Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel with nice kerb appeal and ideally located to explore Harrogate. Staff were really friendly, check in was simple. Some issues with room but this has been fed back. Rooms are no frills and dated but for a cheap stay in a nice area it did the job. The bar has a good selection of drinks.

Having stayed here recently in this fabulous hotel i was very impressed. The you lady Roisin that dealt with us checking in was such a friendly and welcoming experience. Another young lady that was always very helpful and friendly was Lauren , she couldn’t do enough for us in order to make our stay more pleasant ..The room was warm and comfortable as was the food which was delicious.. I would definitely recommend this hotel and shall be returning from Ireland in the summer.

Have to say that our stay was good overall. However, we did have issues checking in due to the fact that (allegedly) the hotel was waiting for a new bed to be fitted in our suite. Found that a little hard to believe to be honest. Anyway, wasn’t a major issue and all sorted in the end. The other thing that surprised us was that breakfast was buffet style and not the greatest quality in our opinion. For a hotel of this size and the grandeur of the dining room, we thought breakfast would surely be cooked to order. Instead it was the usual luke warm ‘hot’ buffet and you even had to make your own tea. Staff were all very pleasant and accommodating though, which helped enhance the whole experience.

Fantastic location and lovely clean hotel with extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Would definitely return for another visit but avoid room 330 next time as unfortunately with the window open, as it was a warm evening, we were disturbed by the noise from the function room and the emptying of glass bottles in the recycling bins. Apart from that small negative we will visit again. Rooms were lovely and clean, thank you to the housekeeping team. Alex who looked after us during afternoon tea and breakfast on day one deserves a special mention, but again all the team were so helpful. Parking excellent, breakfast lovely and the refurbishment just completed while we were there has made this hotel a go to place to stay when visiting Harrogate. Thank you Paul & Andrea Jones

HI Andrea j , thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I am sorry your experience of room 330 was great , that particular night was very busy so as you can imagine we had a lot of glass bottles etc to dispose of , but having said that we should have been more mindful of not disturbing our guests particularly late in the evening so i will mention this to the team. I will pass on your lovely comments to Alex , he loves to hear that he is delighting our guests. I hope to welcome you both back soon Kind regards Jason Roberts Guest Service Manage

This hotel is absolutely fantastic from the minute we booked we were updated with confirmation, when to check in and what our stay included. when I rang re restaurant booking and parking the staff were very friendly and helpful. When we arrived we were welcomed by reception staff who were super attentive. We came back in the afternoon after a visit into Harrogate which was only a 10 min walk away with family we had met up with and had coffee which was brought to us by Harry who again was very attentive to our needs .Evening meal in the brand new Amber restaurant which is such a nice refurbishment looks and feels fantastic we were lucky to be one of the first to try the new menu and it was delicious my husband had the duck for main and as we have lived in France said it was the best duck he had tasted .Breakfast was buffet style everything fresh and quality produce used .Our room was lovely very stylish and clean and had a great night sleep.Thank you all at Cedar Court we will be back and highly recommend you try it.

The hotel is nearing completion of a major refurbishment and I must compliment them on the quality and refreshed design. The work is being done minimising impact on guests and is due to complete in April. Every one of the staff we dealt with was extremely helpful and friendly, absolute pleasure. Room was clean tidy with all the facilities we would expect. We o my had breakfast here but it was really well presented and good quality.

Staff were very helpful during check-in and check out which occurs at a modern standing desk with touch screens. We had a choice of where to park each day and the spaces are decent sized. We stayed in the suite which was a very spacious room with lovely views across the stray. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a sofa, large wardrobe/dressing room area and a separate area for desk/mirror/drinks facilities. Everything was clean and in working order. Aside from the standard tea/coffee etc we had bottles of water, crisps and mini red wine in our room on arrival which was a lovely touch as were the particularly lovely biscuits! It would have been nice to have water provided each day of our stay as part of the ‘refresh my room’ top up and would also have been nice to have a choice of red or white wine for the welcome drink. We loved the coffee machine with pods which gave a superior drink to the usual packets of instant. One glaring flaw for us was the dreadful glass bathroom door affording zero privacy to anyone using the loo/shower. The bathroom door had a considerable gap all the way around meaning that all sounds and smells could also be experienced to accompany the sight of your partner using the loo, which was directly opposite the bed. Not everybody is comfortable with that, it’s hardly romantic. I don’t think all of the rooms have this feature thankfully and we’d avoid the suite next time due to this. Suggestions for improvement: a designated outside bin for responsible dog owners to dispose of poo bags.

Hi Escape35228073897 , Thank you for leaving a review. I'm pleased to hear the you found the staff helpful & that you enjoyed the beverages & nibbles in your room. I'm sorry your experience of the suite wasn't great , point taken about the glass bathroom door , its a design feature that matches the décor of the room , i get that it isn't to everyone's taste & that privacy is a little compromised. I hope this doesn't put you off coming to the hotel in the future as we would love the opportunity to welcome you back. Kind regards Jason Roberts Guest Service Manager
