Room was basic but clean (bedding could have been changed more often). Location is very central (5 min walk to main areas and 25 or so to waterfront). Free parking was very helpful and I enjoyed having a pub on the premises for the end-of-day Guinness! They do provide a breakfast however I cannot comment as I'm not a breakfast...

We were tired and thirsty...the Barley Field pulled a good pint and 3 musicians turned up to play traditional music. We slept like babies, the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious - she made a special vegetarian effort for us. And explained a great place to get our puncture fixed.

Hi myself and my girlfriend stayed in this BnB. We thought when booking this, it was a hotel(probably my own stupidity). Place was OK, it started off bad, we had little channels on the TV and it seemed cold. We said it to the receptionist and he gave us a different room and still the same thing. We accepted that...

I went here with my boyfriend for our anniversary weekend away, we had a room on the top floor which sucked because of the stairs (But hey who does like stairs really haha) The room was nice, the bed was comfy, power shower was awesome. Tea and coffee in the room which was nice. It was quiet in our room...

Best shower I have ever had, fantastic power shower. The room was clean. There was no heating on, but the room wasn't particularly cold for November. Unusually you had to get your tv remote for reception. The first guy at reception was indifferent, the second pleasant. Windows seemed single glazed and there was quite a bit of noise from outside....

I travelled with a large group & having read previous reviews, did not have high expectations of this guesthouse but I was very pleasantly surprised. Easy to find in a good location close to the city centre & with free car parking close by. Checking in was very quick & informal. My non smoking room on the 2nd floor was...

The Barley Field is in a more "local" area of the town of Waterford, uphill from the waterfront, it's away from the tourist crowds. The building consists of a pub and a guesthouse.. where the you'll get checked in at the front desk and get served a pint by the same person. It was a simple room (Bed, tv, en...

The room was cheap and the pub downstairs is really nice, but the room had nothing to do with the pictures, with the oldest mattress I´ve seen in my life, terrible!. In general the room acceptable, the best part the bathroom (seems recently renovated), the room does not have it own heating, the day was not nice and the room...

Really enjoyed our stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. The accommodation was very comfortable and breakfast was good. Safe off road parking nearby and location to town was good. Would recommend to friends and would definitely stay there again.
