Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely hotel with an easy walk to downtown or to the national park. Clean and very attentive staff, especially to our toddler. Parking just up the street and very reasonable. Breakfast had lots of options and was delicious! We would certainly stay here again and highly recommend!

We have stayed at the Fairview a number of times now and always find it great for a relaxing break. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The breakfast is always lovely and hot. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Location is excellent, right in the centre of Killarney. We would not hesitate to recommend the Fairview.

Our stay was 2 nights. The beds were firm & breakfast good enough. The room was quiet, but poorly lit & the decor dated. (Though the little twist of tissue & artful arrangement of the pillows a fun surprise.) The water was tepid, at best, so no hot shower on a chilly, wet night. We had to ask for help w/ the heat. Parking was down the street & free at night. Lots of places to eat & shop w/in walking distance. Staff was pleasant, just. No early check in.

Absolutely loved my stay. The hotel's location couldn't be more convenient for exploring the town, restaurants, and shops. What truly set this experience apart was the kind and attentive staff. From the warm welcome at check-in to the friendly conversations and helpful tips about the area, they made my visit feel extra special. The breakfast was to die for I got the pancakes with chocolate sauce. I'm already looking forward to my next stay!

Extremely comfortable beds and gorgeous decor. Unfortunately this was undermined by the arrogant male receptionist at front desk and the rude breakfast lady. Both upset me deeply with their unjustifiable bad attitudes. Two other ladies- the one who carried our bags and the one who brought breakfast to our room were sweethearts. Sadly I cant recommend. I left feeling stressed!

Response from Dion O'Neill, Other at The Fairview Hotel
Responded 8 Feb 2024
Dear Delia, We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad you enjoyed our comfortable beds and appreciated our décor as we pride ourselves in creating a welcoming environment for all our guests. However, we are truly sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with some aspects of our service. Regarding the concerns you raised, we would like to offer some context to help clarify the situation. As a dog-friendly hotel, we are committed to ensuring a pleasant stay for all our guests. When a dog is causing a disturbance by barking, it is our policy to kindly request the pet owner’s intervention to calm the pet. You were contacted four times by reception and didn’t return. Our intention was not to cause you stress but to ensure the comfort and well-being of all our guests. With respect to the breakfast service, you wanted to carry hot food up to your room. Our hotel adheres to strict health and safety guidelines, which include policies regarding guest handling and transportation of hot food. These policies are in place to protect both our guests and staff. I am sorry if you interpreted the communication of these policies as rude, but our team intended to communicate this guideline clearly and offer alternative solutions like room service, which I am glad met your needs. Please accept our sincere apologies for any misunderstanding. We value your feedback and are committed to improving our service. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide a more positive experience. Warm regards, Dion O’Neill Fairview Boutique Hotel Killarney

What a beautiful hotel, the place was so cosy and festive, the staff were amazing, I booked this hotel mainly because it was dog friendly and wasn't expecting a lot but the room was perfect for the humans and pets alike, even had a little patio, the rate was excellent and it's so central. The breakfast was amazing and the service was just outstanding, really can't say enough how you and your pooch would be warmly welcomed. The only place in the hotel you can't have your dog with you is the restaurant which is totally reasonable. Special thanks to the restaurant staff who were so friendly and helpful.

Checked in for 3 nights (28-29-30/11) and I highly recommend the stay. In the heart of the city- all within walking distance. My room was equipped with all the comforts needed, fresh towels and every day cleaning. I had a very good nights sleep -comfortable bed- and a great start of my day with a delicious breakfast - special thanks to breakfast waitress Lilian. Keep up the good work!

Exceptional We had an overnight stay at the Killarney Fairview Hotel very recently. We have stayed here on several occasions in the past 10 years. It is an outstanding property with wonderful staff both Front of House and Breakfast staff. A very special mention to Anne Hayes and to Thank her for her dedication and hard work and her Kindness towards her guests. Now to James The Proprioter, you run a Fabulous Hotel and your dedication is part of the success of your Hotel. From someone that is in The Hospitality business for nearly 40 years I feel that some of the reviews against James is very unfair and hurtful. The customer is not always right and maybe if people listened to their parents and what was instilled into us If you have nothing good to say about someone say nothing at all. Looking forward to our next stay. M & T. Dingle.
