Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff from the moment we entered were extremely helpful with questions. The location is right off the main shopping street so close to everything. The room was comfortable and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast had a decent variety. Disliked · Room definitely was in need of remodeling., but as stated above it was very clean. The shower had good water pressure but was tiny and a tad awkward,

We were looking forward to our stay at this hotel but we were disappointed. Our biggest issue was that there was construction going on but we never received notice of it before checking in. The public/shared spaces (outdoor) were not open. There was a makeshift breakfast and (maybe?) bar area but they were awkward and not very useful, especially for a group of 6 to hang out. I know that hotels sometimes have to do construction, but there could have been a free breakfast provided or a small reduction in cost. We did not get what we paid for and it was quite different from what was shown on the hotel's website. The AC did work well and the location was very good. But I think I'll make a different choice if staying in Galway again.

This hotel needs a lot of help. The staff seemed very inexperienced - it took 25 min to check in with only 2 people in front of me. The response to any question was 'let me ask my colleague.' My room was super hot and when I asked for a fan, they said they didn't have any. I traveled for 2+weeks in Ireland and every hotel had fans. Also, the TV didn't work and the door lock didn't lock. I waited for about 10 min at the breakfast sign that said 'please wait to be seated' for someone to tell me that the breakfast was serve yourself buffet. And although there were about 5 other staff walking around no one else could give me that in info. I ended up checking out early and paying for a night I didn't stay. Strongly encourage to stay somewhere else.

Dear O9824FBclaudias Thank you for taking the time to post a review following your recent stay with us. I am sorry to see that you felt the check in process was slow. While we do not ever want to leave guests waiting, we do also have to allow adequate time and attention to be given to each guest checking in. As we have only one receptionist per shift, this can sometimes lead to a small queue and even some delays, which we do always apologise for on the occasions that it occurs. The Hotel is fully air conditioned, so I am sorry to see you felt your room was too warm, but due to the air conditioning system, we do not keep a supply of fans. Again I apologise for this inconvenience. I am very alarmed to see that you report a broken tv and unlockable door. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you further, as these are extremely grave concerns, but also things that should have been dealt with immediately once reported to our team. As mentioned above I would very much welcome the opportunity to speak to you directly regarding your stay. If you would be willing to, you can contact me via email on operations@thehousehotel.ie I hope that I can look forward to hearing from you Kind Regards Fran Toomey Hotel Manager

We stayed at this hotel with our tour group. The hotel is in a great location. Nice and quiet but in walking distance to shops and restaurants. The hotel has air conditioning, which we used! The rooms were a good size with comfortable beds and 2 large storage cabinets. One cabinet was a closet for hanging and the other had shelves. The room was on the smaller side but adequate for a couple nights. The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the breakfast options were limited, and they had no buffet. I would still recommend this hotel despite the disappointing breakfast.

Lovely hotel in the heart of The Latin Quarter. Quay Street, with tons of pubs, restaurants and shops, is just around the corner. They offer a full hot breakfast with gluten free options. So many negative reviews that are not warranted. I found it to be wonderful with clean rooms, air conditioning and really great staff. Would definitely come again.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights after driving from the Dublin Airport. We arrived early so left our suitcases check and ventured out for lunch. We were asked if we wanted to include breakfast at a cost of 12 Euros per person and my husband replied no then later told me that when he booked his reservation that it was quoted as 10 Euros per person, so I don’t know what happened there? We were also warned that there might be noise due to ongoing renovations but we didn’t experience any noise at all. We had a nice newly renovated room but my only pet peeve is that there was no outlet in the bathroom for the hairdryer and No mirror in the bedroom! The hotel is centrally located just around the block from the arch of the Latin quarter with the shopping area, restaurants and Pubs. This was a good hotel but the only place that didn’t include breakfast but plenty of places nearby to pick up breakfast.

Legacy Hotel in the midst of renewal. Despite other (negative) reviews, we found the room nice appointed and quite lovely. Our stay included breakfast. Food was okay, but the serving staff totally disorganized and apparently inexperienced. The Hotel is located in an ideal location for experiencing Galway - just a block or so from the main tourist streets and excellent pubs, but quiet and also located near the fascinating Docks. The Staff were congenial and tried hard to be helpful, but just about everyone we met were new hires. All-in-all a good value, but requires a little patience as they work to get their acts together.

The location is good for walking around and exploring Galway and the staff were lovely, but the hotel itself needs some love. Our room felt outdated and small and the bathroom door was barely that --- just a frosted glass panel with two inch gaps on all sides. Seriously. A bathroom should have a door.

Disappointing when the accommodation doesn’t match the online pictures. Room was a decent size but it was very tired and in need of a refresh. The reception area is under construction and the setup for breakfast was very strange. You had to book your allotted time. Staff were friendly and trying their best

Dear NellyLouie, Thank you for taking the time to post a review following your recent stay with us. I am sorry to hear that the Hotel did not live up to your expectations and can only apologise for this disappointment. As you have noted, we are in a bit of a transition period at the moment with refurbishment works taking place in different areas of the Hotel. While we are excited to have this work done, it does mean we have to be a bit creative with our breakfast service due to very imited space, hence the time slots. I am so sorry if this seemed a little strange but we are trying our best to navigate. We hope that you might consider returning to us again in the future so that you might enjoy the true breakfast experience when all the refurbishment works are complete. Kind Regards Fran Toomey Hotel Manager
