The level of service is still a little bit touch and go but on a whole it is great.
Booking in we recieved our key and instructions to the room. Covid signs are clear and easy to read and hand sanitiser is available at the entrance. Unfortunately we didn't get any information on the restaurant or breakfast and the need to book slots. Fortunately after putting our stuff in the room we returned to reception and a different lady was on. She explained how you needed to book in for the restaurant.
The room was a typical lovely premier inn room with its comfy bed and lat screen tv that you can screencast your phone to allowing you to watch netlix ect. Tea and coffee was plentiful and in little pre made bags and the room was very fresh and well cleaned. We stayed on the 5th floor and the 2 lifts never got crowded.
The restaurant is a Thyme one. Staffed by the premier inn staff it was busy on a Saturday night but not uncomfortable. At all times we felt relaxed and at ease with the covid precautions put in place. The staff on both evenings, Saturday and Sunday, we're great especially the two ladies that staffed both the restaurant and reception. They made sure everything was OK for us. On the Sunday morning Unfortunately, with different staff on, the system failed a little. It seemed very rushed and we missed out on a majority of the items available to us simply because they seemed to want us in and out as quick as possible.
All in all it was great to be staying at a premier inn again and having previously stayed at this hotel I would definitely stay again.

We stayed here as we were attending a funeral. We were unaware that there was no hotel carpark. We had to ask about the 20% discount for the public urine soaked carpark across the road. It was £8 for 24hrs and you simply keep the payment card from the entry machine and then pay at the exit machine. You must zap the card at the hotel reception to get 20% discount which had not been explained to us initially. The carpark lift does not work and the carpark stunk of urine, which was disgusting as a first impression.

We are our breakfast and dinner on the deal option which was value for money. The food was delicious. We had chicken wings starter then hunters chicken and beef burger for mains. The food was well cooked and service excellent. The breakfast was very nice and served well.

The room was warm and clean with a deep bath and plenty of towels. We enjoyed our stay and will return to the city in the near future.

We walked to the main city centre using a network of shortcut alleyways. We enjoyed the range of niknaks shops and were recommended the wonderful Brown’s cafe in the Eagle indoor market for a wonderful tea cake and mug of tea. It was very cheap and value for money. We bought lots of fresh fruit and gifts

The hotel is located very centrally for the local shops. the cathedral and the Museum of Making. There are a number of disabled parking spaces directly across the road which with careful timing can be occupied from 5pm to 11am if a blue badge holder. For others there is a multi storey across the road available with a discount for hotel guests.

Reception is small but efficient, with staff covering a number of roles, so reception could be unmanned. As a disabled guest, I was given an accessible room which had plenty of space and a large wet room with supports. The fire doors outside were light and easy to open from a chair. Bed was comfortable and there was no noise.

Breakfast was buffet style and of good quality. The menu for evening meal was very fast food based, but the main problem was than so many items were missing, with no substitute and no price reduction. We were told they had not offered any pizzas for a month because of supplies. How can this happen for a large chain, seeing as every other provider of pizzas was operating normally? Also chutney missing from curry, certain bread items missing and so on. Staff also seemed unsure of which drinks were available on the meal deal.

So, sort out the evening dining, and this will be a very good hotel.

We stayed for a wedding close by and the hotel is in a great location with easy parking across the road at a discounted price.

The check in process was long and slow. The machines weren’t working which meant we had to wait about 10 minutes to check in.

The room we were allocated was clean and tidy but the bedding was all ripped. This was hidden under the duvet side so obviously known so it wasn’t put on the top of the bed. The room was extremely hot during the evening and night with the resultant broken air con. We were offered a desk fan which was probably better placed as an ornament in the room but it did provide some air relief. We were told we could have our money back for that night but no clear instructions on how to do this.

We were moved to a new room on the second day which was much better with working air con but the tea and coffee stand hadn’t been refilled and the bedroom bin hadnt been emptied. We didn’t complain about this , we were just grateful of the new room.

I have tried to contact premier inn regarding a refund for the first night but it is impossible to get through to any human. You are told the lines are busy and you get automatically hung up. I have enquired via email to guest relations but there is a 35 day (!!) response period. I know times are hard but 35 days is not a great response time for a large company like premier inn.

Marked as average due to our small hiccups but would stay here again and use premier inns again.

Been staying here since April and in fairness it is a good hotel, and it’s quite modern and well situated. There is however one major issue which this branch needs to get a grip of and that is the servicing of the rooms. I am sick of hearing when I not unreasonably ask at reception for my room to be cleaned to be told ‘I’ll ask the head of housekeeping’ - and this morning I was told that because I’d had it cleaned once already in a 4 night stay ‘I doubt she’ll agree’. It’s a hotel for goodness sake, I want dry towels and the place tidied up. There’s a notice in the room saying that they don’t automatically clean the rooms, but if guests want it cleaned every day then all they have to do is ask at reception. I’ve had to wash coffee cups in the sink and go down to reception to get coffee sachets. Eventually after speaking to the manager it was done, but it shouldn’t be a battle. I’ve spent thousands here this year, but sadly I’m going to look elsewhere next time I’m in Derby. Perhaps the ‘Head of housekeeping’ needs to remind herself of her Job Description.

Well, let me begin by saying we have stayed in many many Premier Inn's over the years, and this one is by far the best.
The staff here are all lovely, but a extra special mention to Mark who was a legend, very polite and fantastic customer service. Every Premier Inn needs a 'Mark' on their team, top notch

Note:
Parking is in a secure multi storey across the road, only £4.50 per 24hrs, but you can validate you ticket for 20% off.
Very central location and quiet

The hotel is centrally located in the Cathedral District just down the road from two excellent pubs (just turn right out the door and follow the road back up and round the bend). There is no on-site parking, the road parking outside is not really appropriate as its two hours only which runs from 8am to 7pm. So technically you can park outside overnight but charges kick in at 8am, however there is a very secure (not just barriers but metal gates that slide open as you enter the carpark) multi-storey directly across the road. The hotel is as you would find any Premier Inn, clean and comfortable, however special praise must go to the restaurant staff. In the restaurant nothing was to much for the guests, during these difficult types with covid restrictions, they worked their socks off to ensure everyone had everything they needed. The ladies working the tables in the restaurant didn't just do their job they went the extra mile to ensure all the guests had an excellent breakfast experience.

We booked last minute after problems with other accommodation and were pleasantly surprised. The accessible room we was in was very spacious and clean and in typical premier inn style. Staff were friendly and on request for extra towels these were delivered within 5 minutes of asking. The car parking is convenient and secure in terms of car entry but anyone can walk in by foot (demonstrated by people skateboarding in there) although no problems caused. Also only works out as a couple of pounds to park overnight with the discount. Stayed to visit Alton towers and drive is only around 40 minutes from here so very convenient for that purpose. Went for dinner in pizza express one night which was lovely and only a 5 minute walk. Overall a nice stay and probably would return if in the area.

We have stayed at this Premier Inn many times in the past and its always been a comfortable stay, quiet rooms and friendly staff. The room was fine apart from only having one towel between two people and 1 single pillow each. We requested another towel and additional pillows which were brought to us without issue. The major problem in the room was the heating/cooling system, the room was so warm we couldn't physically stay in it for a prolonged period of time, 4th floor so unable to open any window. When advising the staff of this we were told the temprature of the rooms was being controlled by the main system downstairs, meaning we couldn't alter the room temp without having to contact reception which was just ridiculous, Four occasions over three days we had to request for the temperature to be changed, why on earth they are not letting customers control the temperature of the room is beyond me, the only reason I can think of is cost cutting, it costs money to heat and cool rooms I suppose. All in all it tainted the stay which is a shame as the hotel as a whole is spot on usually.

Booked a room for two for two nights and only received one towel between the two of us, minimal shower gel, hand wash and toilet roll available. When approaching reception someone was not always available and made it awkward to ask. Bed was very squeaky and uncomfortable. Otherwise reception was friendly, room was clean and location was perfect for what we needed.
