Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very smart looking hotel with a welcoming entrance on a quiet main street. Inside the hotel is clean and well kept. Our double room was bright and well equipped with use of a phone, with a good size tv on the wall. The bathroom with shower over the bath was spacious with lovely generous sized toiletries at the sink. Our evening meal which we booked, was served by Irana, who was extremely pleasant and happy in her work. The food we had was superbly cooked and tasty. The service all round by staff was great. We had a comfortable nights sleep on a quality mattress. The towels in the bathroom were good quality. At breakfast we were once again served by polite and pleasant staff. We complimented the staff at the end and they were very appreciative. It was a serve yourself breakfast for the cereals, fruit and yoghourt with a few fruit juices to choose. There was a cooked breakfast on offer which was being replenished when needed and served by a member of staff, on warmed plates. We had some of the bacon eggs and tomatoes. The cooked breakfast all looked good. We enjoyed toast on offer and tea of various types. All in all this hotel is outstanding. It is a short walk to Peterborough Cathedral which is free entry and full of history and beautiful. There is a Museum which again is free and is another short walk in the town. We spent ages in there with such interesting history of Peterborough and surrounding areas and its other links throughout history. We used their Squires cafe, also fantastic which served tea in lovely teapots with matching cups and saucers. It was like being in an hotel and felt rather splendid. Thank you all for the Bull Hotel and the lovely city and all it has to offer.

Next to bus and train stations and the huge queens gate shopping centre. Great breakfast and busy central bar. Rooms have everything you need and cleaned every day. We found the best price was offered on best westerns own site when you joined up for a members reward ticket via email. Great stay

The biggest issue I have is when you ring down with a problem with your room and you are told it's very busy. The attention appears to be allocated to parties or large groups .I would remove the word busy and replace with someone will be alone to solve that problem

I stayed at this hotel with my husband to celebrate my birthday to go to a local theatre. The room supposedly was deluxe but was very small. It was boiling hot and wasn’t told it had air conditioning. The bed also small was uncomfortable.

Hotel is nice, I paid £15 for breakfast which to b honest wasn't worth the money. There was no black pudding or scrambled egg n u couldn't serve yrself even though it was a buffet. Also when I've looked on site I was over charged for breakfast, it should have been £13 some thing.

This is straight out of the 1990’s. Decor is clean but very dated. Superior King Room was as small as any standard hotel room. As advertised but missing, robes, slippers and water. TV remote batteries were flat. All corrected but how hard is it to make up a room to the standard offered. Only here as visiting a relative locally in hospital and any preferred places were booked so at least they had last minute availability. You certainly wouldn’t stay here by choice, unless it was half the price.

Visited for lunch. The grandeur of the building was beautiful. The restaurant area was full of low chairs and low tables, suitable for afternoon but difficult for a main meal because of the poor positioning. We asked how to order and was told it was waiter service, for both food and drink. It was emphasised someone would come to us. We waited for 30 mins for someone to come and take our drinks order. It was not overly busy, there were approximately 6 tables occupied when we arrived. I went to the toilet so we were unable to order when the waitress came to the table. My friend was assured they would return, we waited another 20mins, but nobody came to take either a drinks order or a food order. We left thirsty, hungry and very disappointed.

The hotel is handily located across the road from a shopping mall and close to the pedestrianised Long Causeway with plenty of shopping opportunities. The staff were all very friendly and the bar served excellent local beer. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. The room was large with a comfortable bed BUT our room was on the 2nd floor with steep stairs and NO lift which we found difficult as an elderly couple with some mobility issues.
