The Queens Head at Kettlesing near Harrogate is a traditional country inn serving good home cooked food, well kept real ales from Masham & Knaresborough and comfortable B&B accommodation. We're mad about traditional homemade English food. Whether it's our all day Sunday Lunches or our famous Old Peculier steak pie or our yummy puddings, you can be assured you won't leave hungry. Our specials board changes regularly and the menu is varied and interesting. Don't forget we're open all day for food on Sundays when many other local restaurants are closed. The bar at the Queens Head has the welcoming hospitality, warmth and character of a traditional Yorkshire country inn, serving a selection of local real ales from Masham and Knaresborough

Detailed Reviews
A really great experience from the meet and greet at the door, being shown to our seat and the new process explained clearly. None of which detracted from a really lovely evening. The service and food was excellent, a warm and friendly atmosphere. Other guests sat at a good distance, all staff wearing appropriate PPE but still able to smile and be friendly. All areas constantly sanitised and a one way system in and out of the premises, as stated, none of this detracted from a lovely 'normal' enjoyable evening. We felt very safe and well looked after. Highly recommend a visit if you want a good meal with great hospitality.

Perfect. We were given a great welcome and the host and staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The drinks, specifically the beers were perfectly kept with an excellent selection, and the food was of very high quality with good portion sizes and good value. Will definitely return when next in that area.

How can a country inn in such a rural location not have been closed and boarded up years ago? Answer; like most successful small businesses it is all down to the people running it; the team. Rooms very comfortable, clean and modern; food, terrific quality and good choice; good selection of beers and wines; great team of people to serve you; they haven't been through the "corporate" mill and it shows in their individual personalities and enthusiasm. There are also some friendly locals most nights to advise you on choice of beer. If you think you may want to stay here then my advice is to book early because when we stayed in May 2022 every room was booked for each of the 3 nights of our stay; and people come here from far and wide. One couple we spoke with at breakfast were on a visit from the USA. The village setting and location are very good as well. Some public footpaths close by if you fancy a stroll before dinner, or breakfast; easy access to Harrogate; close to North York Moors.

Thanks for your great review. We do try to keep an "individual" feel to the Queens. A traditional country pub with good food and beer and comfortable rooms - that's what we aim for. We clearly achieved this in this case. We have been extremely busy last two years and hope the changes we have made, will encourage people to keep coming back. Hope to see you again soon.

We were a little nervous of venturing out with Covid-19 still around but we had nothing to worry about at the Queens Head. They've introduced a one-way system to ensure the safety of their customers. The welcoming hosts continue to provide the highest quality food and refreshments.
If you are in the area and looking for a place to eat/drink - then this is highly recommended.

This is by far our favourite pub for meals near Harrogate. The staff are super-nice and work tirelessly to make the experience as good as possible. The food is fantastic and always up to a very standard. The menu should suit every taste and there are always additional ‘Specials’ to add to the choice.
Unlike a lot of pubs in the area the Queens Head has managed to retain a feeling of character and welcome despite following all the latest social distancing rules and regs. We would highly recommend the Queens Head Inn to anyone and would also definitely suggest it as a lovely B&B option as they have a number of rooms available too.

Spent a really good 3 nights here. Room was comfortable and we ate in every night. The food was very good home cooked and substantial portions. The staff were very friendly and I liked the fact that there were 4 electric car chargers in a large car park. The location in Kettlesing is very handy for Harrogate and walking in Wharfdale. A very good stay overall

The Queens Head is a family run traditional pub with accommodation, a very good lunch and evening menu and real ale as well as a wide selection of other beverages. If you stay, the traditional English Breakfast cooked to order is substantial and tasty. There were cereals and fruit juice.
A little off the beaten track but easily reached from the A59 there is ample car parking and electric charging points.
The rooms are clean and comfortable with the usual amenities and the owners are very hospitable.

Stayed here overnight whilst visiting a local gin distillery. It was a fantastic find. Staff friendly and really, really helpful, especially the landlady. Room was a really good size and spotless. The bathroom arrangement in ours was one of the best I have come across , a large corner bath with overhead shower to boot. Bed large and really comfortable. A separate resident access proved really helpful to sleep off the gin trip.
We ate here and are really pleased we did . Food fresh and ample, Haddock for main course was really nice - warning only the brave attempt three courses especially if you have the huge cheeseboard for pudding.
3 real ales all from that area ( Masham and Knaresborough) and a change not to see the usual Black Sheep - the YPA was perfectly kept and went down an absolute treat.
Breakfast was again freshly cooked and did not scrimp on quality or quantity (even passing my very strict sausage test).
All in all an excellent little country pub that I really cannot find fault with at all and would love to return to!
