We arrived early and our lodge was not ready. Reception said that they would call us when it was so we visited nearby Stamford to get some supplies. As promised an hour or so later we received the call from reception, so made our way back and checked in. The reception staff were very friendly and efficient. When we got to the lodge there were a lot of loose grass cuttings around which kept getting brought inside which was not ideal, however once inside the lodge “WOW”! (we stayed in an Elton lodge).

The bedroom was lovely with a very comfortable super king size bed and plenty of storage / hanging space and a useful safe.

The bathroom was a good size with a lovely free standing bath and separate shower. The shower was nice and although the water pressure wasn’t brilliant we always found there to be hot water on demand. A couple of hooks either side of the “his & hers” sinks for the hand towels would have been useful. The towels were good quality, thick and fluffy (a couple of extra towels for the hot tub would be very useful). The complimentary toiletries were a nice touch.

The kitchen was very well equipped and once again the complimentary bits & pieces including Tassimo coffee pods were great.

The lounge area was very comfortable with the seating in dark blue velour which gave it a luxurious feel. There was a good sized flat screen TV with plenty of channels, not that we watched it much, and built in blue tooth speakers in the ceiling that can be paired to your phone / laptop etc.

The veranda had a table, 2 comfortable chairs, a bbq stand which was ideal for disposable bbq’s and a great hot tub that the excellent maintenance staff checked twice daily to take water readings etc.

The Lakeside shop, this little shop on site near reception was great. They stock a good range of products from newspapers, fresh bread, sausages, burgers, alcohol (including some excellent ales from the local Oakham brewery in Peterborough), disposable bbq’s to name but a few. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we thought that the prices were very fair.

To sum up we had a very enjoyable stay. The location is very good and there are some good restaurants within a ten mile radius (and less). The lodges are very well equipped with good quality fixtures and fittings. The site is very peaceful and relaxing and each and every member of staff that we spoke to were friendly and helpful. We would return and recommend.

We stayed in the Apethorpe lodge which was excellent, very well equipped and the beds were so comfortable. It is a brand new lodge and hence very clean. There was no signal on our mobiles but the wifi was excellent for streaming sky, netflix etc from the laptop.

There's a small dishwasher but the problem was the dinner plates were too large for it which defeated the object really but that could be easily rectified, expected teething issues from being so new. There was a washer/dryer so great for taking home clean laundry. The bbq tray on the decking was a super idea for using the small disposable bbq trays.

We enjoyed the lodge so much on day two we decided to book a further week, looking on Hoseasons site the lodge was available but we didn’t want to check out and in so contacted reception and were told we would have to contact Hoseasons because they orchestrate all of the bookings. I emailed Hoseasons explaining what we would like to do if possible but failed to receive a response. I contacted reception again and was told our lodge was available for another week and they would contact Hoseasons directly and ask them to make contact with us by email as we didn’t have phone signals in the lodge, however there was a phone in the lodge so presume that we would have been easily contactable, however still no contact so by Sunday and having to leave Monday decided to forget it and a booking lost.

The grounds are really well kept, staff work hard to maintain them, we didn’t have a hot tub but noticed staff checking them very frequently, the wild flower gardens around the lodges are a great idea and look really impressive.

There are some fabulous places to visit locally, we loved Stamford and did a walking tour provided by Stamford Sights and Secret tours they meet at 11am outside the Art’s Centre on a Wednesday and Saturday morning and at £9 per person for a 90 minute tour we thought was really good value and gave us an insight into the history of this wonderful medieval town. Followed by lunch at the Crown which was really good.

The shop on site is small and very well stocked with fresh local produce and great coffee, they also sell the bbq trays to use at the lodge. Its a good walk from the lodges to reception and the shop but do able , or you can take the car, but don’t bother washing the car because the gravel sections of the road from reception to the lodges throw up the dust and its soon full of it.

If you want a nice walk, there are some really good walks around and they provide a map with all the walks at reception, lots of wild life around we saw lots of different birds and deer.

There are menu’s at reception for food delivered directly to the Lodges and we saw a Tesco delivery van delivering which is useful to know if we come again.

Overall a great week which could have been a great two weeks, however maybe again later in the year.

We booked a Elton (VIP) lodge for 3 nights and overall it was a nice stay. Check-in was easy, we arrived about 40 minutes early (3pm) but were made to wait until 3.40pm before we could get our keys. The Gates are ANPR so you need to register your car registration with Administration before arriving. The road down to the lodges (1 mile) is very rough going and really needs a proper tarmac surface. This time next year it will probably be a lot worse after the winter weather and traffic. We were surprised how close the lodges we're to each other especially the larger lodges. Our stay was comfortable and the on site shop does do the bare essentials but if you're planning to do self catering you should bring your supplies with you to avoid disappointment. The negatives we're inconsiderate guests in other lodges playing loud music throughout the day, and some children running around in groups unsupervised annoying other guests with walky talkeys. The Grass had also been cut and the Jacuzzi staff checking the pool every day trampled this wet grass all over our decking. The kitchen equipment was okay (Bosch) but the oven wasn't user friendly ( instructions were for a different model which didn't help). We found that having microwave meals much better. No condiments we're supplied (Salt,Pepper, oil etc) and although we had a Tassimo Coffee machine there wasn't any pods provided, so we had to buy some at the small shop. Music Entertainment system was good for streaming , but the Casting to the Bedroom and Lounge TV's was a bit tedious (Register every day as turning of the TV ruined the pairing) for the inexperienced this would have been impossible as casting was not well explained (Google Chromecast). The hot tub was nice but it wasn't private enough for our liking. Bathroom was really good with an excellent shower. Sleep quality was great and the park became quite from about 9pm. We enjoyed the walks around the park and into the woods. Mobile phone reception was poor but possible out side of your lodge. WiFi was excellent with plenty of bandwidth for multiple streaming etc. Checkout was before 10am with staff already starting on draining the hot tubs etc before this time. Nice stay but not really for couples! As accommodation is not private enough.

Just returned from a fantastic stay at Rockingham Forest, we stayed in the “Yarwell” lodge, with 2 king size bedrooms and a twin bedroom.

Before arrival we had a welfare call from the park to see if we needed keys putting in the key safe, we got slightly lost at first but the reception team were great and gave us directions to get to them, we arrived around 1745 and the check in process was easy and quick. The drive to the lodges is bumpy but there is a 10mph speed limit in place for the wildlife, therefore nice and slow and it is a lovely little drive to take in the views.

The lodges are beautiful, they are all so clean and brand new. The kitchen is very well equipped with a fridge freezer, wine cooler, washing machine/ dryer, dishwasher etc. it has all the necessities in regards to utensils including cheese grater, pans, trays etc. There was a lovely little welcome pack including tea and coffee and a 1 pint of milk in the fridge, they also included a “doggy pack” which had a tennis ball and some chews in- the pup loved them.

The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are unbelievably comfortable! Each bedroom had its own on suite which was a lovely touch especially for privacy. The hot tub was excellent and they checked it twice a day, we was lucky enough to have nice weather the full stay but they could do with a cover so they could still be enjoyed in the rain and maybe some more privacy glass around the decking area. The park is very quiet and there is some lovely walks through the forest straight from the park. We was even lucky enough to see some deer.

The only issue I found was, with being so close to the entrance of the lodges, the whizzing in and out on little buggy’s which aren’t the quietest especially early in the morning. I know it can’t be helped and the staff do such an amazing job of keeping the park clean etc but it did wake us on a couple of occasions. Very very minor issue though as we did thoroughly enjoy the stay and even tried to book for longer whilst we was there.

I would 100% recommend this park, it’s just beautiful and so so relaxing! We have already booked to come back and bring the rest of the family next year for much longer! Thank you Landal Rockingham Forest for such a beautiful stay. We will see you next year!

We have just arrived home after a wonderful stay at Rockingham forest. From the moment we drove down the beautiful winding drive with the most amazing views and wide open spaces I felt truly at peace and relaxed. We stayed in a 2 bed lodge with a hot tub and as soon as we entered we were struck with how meticulously it had been cleaned and staged for our arrival. It was sparkling the cleaning staff truly take pride in there jobs. An assortment of teas and coffee available and milk in the fridge ready for a cuppa before you tackle the unpacking. Towels and dressing gowns provided (however I would recommend bringing extra towels for the hot tub) but as a washer/dryer is in the lodge its not really an issue. The hot tub was ready to go on arrival so the kids go stuck in while we unpacked. We had a late check in due to traveling down after school pick up so collected the key from the lock box on the lodge, but we had such amazing communication from the resort that everything went smoothly. The tub was checked daily and when we needed it topped up after day 4 the maintenance crew were with us within 15mins amazing customer service. One large king size bed that was so comfy I slept amazingly. And a twin room both en-suite were immaculately clean. We walked around the grounds several times using a site map provided in the welcome pack.Paths were so clearly set out with many different routes to take lake's to walk round woods to bear hunt through. We enjoyed it as much as the kids The location of the lodges are amazing so peacful and rural. The site itself is spotless the staff work tirelessly to maintain the grounds. We were sad to leave and could of stayed 10 days instead of 7. We had tesco deliver our food which I'd recommend as its a little luxury to not have to worry about it on holiday. But there is a waitrose and an asda less then 30mins away. . Peterborough is only a short 25min drive we visited the museum free entry and did a Halloween treasure hunt. It's a lovely well set out museum with wonderful interactive exhibits. We also visited safari soft play. A must for nakering the kids and very clean and modern. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone one families or couples as its perfect for all. We will definitely return in the future. As a side note i have seen some mention the price of accommodation being high. DO NOT agree you pay for what you get and this site and accommodation warrants the price without hesitation. Thank you to all at Rockingham Forest for a 5* holiday.

We visited the Landal Rockingham Forest for a 4 night break.
We found check in nice and smooth and straight forward. We were provided with lots of useful information and map and our lodges key.
The lodges are about 1 mile down a gravel track from reception. The site uses ANPR to allow you though the gates. The system works well and we had no issues.

The lodges are set in beautiful grounds and the staff maintain the site wonderfully.

Our lodge was a 2 bedroom one without a hot tub and was absolutely spotless and huge.
We had 2 en-suites one with a bath and the other with a shower. The beds are super comfy and the bedding is so soft and comfy and of excellent quality.

Lodges have a disposable bbq stand on the decking of the weather permits but the kitchen is stocked with the key items which you need to cook.

We found the welcome pack very useful, it contained a dish sponge, bin bags and 2 dishwasher tablets and best of all we loved having a pint of milk in the fridge ready for us.

The shop is stocked with everything you could need, the cakes are simply yummy and we loved the local produce and beers as well.

We would recommend this site to anyone and can not wait to go back.

A lovely location which feels away from it all despite being relatively close to the A1. The entrance, reception and little shop is really well presented and feels very secure with camera recognition security gates. There is then a short drive to the lodges through lovely countryside with ample parking right next to the lodges. The accommodation itself was superb. Really well laid out with everything you could need. We stayed in the Yardwell which was delightful. The king size beds were a treat with excellent duvets, pillows and bedding. The compact bathrooms served us well with good showers and towels and the robes and slippers were an added bonus. The terrace area was great for outdoor dining and our disposal BBQ worked well on the purpose built shelf. The hot tub was enjoyed by all, treated twice a day and on our last day it was emptied and thoroughly cleaned. the grounds surrounding are really well set out with paths leading through the forest. I would definitely recommend and would return in a heartbeat.

I feel quite protective of this gem of a site but it's too good not to share!
We have just returned home from a wonderful time at Landal Rockingham Forest Park. This holiday exceeded all our expectations as it was so peaceful and beauitiful. The lodges are very high end with everything you could possibly need. Comfortable with a a touch of luxury from the Rituals hand soap to the furnishings and bedding. The grounds are very well maintained and the little shop on site is a real treasure trove of fantastic local produce plus essentials, the ladies who run the store are so friendly and informative we miss them already (the take away coffee is great too)
The whole holiday was amazing and we have all returned feeling relaxed and recharged. What could be better than sitting out on the terrace at the end of a busy day sightseeing the pretty villages, watching the sunset with rabbits, hares and deer in the fields and a cold beer or glass of wine........dreams are made of this!
The staff working on site are a credit to the park always smiling and friendly.
We loved evening meals at the White Swan in Wood Newton ( we went 3 out of 6 nights) also the Willow and Brook and the tea room in Wansford oposite the Hotel. For kiddies Ferry meadows park and the farm on A47 are really worth a visit.
We are already looking to rebook......well done everyone at Landal Rockingham Forest Park!

We have just visited here for a 4 night stay and don’t have a bad word to say about our time spent! From the minute we arrived all the staff we came across were lovely & helpful. The lodges are a drive away from reception but are situated in a quiet woodland area which was perfect for us! We stayed in a Sutton lodge which had 2 double bedrooms and more than enough room for 4 people. There was lots of nice little touches like a welcome pack for our dog, robes and slippers, toiletries and complimentary hot drinks. The hot tub was private, nicely situated from both ensuites and got cleaned twice a day. There are plenty of walks to do straight from the lodge or a short drive away. We visited the local villages which had nice dog friendly pubs. There are a few local places which do deliveries to the lodges too. The lodge was spotlessly clean, modern and the bed was so comfy! We can’t wait to book our next visit!

We stayed for 1 week in August and really enjoyed our stay. The lodge and hot tub was amazing. Great facilities inside the lodge too. The little things really make a big difference. There was hand soap, shampoo, conditioner , as well as milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, washing up liquid, washing sponge/cloth. The bluetooth speakers were great. Drinks fridge is great and comes in so handy! The bed and pillows are so comfortable, I had the best week of sleep. We had a really comfortable, relaxing stay.

For the future, I think the park needs some sort of restaurant and bar for the evening. Not only for having a nice meal cooked for you but also for the social aspect. When your in the lodge you don't end up seeing or mixing with anyone else. If you want to stay somewhere that's very quiet this is the perfect place. We didn't want to drive 20 minutes to the nearest restaurants so we cooked a bbq every night.

Also for the future I would recommend the park to make bike hire available. The shop is a mile away from the lodges and would be a great idea if bikes could be hired for the surrounding fields. The shop is great, it stocks quite a variety, alcohol, soft drinks, fridge foods, pizza, chocolate, ice cream, toilet paper, bbq's. Overall we had a great stay.
