Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Despite unseasonal September warmth, our stay at Ash Grove was exceptional in every way. The staff was sensational; welcomed us warmly and made sure to provide everything we needed for a comfortable experience. They also provided suggestions for things to do which we followed to the letter and had a great time. The location is great - just a quick walk to either the beach or Latin Quarter. We also made a day trip to the cliffs of Moher, stopping off to visit Doolin and several castles along the way. The breakfasts were ordered/scheduled the evening before and were delicious. I particularly fancied the pancakes! I highly recommend staying at Ash Grove for a visit to Galway, you aren’t likely to find a better stay anywhere in the city!

This is a lovely little B&B with great beds, a newly-appointed bathroom, and a wonderful breakfast. A small walk to town centre means it’s quiet, very much appreciated! Our room looked onto the sweet little back garden. Pat et al were friendly and charming. Highly recommend!

What a pleasant surprise. Ash Grove House is hidden away in quiet cul de sac just 10 minutes walk from the city center. Free car park, excellent Wi-fi (Netflix on TV). Lovely landlady, nice irish breakfast. Slept like a log in a modern room. Highly recommended!

Traditional B&B. Warm welcome from our hosts. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast options. Good Wi-fi. Good location. 10-15 minute walk into town. Rooms cosy. Bathrooms tiny. Need to be aware of thin walls as noise carries through the house.

For a single traveler this B&B costs a fortune. Sadly my company, which I was traveling with booked it for me. I have never paid so much for an overnight stay. The room is nice, but incredibly small with a tiny bathroom. The heating did not work at all, the bathroom doesn’t even have a heating. You hear every noise from the outside or other rooms. Also this B&B accepts only cash. The location is a 13 minutes walk to the city center. The breakfast and the staff was nice. But for this price I rather take a hotel.

Angela Martyne was an incredible host along with her wonderful staff. Everything was perfect for our weekend away. The booking was so easy to do. I phoned and all my questions were answered over the phone. The room was very clean. Breakfast was large and very tasty. Thank you Angela we hope to return at a later date. Great value for money. You definitely get 10/10 from us.

A perfectly quaint place to stay from the ivy-covered house to the adorable, cozy rooms. The breakfast is delicious and everyone who works at Ash Grove was incredibly kind and accommodating. An easy 10-20 minute walk to most things in Galway. Can't recommend enough.

The room was clean and warm, we found everything we needed. They had no problems with our late check-in (23.30) and the next day they kept our baggage all day long. Breakfast was very good and generous. People were very nice to us! The Christmas vibe was exciting!

We stayed at the Ash Grove House for two nights. We felt so home there, it was amazing! The staff was super nice and welcoming, the breakfast was made with so much love (you could choose from a few options, but also ask for extras). The rooms were very clean, the bathroom modern. Would definitely recommend!
