This was our first time in Ireland, we traveled for three weeks staying at Hotels in Dublin, Galway and a B&B outside of Kilkenny and four days in Limerick at The Bedford Townhouse. We liked Limerick the best and out of the Hotels and Air B&B we liked The Bedford Townhouse the best. A smiling good natured Denice Brazil checked us in when we arrived, Denice explained everything about the Hotel to us along with informing us about the Hotels Cafe on the first floor where we had a delicious breakfast every morning along with a few tasty lunches. It only took a few minutes for Denice to check us in and a few minutes more to find our large beautiful room over looking the quiet pedestrian street below which was closed to auto traffic. On our first night at about 6pm we heard some soft violin music which we thought was coming from a radio but it turned out to be a man playing his violin just outside the front of our Hotel, he was so good that at the end of his 30 minutes of playing we figured he must have been a concert violinist. Everyone we met in our 4 days stay whether it was on the street, in our Hotel, in the local restaurants we ate at or to ask for directions were kind, decent, helpful people, we walked the scenic, litter free streets beside the Shannon River which was just a few blocks from our Hotel, toured King Johns Castle where a kind man we met there gave us a private tour, we also visited my distant ancestor Dominic Fannings Castle who was the Mayor of Limerick during the Siege of Limerick and was executed for refusing Oliver Cromwell's army permission to enter the city.
When I return to Ireland I will be contacting Denice and booking a room at The Bedford Townhouse it is a 5 Star Plus in my books.

The hotel is situated in the centre of Limerick in a pedestrian part with parking nearby at favourable rates. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the bed was massive. Breakfast is available in the cafe next door and the food is freshly made so lovely and hot!! I'd recommend the pancakes! There is a basement with a snug which has tea, coffee and complimentary wine for a relaxing evening. It also has a gym and steam room which we didn't have time to use Sharon, the receptionist is lovely and so knowledgeable of the whole area including restaurants and sightseeing places.

We recieved the warmest of welcomes from Sharon when we arrived. Called us by our first names and gave us a full explanation of the hotel and it's facilities. The room was elegant, the hand written card beside the bed was a lovely personal touch. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and a very relaxed vibe throughout the hotel. The parlour room is like being in the most stylish living room, with endless amounts of complementary tea, coffee, still and sparkling water, chocolates and wine. The gym and steam room are available from 5am to 11pm unfortunately we ran out of time to avail on them.
The breakfast was amazing, great choice and excellent service. This hotel is a gem in Limerick, fantastic location and from start to finish I couldn't recommend it enough. Every single staff member was helpful, pleasant and polite. Well done to you all on your professionalism and standard of service you provide

We stayed in the Bedford Townhouse for the weekend. The stay has been truly amazing. Starting with receptionists being wonderful (Sharon and another lady, didnt get her name), clean room with complimentary water, dressing gown (not to take it with you), slippers. Parlour room with coffee, water, wine, again, complimentary. A personalised card on the bedside table was a great touch. Breakfast was so delicious great options to suit every taste, had 2 soya latte during breakfast and was offered a coffee to go when we checked out, all included with B&B rate.
I cannot recommend this place enough, great customer service, rooms, breakfast, location and the price. Thank you for a great experience, we will be back next year again

Stayed for 2 nights at the end of August '24. Advised before hand how to get to the hotel and where to park which was really helpful. Parked in the nearby Q Park (Dunnes) where we were given a discount code to use when paying for the parking.

The rooms are modern, clean and spacious with excellent facilities. Considering the hotel lies on a main street, we found the room surprisingly quiet.

Breakfast downstairs in the restaurant was brilliant, and the staff made us feel very welcome (recognising us from check-in the previous day) and nothing was too much effort for them.

On departure at 4am, the front desk arranged a take-away breakfast for us that was dropped off the night before; made for a great ferry breakfast later that morning!

Definitely would stay again when visiting Limerick :)

What an incredible place. Honestly the Bedford is by far one of the most fabulous places I have stayed in a long time! We stayed in the clock room as part of the elegant package!

The check in experience was flawless and friendly, the hallways, lifts and communal areas are spotless and non the less the smell of their fragrance throughout the townhouse is amazing!

The room, it’s exactly why you see in pictures on their website the bathroom is so bright, the rain shower is so fab!

The bed, the queen size bed is by far the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and pillows are divine.

I write this as we are just back from breakfast and the menu is fab! And food was delicious!!

If you are staying In Limerick add The Bedford to your list! We don’t want to leave.

I came across this jewel by chance and was so impressed. The attention to detail and the little things makes you feel you are in a 5 star hotel. The gorgeous art deco sitting room with complimentary wine and the gym were so unexpected. Great sleep. And i was sure i was the first person to use the shower as it was so clean. The breakfast is the icing on the cake. The staff from hello to goodbye are exceptional.

10/10. Fab boutique hotel in the centre of Limerick. The rooms were tastefully decorated, clean, comfy bed and lovely shower.

Check-in was easy, super flexible and everything explained. Breakfast (full Irish) was brilliant and again the folks were super flexible and helpful so I could eat early and get on my way to the train. Highly recommended

Excellent welcome (familiar and domestic, but sensitive and - overall - calmly refined), availability and ability to act as a "gateway" to the area. The welcome note was greatly appreciated (I would have preferred it in Gaelic with the classic «Fáilte» rather than in English which I can't stand, but we must accept - albeit reluctantly - that the Irish have not yet fully awakened from the British colonial nightmare precisely in starting from the language).
Small but well-equipped rooms, clean and tidy, very comfortable beds. The air was perhaps a little hot and dry (a problem that can be easily remedied given that there is also a very handy air conditioner).
The local café (offered to guests) is also appreciated. We didn't try the sauna and/or the fitness area (which honestly aren't for us, although we understand that an Irish hotelier feels a bit forced to entertain his guests in some way, considering the endemic rainfall.
Excellent and express breakfast: in Limerick I ate the best bacon in Ireland (and after all the city was once famous for pig farming, although now you don't see a pig from one end of the island to the other). And I tasted a cappuccino worthy of Italy (you shouldn't ask for a non-local artefact, but I wanted to try!), albeit much more generous in size than our classic. Also very well decorated.
Recommended experience and definitely worth repeating.

Hi There, The Bedford Townhouse is located on a pedestrianised street in the heart of Limerick City. The nearest carpark to The Bedford is QPark on Harvey's Quay which is located on Harvey's Quay just across the street from The Bedford. The Bedford has a preferred 24-hour online rate of €10 or an overnight rate from 5pm-9am of €6 with QPark. You can prebook this parking online on the Q Park Website. Select "pre book parking now" and use the code "bedford" in the final payment screen. You can also avail of this rate by obtaining a voucher from reception on checkout. QPark also offers a €5 overnight rate between 7pm and 9am which you do not need to book online and can just avail of on arrival. When you exit the carpark by foot you will exit on to Henry Street and The Bedford is located just across the street on Bedford Row. Please let us know if you need anything further. You can also visit our FAQ Page on our website. Kind Regards, Denise
