Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed at the Edward hotel for a few nights a week for about 6 months as I was on placement for my psychology doctorate nearby. I really enjoyed my stay each time. The location is close to the hospital, shops and it was a nice walk to Gloucester Quays for a lovely meal out with a colleague. The hotel was always a lovely temperature, rooms spotlessly clean, and a super comfy bed. Breakfast was lovely. It is family run by Karen and Sinjun and it's clear that they care about the hotel and guests. I knew we were in good hands and if we had any problems they would do all they could to help. It was lovely to have somewhere to settle down while away from home. There is a guest kitchen to use if needed but there is also a microwave, fridge and kettle in each room. Plus the tea, hot chocolate and biscuits in the room was a nice touch! Some rooms require a few stairs to navigate but other than that it is a great place to stay.

Stayed here on a short break with my partner, staff were lovely, breakfast was delicious. Room was nice and warm with a comfortable bed, everything was clean and tidy. Staff were lovely and helpful, giving us advice on our stay. Location is only a 5-10 minutes walk from the centre. And has ample parking if you needed to drive.

This is a great place to stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. It is only a short walk to the city centre and so we were able to leave our car in the hotel car park. The hotel was clean and quiet and the room was spacious and had a very comfortable bed.

Visited this hotel for the recent flower festival at the Cathedral. On arrival we were greeted by friendly helpful staff who showed us to our room on the ground floor. It was a very nice room, having its own separate entrance room (with its own TV, microwave, fridge and chairs) which also made useful extra space for our cases / clothes etc. The room itself was nice, spacious and clean with a clean tidy shower / WC room too. The king size bed and mattress was a highlight, being really comfortable and allowing a good night's sleep after a busy day. We only had one breakfast during our stay which was very enjoyable and good value for money. Another plus point was that it is only a 10-15 walk from the city center but has good parking (always an important point for me). I can't really find anything bad to say about this hotel and would definitely use it again if visiting the area.

It seems it is family run hotel. The staff are nice, professional and always ready to help with any enquiries. Each en-suite room has a TV, microwave and fridge. Another bonus to this hotel services is the fact that there is laundry services. Some areas of the hotel have floor boards making creaky noises and can be a nuisance if there is a customer who does not consider other people in another room beside your room. At Christmas the Hotel cooked Xmas meal for the customers for free of charge. I found that a good gesture.

We have stayed at the Edward Hotel several times over the years when visiting Gloucester Cajun & Zydeco festival. Each time we have been greeted like old friends. We’ve also had the experience of staying in different rooms when visiting. Each time the beds are really comfortable, lovely bed linen, clean towels & the rooms are clean with some well thought out extra touches The breakfasts have also never disappointed. Today we were one of the last to the dining room but the breakfast was freshly made (not like some places where food is left standing) My husband & I can’t believe The Edward hotel is classed as a two star, it’s definitely a lovely four star home from home to us. Thank you team Edward

I moved in to Edward hotel in July 2022. It looks like a family run hotel. The staff are very polite, professional and nice. No job is too much for them. Karen is quiet and nice. She is happy to help always with a smile. The male manager is kind as well. He is very understanding of customers situation. All the staff are proactive and helpful. Rooms are clean and tidy. The microwave and TV in each room is quite a good idea. New set of towels supplied at all times and it’s a bonus that laundry service is available on request. Although they still have a small kitchen for customers to prepare food. I set off the alarm during my cooking twice! Felt bad about it but they were understanding and action taken. I recommend this hotel to everyone. It is home away from home. Lovely hotel and lovely staff.

We popped up to Gloucester for a Rock Festival, and needed somewhere that we could rest our weary heads for a couple of nights. The Check In was very quick and simple. The lady gave us all the information that we needed. The Room was lovely. We were there in a Cold Spell, but the radiator was on, so it felt very toasty in our room. The bed was comfortable, and the shower felt both hot enough and powerful enough to do it's job We booked Breakfast as an extra for both mornings, and they were excellent. Definitely well worth the money. All of the staff that we met were friendly and helpful. Checkout was also very quick ad simple. Overall, we had a great time in Gloucester, and if we come back, this is where we'd like to stay.
