Room not nice for £239.00 for one night, over looked the bins. Staff unhelpful re car park, there are limited spaces, but no help to us to find a space in a car park. £239.00 didn't include the rubbish breakfast which was offered for an additional £15.00. Went to Greggs
Just got back from a bank holiday weekend away. Never stayed here before so was really looking forward to trying a different hotel, we wasn’t disappointed, it’s a beautiful building. Check in was so quick and easy, the reception staff very friendly and welcoming. Our room was overlooking the front with lovely views and one of them being Bettys tea rooms, bedroom was very well maintained and clean, bed was very very comfortable, bathroom was very modern and spotless. Had a delicious full English breakfast that was served by very good looking suited and booted gents. Communal areas very well kept with plenty of hand sanitiser throughout. Excellent choice of hotel and is a must if you’re staying in Harrogate.
We have just returned from a 2 night break at the Yorkshire hotel. The hotel is in a very convenient spot and it was easy to park outside the hotel which costs £15 per night. Check in was fine & staff where friendly. The hotel lobby and bar area are really nice with a good vibe and makes you feel like your in a 4 star hotel. The room well this is where it goes down hill. Our room was on the 4th floor and the lifts only allow 2 people in at a time. Room was 404 which was a large double deluxe room with a view to the front of the hotel, unfortunately I don’t think the rooms reflect the rest of the hotel. Although our room was recently refurbished it had an awful smell all I can describe as stale smoke which was so pungent especially in the bath room. The windows are all original sash windows and it was quite windy on Friday so they were rattling and letting air in, luckily it wasn’t to cold but I can imagine in winter it isn’t very warm. The heating is a squeaky electric heater which we couldn’t have on because it squeaked all the time. I did go to reception and ask if there was another room available and they did offer me 1 but was no better to be honest so stayed where we were. The room has no phone to contact reception so on the second day when we wasn’t left any towels I had to go all the way back down to ask reception for some. A young waitress brought us the towels and said I’ve found these in the airing cupboard when I asked if they were clean she said she didn’t know as that wasn’t her job and just asked to bring some to our room. Now I don’t want to pull the hotel down as it is in a great spot, got a fab bar restaurant area, staff were pleasant and the breakfast was ok but the rooms really let it down. I wouldn’t stay there again for this reason.…
The positives, Great location, central to town. Spotless room, hot shower, comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board. Fluffy white bath towels. The negatives, The most unwelcoming reception staff on arrival. Not one hello, welcome to the hotel, these are our facilities, nothing. We got, The payment is due upfront and this is yr room key. No we hope you enjoy yr stay, have you been to Harrogate before? nothing, silence. The most awkward check in I’ve ever experienced. Not the best start or impression to our stay. When we headed out the next day, not one good morning said when eye contact met or even acknowledgment had, and or, how was yr stay? when we checked out. One of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve had. You expect basic curtesy at the very least when paying for a stay in a nice hotel. The floor boards above our room was the loudest most creakiest ever. We could hear every step they made, and they seemed to be walking a marathon! The walls are paper thin and doors banging closed and people talking in the corridor can be heard throughout the night and early morning. The worst two nights sleep ever. Overnight parking in front of the hotel is £15 and very limited in spaces. £30 for a two night stay is pretty steep. Disappointing is a understatement.…
This is visually an impressive hotel on arrival, in a prime location, and it’s one of my favourite hotels in the town. The lobby area has a high end feel and checking in was a decent enough process with friendly staff. The lifts are very small, so if you’ve lots of luggage you might need to make a number of trips, and it’s worth noting that the parking out the front of the hotel is quite limited. The room itself was fairly small but I guess as expected for an old building. The decor was great and it was a really cosy vibe which was a delight to be in. There’s no air-conditioning and the room was fairly warm but fortunately the window fully opens with no restriction. My room overlooked the busy street below with bars and restaurants, so having the window open also meant there was a lot of noise, and the collection of bottles in the early hours of the morning gives a surprise wake-up call! Fortunately there was no other noise from the adjacent rooms though. The bed was a good size and very comfortable and the rest of the room had a high end feel with decent facilities. The bathroom had a huge shower area but annoyingly no shelf or any storage which made it a little awkward to use and the toiletries provided were very small. It was also a shame that the towels were rather ‘harsh’ and certainly not as fluffy as you dream of in a hotel. Other than that though the space was clean and complemented the rest of the room well with it’s design. There’s a really nice looking bar and restaurant on the ground level which unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to sample, but again it had great decor and looked like a very classy place. Overall it was a really enjoyable stay here and the few minor irritations with the room weren’t too much of an issue; if they have some good prices again I’d certainly return.…
Just returned from a two night break and what a treat it was !! Fantastic location and a beautiful hotel. Brilliant room at the front of the hotel with lovely views. Very comfortable bed and a stunning bathroom. Lovely spacious room. A great TV as well !! Breakfast was top notch with great choices. All staff were very professional and very polite. The lady who checked us in was credit to the Hotel.
Excellently placed hotel in the centre of Harrogate. Impressive building with loads of rooms. Good quality room with en-suite shower. Breakfast setting was wonderful - on the 5th floor with great views. Good choices in breakfast buffet. I did not try the on-site restaurant but the menu looked great. Limited parking at the hotel but plenty of on-street parking (metered) which can be pre-paid the night before.
Hotel very nice can’t fault it. We would definitely go again that’s for sure. Clean towels daily and bed made lovely staff very handy for shops too nice walks to go on as well hopefully see you again soon.
We arrived at the hotel welcomed by the friendliest reception staff. Was able to leave our bags as we were early for check in. Hotel very clean, right in the middle of harrogate, excellent breakfast on the 5th floor with stunning views of the town. Will book again as couldn't fault it. Mr and mrs Leese.
The hotel reception staff were very pleasant and efficient. The hotel itself was in good condition and a very pleasant place to be. Our room was perfect. Larger than expected with a huge, comfortable bed. The location was perfect for walking around Harrogate. I never really look forward to staying at UK hotels, but would stay here again.
