Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not a hotel for sure. Small rooms. Toilets across the landing with horrible smell as no windows. Breakfast finishes at 9am. No lift. Tv OK with netflix built in was a plus. No heat in the morning in our room. I suppose you get what you pay for but booking.com need to change the accommodation type from hotel to room only.

Not as bad as some of the reviews on here but I can definitely see why they had been written. As soon as you arrive the place looks rough, the main sign is damaged with wires hanging off. Check in was weird, friendly staff. The room was average size, good size tv, sockets with usb points. Unfortunately shared bathroom (didn’t notice this online) breakfast was okay. This hotel clearly attracts rough people.I wouldn’t stay here again.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. We were quoted at £65 for what was apparently the largest suite in the hotel (it was two probably 3/4 sized beds) and were told that to add an extra party would cost £15. On arrival, we were told the price was £95 by a very unapologetic staff member. We were eventually able to speak with the person that we spoke to on the phone who said he wasn't at his desk at the time of quoting. The next morning, we were able to speak with him and he appeared arrogant and rude in his attitude telling us that we were getting a good deal because he was cooking us breakfast and washing the bed sheets. He ended up giving us £5 back in cash at the end because in his words, "any more and it's not worth my time."

Had a one night stopover here, right price quite a decent location beautiful building very nice staff nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast in the morning morning was cooked to order and very good quality We really enjoyed it. ⭐️
The only thing that put a damper on the experience was being in the basement we had been given an option of a smaller room ground floor, but were informed that the basement would be comfortable however we did find it quite dark and felt slightly claustrophobic. it did have a smart TV which was great because we could watch our own films on Netflix.
Yes we would stay again but we wouldn’t have the room in the basement

I booked this hotel via Booking.com. I was not able to stay here in the end, so I cancelled my booking. As per the cancellation policy, I was entitled to a full refund. I contacted the hotel to ask when this would be issued, and I was told within 5 working days. I waited and still didn't receive a refund, so I reached out to them again, and I was told that the refund would be issued the following week. This of course did not happen, and after contacting them again, they stopped responding. I've now had to raise this issue with Booking.com directly. It has been nearly a month now and I have still not received a refund. I would certainly advise against booking with this hotel as they are clearly using loopholes to unfairly keep money which is owed.

Very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, clean and convenient. Free parking, easy to walk into town.

One thing though - they really need new pillows and mattresses, the ones in our room were a bit old.

But a good place nevertheless.

Room was tiny for two adults with hardly any floor space , the mattress had more lumps the the school custard ..
As for the shared bathroom the mould that was in the shower was disgusting , after a very restless sleep the breakfast wasn't much better the hash browns were very soggy and the rest was barely even warm.
Certainly wouldn't recommend staying here .
The only positive was the warm welcome we had

Not a bad word to say. Good location. Great price for what you get (breakfast included was really nice, and plenty of variety) and attentive staff. With the added bonus of a pool table and big screen TVs. I’ll certainly stay here again when I’m in Derby.

I stayed here in a twin room for an event at donington park and didn’t find any issues with it whatsoever. The room was clean, small but had everything we needed for a night. The bathrooms aren’t in the rooms but there were plenty dotted around near the bedrooms so this wasn’t an issue. Showers were good as well.

The area that it’s in perhaps isn’t the most illustrious part of the city & I didn’t particularly enjoy wandering around but the hotel doesn’t reflect that at all. Plenty parking outside the hotel. For the price I thought the services we got were ideal.

Got a fully cooked English breakfast which was lovely, couldn’t fault anything.
