We're looking forward to welcoming you to The King's Highway in Derby. A real family-friendly pub serving pub classics and a traditional carvery every day of the week, this is a great place to eat, meet, and relax. The kids will love our play areas: there's an outdoor play zone for sunny days, and an indoor toy corner too. So when they've finished playing with the games, you can treat them to something from our children's menu which is full of favourite. Bring the whole family, and don't forget to sample our brilliant range of beers, cask ales, and wines.

We decided on a early lunch here. As we will be staying over soon with family in derby. Lovely atmosphere. Was told to pick any table. Menus was present on table great to find a carvary available on a week day. We all four of us went for it. I was a bit worried. When I saw the meats. Luckily the beef was on its end so nice on the other.sideYoung lady bought a new turkey crown out. So I was happy. Had both. And they was both delicious All vegetables. Lovely gravy excellent. Yorkshire pudd nice. Love polite young lady blonde hair serving us apologised for keeping us waiting. Whilst she got the. Turkey. All happy at the table. Lady came to see everything was good Which it was Lovely . bar staff. Very attentive We had soft drinks which was fine. And decided to have desserts which was both very enjoyable. I my opinion it was 9 out of ten. One of the best cavery s I’ve had. Lovely surroundings not too loud. Very clean. Will definitely going back for Christmas family party. Thank you too all the staff. Who try there best in these uncertain times. Well done. From the Jensch’s.

We stayed here for 2 nights , the room was lovely and clean and I would definitely stay here again and the evening meal in the resultant was lovely and Emily is fantastic, however, breakfast really let this place down and made us leave on a sour note. If we came back we would go elsewhere for breakfast so please avoid in the morning, We arrived for breakfast at 9.30 and there were only around 4 tables taken so not busy. We waited 20 mins before our order was taken and then had to wait a further 20 mins for our hot drinks, my coffee was stone cold and the tea did not arrive, this was chased and after a further 10 mins it was still nowhere to be seen and never did arrived. 1 hour and 15 mis after ordering our breakfast arrived, one of the orders was wrong and the food was stone cold with over cooked sausages to the point you could not eat them. I did speak with the waitress when making payment but she just shrugged and did not really care and £8 for cold overcooked breakfasts per person is disgusting.

We walk in and there is a sign to use the NHS track and trace but if you haven't got it then to give your details to a member of staff. No staff asked us to do this or checked we did it. We found a table and it says to scan the table barcode to order. Awesome no queueing to order food except it didn't work on my phone saying session unavailable so my friend tried and it again said session unavailable. I went up to the bar and told the staff member and he replied that it wasn't turned on. He wasn't interested. It felt like he didn't want to be there. 30 mins after ordering the starter arrived. It was hot and nice. The waitress was lovely and helpful. Over an hour after ordering our main meals arrived. The sausages were really dry and the hunters chicken covered in grease. Apart from the waitress the place was rubbish and we wasn't told of the long wait time for food when ordering or we would have gone somewhere else.

Booked a table online for 20:00pm was fine on the website, I received a phone call at 18:30 saying the kitchen is closing at 20:00 I asked if we could come earlier, was told yes come for 19:00, we arrived the server said the kitchen is closing at 19:00 we went to order and was told there’s not much left so didn’t want us to order a carvery when there’s not much food left, why have bookings available til 20:15 if they can’t fulfill the orders? Went to Toby carvery instead.
