Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Yorkshire Hotel boasts a prime central location, much to the delight of guests eager to explore Harrogate. Its breakfast variety and spotless rooms receive consistent praise, contributing to a positive experience. However, some travelers are dismayed by noise disturbances and inconsistent amenities.
Opinions on service and atmosphere are divided; staff friendliness is often celebrated, even as complaints surface about service lapses. Although many find the decor elegant, others consider it lackluster. Additionally, concerns about room size, temperature, and overpriced parking fees suggest the hotel's value proposition may not meet every guest's expectations.

Hotel's Favourite
We recently had a lovely stay at The Yorkshire to celebrate my 30th birthday. We had a king room with balcony. The room was beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. The staff had left me a 30th birthday card in the room also which was a lovely touch!
The bar, restaraunt and reception areas of the hotel are all finished to an extremely high standard and there were beautiful indoor and outdoor seating areas to enjoy food or drinks. The staff were very helpful and we felt went above and beyond to ensure our stay was a memorable one.
The hotel itself is very central with excellent access to lots of restaraunts bars as well as lots of lovely shops that Harrogate has to offer.
It was our first time staying here but we will absolutely be back again in the near future!
Thank you for a great stay!

Stayed here for a week whilst colouring the area. Was upgraded to a suite on the front first floor. Absolutely lovely room with a balcony that we frequently used. We had a nice sitting room and hardly heard a peep from anything all the time we were there. We kept the windows closed at night because of the traffic. Felt very Covid secure. Sanitiser all over the place. No one came into our room all week making it feel very safe, and replacement teas and coffees were left outside our door. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant. Food was to die for but the music was a bit too loud for us, though it did create a buzzing atmosphere. We parked in the Tower Street car park which does a night rate from 4 pm and it was just a 5 minute walk on the flat to the hotel. I would ha e no hesitation in returning to this lovely hotel.

Great rates available as this hotel has been undergoing extensive renovations recently. The room was a small double, brand new room and bathroom which was very comfortble and suberbly furnished. Staff were great and the food in the bar / restaurant were also very good. If you want to stay in Harrogate then check out the deals on offer as the location is unrivalled.

We had booked directly with the hotel. Our room was 104, a Kings Room with balcony. Check in was easy with hand sanitises around the hotel and a body temperature machine at both entrances. The room was spacious. Unfortunately the mattress needs to be replaced, both had a hollow in them. The room isn’t serviced each day because of the pandemic. Basic toiletries, tea and coffee left at the door each morning. Out room had a massive flat screen television. The bathroom was well set out with a double walk in shower. All the staff wear face coverings when walking around the hotel guests are asked to do the same. My wife is disabled, the flat level entrance is to the rear through the restaurant.
Parking is always an issue in Harrogate, but in all the years we have been staying at four star hotels in the town this is the first time we have been charged. If you are in a similar situation you are asked to contact the hotel in advance in order that a space will be reserved for your car. I did and when we arrived there was a traffic cone with my name attached to it. The charge is £12 a night, I’m sorry to say I regard this as a disabled person tax. But it is what it is. Breakfast was served at the table with all the usual items available. What did find strange with a hotel of this standing, restaurant staff wore normal clothing such a denim jeans.
All in all an enjoyable stay and will consider returning.

Stayed here last weekend for my birthday. We arrived just after 3pm and got a parking space outside (charged at £12 per night!) We checked in quickly by 2 lovely members of staff and went to our room. The room was lovely and well decorated, with a good sized bed and bathroom with shower with the choice if two shower heads (standard and rainfall). Plenty of loo roll left and some toiletries.
The bed had two pillows with two extra in the wardrobe. There was also a full sized ironing board, iron and hairdryer in the room.
To start the room was a little chilly bit after turning on the heater soon warmed up nicely. The curtains were thick to block out all the light so even in the morning it was nice and dark.
Theres two small lifts to get to higher floors as well as stairs. All corridors are well decorated, but still show the lovely features of an old hotel without looking run down.
Breakfast was on the top floor and has amazing views over harrogate. Again staff were lovely and friendly. We could choose a hot drink and order fried or poached eggs, which was lovely. There was a good range of food for breakfast including mushrooms, black pudding and potatoes.
I cant wait to come back again later in the year.

We needed to be overnight in Harrowgate for an event the next day and choose The Yorkshie - an enormous, magnificent old building right in the middle of Harrogate. It could not be more convenient to a wonderful selection of shops and amenities.
We had hotel parking on the doorstep for £12 per 24 hours
The hotel is very old but has been modernised and we had a lovely modern spotless bathroom with an environmentally friendly offering of toiletries. Our room was clean with a large very comfortable bed. Tea and coffee facilities in the room.
All staff were extremely helpful and charming. Breakfast was really excellent and served on the 5th floor with fantastic views over the beautiful town and across to North Yorkshire.
A really lovely characterful place to stay.

If you are looking for an outstanding hotel in the centre of Harrogate The Yorkshire is hard to beat and is rapidly becoming the town's favourite venue for business or pleasure, shopping, weddings and other special events. Under the direction of Managing Director Simon Cotton supported by Chantel, Chris, Dean, Catherine, Chloe, Dario and all The Yorkshire's first-rate team of friendly, hard-working professionals the hotel must be the envy of management at many other hotels in the town. The Yorkshire has recently undergone and is continuing a major makeover involving every aspect of the hotel and I very much look forward to my next visit. The management and all members of staff are very affable and responsive. During my frequent visits many have become good friends and i'm always sure of a warm welcome. There's a wide choice of very comfortable rooms receiving meticulous attention from the housekeeping team and a wonderful top floor restaurant and function room with unequalled views over the town centre and "Stray", a beautiful 200 acre park surrounded by magnificent trees. The top floor restaurant serves an excellent continental and full English buffet breakfast whilst the "Scran" restaurant and bar on the ground floor tempts guests and non-residents with a delicious selection of freshly prepared dishes created by Executive Chef Dean, complimented by a wide range of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails expertly prepared by Dario and the bar team. Overall The Yorkshire is good value and highly recommended!

We had already paid for 2 nights stay prior to our arrival. But on arrival decided we’d like to have breakfast in the hotel during our stay. We we’re told we’d have to pay then and there, which we did. However on check out we were told we had not settled our bill, and I was asked for the receipt, which I could not find. So I rather annoyingly had to log in to my online banking to prove I’d paid to the receptionist and hotel manager.
The hand towels on both beds had stains on them. When we went out the next day we put them in the shower cubicle hoping they’d be changed for fresh towels. Only when we got back to the room the towels had been rolled back up and put back on the beds along with the towels we’d used to shower that morning, which we’d hung up to dry but were still wet and rolled up.
It’s also shocking having to pay £12 per day to park your car, but if you go out for the day your space is not guaranteed when you return.

Nice hotel in a beautiful old building in the centre of Harrogate. We found the staff to be helpful and pleasant and the bedrooms appeared to have been fairly recently renovated to a good basic standard. Full covid procedures were in place and we felt very safe and relaxed during our 3 night stay. For safety reasons our room was not serviced each day but fresh towels were available on request and replacement coffee/tea sachets/milk were left outside our room each morning. Will have no hesitation in staying again on our next visit.

This luxurious hotel is situated in the centre of Harrogate and within easy walking distance of all the main sites and amenities. Our bebr4oom overlooked Betty's Café and The Stray - the two iconic features of Harrogate and only a short walk to The Pump Room.and Valley Gardens. Our initial concern was safety and this Hotel seemed to be very Covid-Safe. A machine at the door takes temperatures as guests entered and the reception area was well protected. Staff were very careful and considerate. Room service was a little different as no staff entre the room during each visitor's stay. Breakfast was good and we had a great evening meal.

Sorry I don’t know, but all staff were very helpful.
I am not sure because we ate and drank outside.
As hotel is in the centre of Harrogate It is about the right price. Many parking areas around, all pay, have a look on Google maps, it shows where they are and could tell you the cost and distance to hotel. If you are lucky you may get 1 night free, we did.
I think it was 3pm but I am sure if your room is ready they will let you in sooner
You need to contact the hotel.
