This is the 6th or 7th time we are returning to this hotel and it just keeps getting better.

The staff are amazing! So friendly, nothing is too much trouble.

When we arrived there were new beds , so we were the first to sleep in them and they were a dream.

The hotel was clean. Room was warm but the fan was a great addition, thank you.

Breakfast was brilliant.

Free car park. Short drive to shops.

Just great. Have already rebooked for NYE!

We a family of three stayed for two nights.

Although the staff were lovely we wouldn’t probably return for a few reasons.

Firstly we were in room 11 and the extractor fan in the bathroom was so loud that every time we’d enter exit we’d have to shut the door behind us. As I’m diabetic and use the toilet several times during the night this was a disturbance to the others.

When booking you are given the option to pay extra for faster internet but we were happy with standard WiFi but unfortunately standard WIFI is non existent so we were all tethering off my husband unlimited mobile WiFi.

Finally I found the pillows very thick which made a very uncomfortable sleep. Unfortunately the hotel had no other options.

Other positives about this hotel apart from friendly staff is that it’s located by a nice shopping complex which includes McDonald’s, a massive Iceland and home bargains and a big Sainsbury’s with a petrol station.

Our room was equipped with a kettle and complimentary tea coffee milk and sugar etc.
I don’t think they have air conditioning but they have a fan.
Shower gel, shampoo and hand wash is provided via dispenser on the walls . Also you’ll find a hair dryer and nice tv.

They have a nice bar/eating area that you can chill out at and also you can have breakfast there at an additional cost.

The beds and shower were great.

If you want your room cleaned you have to inform reception.

So all in all it’s up to the individual. If we were to return it would have to be in a room with a less noisier extractor fan and I’d bring my own pillow!

Stayed at this premium Inn for 2 nights in 2 rooms ( my daughters were in room 105 & and myself and my wife were in room138), despite phoning up prior to our arrival and asking to have rooms as close to each other as possible and being told they are on the opposite ends of the hotel but the receptionist then said he moved the rooms closer we were still on the complete opposite ends of the hotel, luckily my daughters (age 20 and 11) were happy to stay in their room as it was on the same floor, the rooms were extremely hot ( I understand we are in a mini heatwave) but every other premium inn we've stayed in has always had air conditioning, there was a fan supplied but made no difference to the room temperature this meant we didn't sleep well at all, so much for a good night sleep guaranteed, think we slept much more than 2 hours each night, which made our trip to alton towers extremely tiring, (also the fan clearly hasn't been used for a long time as it was covered in dust which when we turned the fan on went everywhere, the hotel is in a good location if you are attending a football match or event at pride Park, check inn was quick and simple and the receptionist was very polite. We didn't eat here so can't comment on the restaurant or bar. We used this hotel as a base for our family weekend at alton towers as this was the closet premier inn available for our dates, it was about 30 mins drive away which was fine. I wouldn't stay at this premier inn again in the summertime only due to the rooms having no air con which again meant we didn't sleep much during our 2 night stay, such a shame to have these issues as we have used premier inns almost every tike we go away due to the comfort of sleep and price.

Took a short late summer break and booked for four nights. Have stayed here before the Covid 19 Pandemic but we were a little apprehensive this time round.
Found the arrangements a good antidote to any anxiety. Staff were very welcoming and happy to answer any questions. Care was taken to avoid or minimise any contact concerns. Replacement towels and tea making ingredients available in pre- sealed bags. A good policy of ‘ask for anything you need’ including the cleaning service.
ALL staff very helpful particularly Ben, Lawrence and Zoe.

I stayed in this hotel on 4th February and was due to say for 2 nights but this only turned into 1. The short story is that I was working at the desk in the room and as it approached midnight I took my medication, one of the side effects being it makes me sleepy. I then went to get into the bed and was greeted with what I can only describe as faecal matter on the top of the duvet. I obviously didn't want to use this sheet but I am an extremely anxious person and couldn't cope with speaking to staff, hence the medication. I did my best to clean this up myself using toilet paper and water and then I had to rotate the duvet cover so that that section was the furthest away from me as I could get it. I didn't sleep too well. The following morning I checked out and contacted the hotel about what had happened.

This is part of the response:

"Because we value your custom and as a gesture of good will, I have arranged for £29.00 to be refunded to you for the first night of your stay. We’ll credit this back to the card you used to pay – it should reach your account in the next 3–5 working days. We’ve also emailed you a credit invoice.

Unfortunately, as you booked with our Standard rate and have decided to check out early, we cannot refund you for the second night of your stay as the issues were not reported to the reception team and they weren't given a chance to rectify the issue for you."

Considering the issue with the room why would I have wanted to stay for an extra night? I wouldn't have stayed on the first night had I noticed the disgusting mess as I entered the room.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent experience when staying and guest contacting the Guest Relations Team. We're sorry to see that you had problems with cleanliness during your stay, this isn't the experience we would expect for guests when staying. As part of our CleanProtect ™ promise all rooms are checked prior to occupancy and rooms will not be allocated to guests until a full audit has been carried out and we are happy that we have adhered to our strict housekeeping guidelines so it is a shame to know that part of this were missed on this occasion. We've passed your feedback to the Hotel Management for review, and they'll make sure this is picked up with the team internally. If you're unhappy with the response from the Guest Relations Team, we can advise responding to the email, to see if they can assist you further. Again, our apologies and thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention. We hope that we can look forward to welcoming you back to one of our hotels again soon for a more enjoyable stay. Kind regards, Lauren

The Derby East premier inn is outstanding for customer service. I have stayed in a considerable number of premier inns and other hotel chains through work over the last three years and can quite confidently say this is far superior for customer service. Its evident its an extremely well managed site. The whole team are professional, obliging and very friendly. I have stayed here through the covid pandemic and i have felt safe and secure throughout. The hotel has been kept spotless and the staff can be regularly seen wiping handrails and handles. I would most certainly recommend this hotel to anyone, exceptional service and amazing value. Thank-you to Dan,Ben and the whole team for making me feel like a truly valued customer.

This was an overnight experiment to see if the £20 difference in price over the existing rate at the nearby Travelodge Pride Park was worth it. Overall, this was a good stay but it needed to be a lot more than that to justify the difference and when I came back through a couple of days later, I went to the Travelodge.

As I say, there wasn't much wrong with the Premier Inn, although I'd have liked the option of decaffeinated coffee as part of the tea/coffee room facility. Also, if you're going here, Pride Park is undergoing a massive revamp. I arrived after sunset and missed a confusing exit at a roundabout close to the hotel. Because of this, I passed the hotel on the wrong side and it was another 20-25 minutes before I'd negotiated Derby's nightmare ring road system and found my way back!! My fault partly, but it is an issue.

Writing this via my mobile hotspot which I can just about get from the inside door of the lobby at Premier Inn Derby East. I have just read of a similar problem at Premier Inn Hereford which has spurred me on to write this. People need to know and put pressure on Premier Inn/Virgin to resolve this. I have had 2 stays at Premier Inns this summer. The first was in Gargrave, North Yorkshire. My Windows PC Laptop will NOT connect to the wifi. They have given me a free ultimate login to try both times but the issue is the verification page will not boot up. My PC shows the network is there but when I try to connect it shows an error. There is no way to put my details in anywhere. I have read all the "hacks" available such as inputting the hotel's IP address. It simply doesn't work. And to add insult to injury I cannot get any signal on my phone in the room so I can't even set up a hotspot.

Premier Inn has always been my "go to". Having phoned the Virgin helpline in August and have them blame a Windows update that would shortly be resolved I have chosen Premier Inn again now it is October. But the same issue is there.
Have had to work from my car in the car park all of yesterday to get a hotspot. Fortunately this morning I have found a corner of the lobby where my phone has signal.

Whatever Premier Inn/Virgin have changed, its not good enough. Come on guys, sort it out. This will be my last stay having been a faithful customer. You have lost the people from Hereford who are moving to Holiday Inn. How many more will be switching before you get this resolved?

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to review our Derby East hotel. Whilst we're happy you stayed with us, we're sorry for the issues you had with waiting times, food quality and stock levels during breakfast. We can imagine this left you feeling let down and this certainly isn't how we want our guests to feel. We'd like to assure you your comments will be raised with the Hotel Manager to see what improvements can be made going forward. We wouldn't want these standards to continue so the Breakfast Team will be informed to ensure any necessary retraining is arranged and the best service is being provided. We hope this doesn't make you think twice about returning so please have confidence this isn't our usual standard and your review will be picked up. Thanks again for getting in touch and we hope to welcome you back soon. Ricky

Had to stay in Derby over night whilst having some work done to my car so picked the Premier Inn purely based on location i generally like a little more luxury and facility's when staying away. However i was really surprised with the whole Premier Inn experience from the phone call the day before arrival asking if i would like any food in the restaurant to sorting me an early check in.On arrival the staff could not have been more accommodating and this continued throughout my entire stay i was extremely impressed with the whole experience and would not hesitate to stay there again also only £4.00 pounds in a cab to town centre.

Probably about a 20 - 30 minute walk. Be careful though as there's lots of road works happening on the retail park meaning some foot paths aren't accessible.
