Bar staff 1 lady In particularly, asked for cutlery on the first night and was snubbed with a dirty look she didn’t even speak to me just got some one else to bring them in. And again today when u asked politely if there was someone behind bar working snubbed again with a dirty look no speaking again.. how rude especially in this industry.. this is my first ever review never thought I would be putting one up but tue look I’ve had iff this woman has really gotten to me.. 😂😂
A chain hotel but with a personal level of service from staff Comfortable room. Very quiet Excellent location with easy access to the M5 and to Kingsholm stadium Did not use catering facilities as I arrived late and left early Prices very appropriate for the standard
Great location just off main road, but no traffic noise. Clean and bright. Breakfast first class and staff really helpful, especially the Chef who was out checking everything in order. Super stay with great sleep. Housekeeping are doing a great job. Room was immaculate.
As a ‘business’ hotel ie a place you only stay because you have to/for location, they need to improve their business facilities. No plug socket near the bed so can’t charge your phone overnight & WiFi connection is terrible so you can’t get any work done! Disappointing & not good value for money.
The room very dated with a small old double bed, not a good start. Impossible to sleep without rolling into the middle of the bed. Food in the restaurant was awful and over priced. No idea how they produced the mash potato! You could build walls with it? Breakfast, however, was excellent. This used to be a regular overnight stay for us but not now. Car parking is good ...
Everything about this hotel is Modern and clean until you get to the bedrooms. They are Old, very dated, small and the bathroom was mouldy. I stayed here for work over the month I stayed in 4 different rooms they were all terrible. Breakfast is good, food in bar is expensive.
Expected better, staff as friendly as they could be. Plenty of parking. Rooms seriously need updating, along with the bathrooms, including the not so powerful showers. Swimming pool, sauna and steam room also need a facelift. Breakfast was nice and location quiet.
From the moment you walk in things feel wrong. Clinical ,sterile and cold reception. The 'card machine isn't working' we;ll ket you into your room but you'll have to come back for a keycard when it is ready...when will that be?...we don't know and it is left in the ether. We are let in to a pokey little room with the outlook of brick wall, never mind, it's only for one night. Then you look a bit closer for over £100 a night. Chipped paintwork, curtains hanging from threads and general unpleasant feel about the room and the welcome, along with dubious claims for a 'modern, smart hotel' from the website. The worst bit is the night's sleep. Probably the worst mattress in any hotel of claimed quality that I've ever slept in, and there's been a few. The crevasse in the middle of the mattress made sleeping impossible...do you sleep on the edge of the bed and risk rolling into the middle or rolling out completely on to the floor or do you just bump into your partner in the middle...any movement either way and everyone moves. Disgraceful, I defy the manager and their partner to get a decent night's sleep in that room. The receptionist said she would raise it with the management, it felt insincere and as I had no response I think my feelings aren't wrong. Only redeeming feature of the hotel is the breakfast...Travelodge, Ibis or Premier next time. Last time I think I'll bother with this hotel and probably the IHG themselves. Definitely one to avoid!…
My stay was fine, the room executive was a good size ( premier inn size ) bed was comfy and had everything I needed However the room is dated and this is certainly the worst holiday I’ve been to for level of room. It needs a revamp asap. The staff throughout were great and all happy. The restaurant area appears to of had a revamp and is actually nice area to be.
Check in was swift and friendly, room was quite a disappointment, I have frequented many HI’s with work over the last 2 years and disappointingly as this trip was pleasure , this one was by far the most dated I have come across, I remember the 1980’s with fondness but don’t wish to go back and sleep in it. Our room was very very tired, the shower had dreadfully low pressure. The bed itself was clean and comfy, as stated all staff we spoke to were friendly
