First time I have stayed at Whitefriars in Nottingham, but it won't be the last. Superb accommodation in the centre of the City. The photos uploaded show the comfort and facilities, which you don't get for this price at a hotel. Booking was easy, and any queries were quickly answered by very friendly people at The Stay Company. Recommended

Sophie has been very understanding and helpful with advice over having to amend booking due to Coronavirus . Prior to this we had asked for some additional requests with our booking which were all accommodated.

We look forward to coming to stay with you later in the year - fingers crossed!

It was my sisters 50th birthday and we needed to stay in Derby. Friar Gate was perfect for us. The location worked and the very comfortable and well furnished accommodation meant we had a very enjoyable family weekend.

Good location, great asset the parking & fairly quiet. However not a secure carpark as advertised, as the main gate is never closed or locked? Easy check in via a safety key box.
Nice touch leaving milk & water in the fridge & liked the packet of cereal but bit strange only leaving one when there were 2 guests??
Things that I think make it not a deluxe apartment, no mirror in the bedroom to style/dry you hair, so had to use the small mirror on the wardrobe which was stuck at one side, which meant trying to use a brush with a hairdryer was nearly impossible, as my arm kept hitting the wall & even more difficult when coming to use my hair straightener. A small vanity mirror on the dressing table could easily rectify this, or alternatively a plug socket somewhere else in the room & a mirror put up on the wall. Had to move the wardrobe out to even use the plug socket, which seems ridiculous, as couldn’t get to use it any other way? All heaters were turned off when we arrived, so apartment was very cold, we turned the power to each one on & went out, so there was time for it to warm up. Bed very low in the bedroom & no blinds, just curtains. Table in the kitchen was in the way of getting in the cupboard, which we had to move each time we went under there to get coats etc.. a smaller table with chairs underneath would be much better. The whole apartment is quite small, considering it is supposed to be a deluxe. A pair of socks were left on the ironing board? No idea whose these were & I would have thought had the apartment been cleaned properly, then these would have been removed by the cleaner? Shower a good size & very clean, liked the toiletries provided. Overall nice apartment but just some things disappointing which is a shame, as they could so easily be sorted.

We booked this room for our stay in Derby.

Great for families and friends to stay in the city, short walk to town and near by cafes bars etc.

Expected more from the company in terms of the rooms and bathrooms in particular

The lighting was activated by motion sender. This meant that the guest in the bedroom with the main bathroom activated the light everytime they went to the bathroom. This would take around 20/25 minutes to turn back off again.

The curtains weren’t blackout. The photo of the hall from the bedroom was taken at 4;30 in the morning to show how light the room was at that time. This woke us up every morning.

The state of the bathrooms was poor, there was a lot of mold and staining of the skirting boards and grout around the bathroom and en-suite. Very un appealing to look at, felt dirty.

The size of the bedroom was very small for a double bed, not impressed. Couldn’t get to balcony without stepping on to bed. The photos show the gap between the bed a wall.

We requested a lower ground floor room, our room was built under stairs, these were very loud when other guests would walk up and down late night early morning, due to the old building.

The location was great but we wouldn’t stay again.

The Stay Company in Derby is a very handy and nice place to stay. I stayed here when my house was being renovated and needed somewhere local, not too high a price but somewhere that I could be "at home" in. If you wanted to do self catering, be home from home, in a clean environment (left alone and not hassled in anyway) with support if you need it - very local to town this is the place for you. Each room had everything you need (utensils, nice shower, microwave, cooker etc) and comfy bed. Can be like any other hotel be noisy at times but thats the clients not the company. Enjoy

The apartment was clean, modern and spacious.
Was a solo trip in great a location footsteps away from the town centre. Its also close to lots of amenities. I actually stayed as a part of a solo wellness weekend for myself and the flat had absolutely everything so i didnt need to leave to buy anything extra unless i needed/wanted to. All utensils were provided to be able to cook a meal. They even provided complimentary breakfast items such as cereals, milk and snacks. Free secure car parking was available right outside the apartment block. Netflix worked like a charm so i had entertainment throughout my stay. Check-in was really smooth...theres quite a fair bit of instructions but if you take your time as your following them it all becomes clear and straightforward. The apartment even had a small outside area attached to the bedroom so if you needed some fresh air without actually fully leaving the apartment there was access. I would 100% be staying again the room was PERFECT for myself and would also be perfect for a couple.
The hosts did a superb job to provide everything to be able to have a self-sufficient stay, i did however forget toothpaste so i would have definitely benefited from it if it was provided within the vanity pack. But 10/10 as i thoroughly enjoyed my stay to the point where i actually wanted to book another night but to no surprise it was fully booked. Thank you stay company!

We cannot thank the Stay Company enough for all their hard work. They have consistently provided a great service and met all our needs. We had a large group booking of nine rooms for approximately four months. Dan and Beth were brilliant throughout the entire booking process and were always on hand to answer questions. They and the rest of the team went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. Parking is ample and the rooms are in good condition. We would not hesitate to return and hope to do so in the near future. We highly recommend The Stay Company .

Still thinking about my stay ! Theirs nothing I can fault. Such a beautiful property, so spaces and very clean nothing missing all essentials are in this accomodation. Its very close to the city centre and my partner and kids loved it host were great whenever i sent a message or called (my interactions were nothing to do with the property but an enquiry about later check out and to apologise for the delay in paying my deposit which I paid on the morning of my stay ) I generally cannot wait to book again and in the same property but this time a little longer hoping to book a 4 night / 1 week in the school holiday . I actually miss being their in all fairness. Will highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Derby . Thank you once again to the host and such speedy response with my enquiries. I look forward to booking again and in my 3rd home aha! 😄
