Detailed Reviews
I don't have high standards when it comes to budget hotels and, aside from needing a serious refurbishment and modernisation, I enjoyed my 3 night stay here. I was a bit surprised to be taken across the road to a totally different building when I arrived, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Kevin, the proprietor, was a lovely fella and cooks a terrific Irish breakfast, which was cooked to perfection and piping hot. Definitely a highlight. I also loved the dog too. She came to greet me when I popped over to the main building to hand in my keys, bless her. Now that's a reception I can get used to.
My room was basic and drab and in need of a good clean, but it was a bed for 3 nights and everything I needed. A bit of Shake 'n' Vac on the stairs and landing might help freshen it up a bit and make it smell a bit more inviting to newly arriving guests. You need to get the taps in room 3 (in 27) tightened up too. Very wonky indeed.
If the price is right I'll definitely stay again, although I'm not a big fan of Eastfield Road. A very scruffy road with drunks and tramps everywhere. But that isn't the hotel's fault.

Very near to the beer festival in august & there’s parking
Room was what you expected for a 3 star .
I think it’s mostly for workers working away if so it’s brilliant for them ,
Fridge microwave & plates glasses cutlery in the room .
It’s dogs friendly but we have 2 jacks,so hyper & yappy ,which I don’t think it pleased the gentleman,
Breakfast was excellent piping hot with a full Irish which I ate it all ,I could not fault it apart from the orange juice which mine looked like squash compaired to my husband’s & daughter.when questioned the gentleman brought out the carton to show me …whoops I think I he might have been annoyed ..but in all .would I stay again
Yes if allowed with 2 jacks lol ..
They need a breakfast rota so all don’t come down at once ..

Likes: The price was eye catching. Location was around 20 minutes walk from the rail and bus station. 10-15 minutes walk to the main shopping area, restaurants, cathedral. Quiet location especially as my room faced the back of the hotel. No noise from other rooms on the floor. Room had basic tea / coffee making facilities. Not used, but there wa a microwave, plate / bowl, glass and cutlery for basic self catering in the room. WiFi worked well.
Breakfast served from 05:00 - yes, that early! until 09:00 on a Sunday morning so presumably same for all other days. Was good size portion for the cooked breakfast. Cereals, toast, tea / coffee plus orange juice.
Dislikes: · Whilst the room was low cost and for that the quality of the rooms, furnishing and bathroom was not exactly good. In need of redecoration, bathroom was in poor condition. Not particularly clean. The fridge in the room was running just to keep 6 x milk sticks for coffee / tea cold. I had to switch it off as it was very noisy when running.

We had the pleasure of staying at this guest house and were warmly welcomed and given a first class room that was dog friendly and very spacious. We had a large king sized bed with Freeview TV and a fridge included access to a shared kitchen and bathroom, with no one in the adjoining room, we effectively had a self-contained apartment. The accommodation was very comfortable and quiet and the city centre was a brief 15 minutes walk away offering shops and restaurants etc.
Breakfast was included and was a traditional Irish break fast consisting of sausage, bacon, hash brown, egg, tomato, baked beans, white & black pudding, mushrooms and toast . The breakfast lasted us all day and tea/coffee and fruit juice, fantastic breakfast.
Overall our stay was exceptional and we will return again when we go to Peterborough, Kevin was a gracious host and lovely man.
Parking locally was Resident Only, but you are added to the scheme to get free parking.

This is a lovely guest house, and Kevin an excellent host. My en-suite room was perfect for my short stay in Peterborough; it had a microwave, fridge and kettle, as well as a selection of tea and coffee (with milk in the fridge), mugs, bowls and plates. The breakfasts included were so hearty that I barely needed to eat for the rest of the day - thank you, Kevin! I’ll definitely recommend to anyone passing through Peterborough.

You are paying less than £30 per night including breakfast. It has everything you need! Clean bed, clean room, great home cooked breakfast. It’s very homely and the staff are great. It’s situated within easy reach of the city. There is residents parking just outside but you need to get a permit from Kevin, the owner. If you do read reviews and they’re picky then just accept this is a £30 a night guest house (it’s fantastic value as you get breakfast included, which was superb), don’t expect top of the range fixtures and fittings, you have everything you need for a comfortable stay.

I found the whole experience so nice, the room is clean and had everything needed; fridge, microwave, plates & cups etc, shower was decent and the bed was comfortable. There is a fan and TV in the room, very good! The gentleman was so friendly and nice, really made me feel welcome. Breakfast was really nice, too. Will come back again! This pic below is the breakfast area :)

Cant grumble for the price. Really friendly staff. Breakfast nice , bit of a shame no veggie sausage on a veggie breakfast but the beans hash browns eggs and tomatoes was fine. Room nice enough and comfy.
