This was our first B&B on our trip and for my parents a first time experience in a B&B. Dermott made us laught from the moment of arrival and my dad kept telling me the following days- "ahh the Ashbrook House was the best! Nobody was as nice and funny and had a perfect "HOT" irish breakfast! I would totally... More

We were greater by the Owner / Operator and he had a quick wit and was quite engaging and funny. The room was well appointed and immaculate. Dermott and Sandra were great hosts and genuinely concerned that we had a great stay. The view from our room was spectacular!

We spent one night here but wished it could have been longer. Our host was genuinely concerned that our stay was enjoyable and had a wonderful sense of humour. The cooked breakfast was excellent, our room clean and inviting. The location, a 15 minute drive from Kilkenny, guaranteed a quiet night's rest. Our bags were whisked up to our room... More

We stayed for four nights here and it was just lovely. The room was really comfortable and nicely decorated. Nice clean and roomy bathroom. Our host Dermott was just fantastic - friendly and with a good sense of humour, and so helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The B&B is easy to find once you get onto the 712 and... More

Ashbrook House was our first stop on our trip round Ireland and for most of our group it was actually the first contact with Irish hospitality and Irish breakfast, both of which were not surpassed by any of the other stays during our trip. We arrived a bit late due to the late arrival of our aircraft in Dublín and... More

Very nice, old fashioned, b&b. Super friendly owner and tasty breakfast. Their "Irish" breakfast is full and tasty and more then enough energy for a whole day of sightseeing. Rooms are large and clean, as well as bathroom. Nice and clean rooms. Would recommended it for sure!

We found the B&B easily with the help of our Garmin and most of the pot-holes mentioned in another review seem to have been filled in. Friendly Dermot took us to our bright blue-themed room with beautiful views towards the Leinster mountains. He also gave us helpful directions to Kilkenny (10/15mins drive) and suggested Kyteler's for a meal where we... More

This is a good location to stay if you have a rental car. It is a short drive to Kilkenny, which is such a lovely small town to visit. We stayed one night on our way to Killarney and were very pleased with our accomodations.

At the beginning we had some problems arriving at the location (blame the GPS!) but after a short call with the house owner we were on our way. The house owner was very friendly and helpful, the room was great - it had a great view of the valley. 15 minutes drive from the center of Kilkenny city.

We arrived earlier than expected but Dermot welcomed us graciously. Had flown for 26 hours to get to Dublin then drove down to Kilkenny . Toured the countryside on the way so we arrived another 9 hours after arriving in Ireland. Had a refreshing shower then drove to Kilkenny (about 10 minutes away) . Drove back ,had dinner at Paddy's... More
