Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just now we got a letter from the parking are which we paid that we fined by 100£ for the night we stayed there. How is it possible to have such a fine while all the reception knows our car parked there and we've already paid our car park fee? I think they are trying to scam us. Also this particular issue isn't happing just us, there are different reveiws about the same issue here that can be found. This is not how a respectable hotel should treat their customer.

Please be assured that we take this matter seriously, and we want to assure you that our operations are not intended to be misleading or fraudulent. The car park is managed by an external parking company, please ensure that the correct registration number is entered on the console at reception and the “confirm” button is clicked, the console will ping when it confirms, our reception team will ensure that this happens. Fines may also be generated If a customer is not parked in a bay, on double yellow lines, or the disabled parking spot without a blue badge displayed, we do have signage at reception advising our customers of this. To address your concerns, please can you email our customer care team with the full details of where and when you stayed and your booking details so that we can investigate, you can contact us by going to our hotel’s website, if you scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see a button to “Contact Us” there you will then see a section where you can click to “email us”. On visiting the hotel and registering my car with the receptionist. I received a parking fine of £60. On my appeal I stated that I had followed the instructions and even had help from the receptionist, due to my disability. The hotel say they have NO control of THEIR car park as the land is privately owned. I am sorry but that is appalling. You provided a service of parking, which I now have a fine and you take no ownership. I stay in a lot of hotels up and down the country. I will never stay in one of your hotels again. AVOiD THIS HOTEL. Unless on foot and not disabled.

Absolutely disgusted that a male member of staff(cleaner) knocked our door in the morning and even though he asked to come in and we said no several times in he came as i was dressing !! I complained to the reception staff and they were totally uninterested. Their answer was 'sorry about that' feel sick about what happened. Be careful everyone dress in the bathroom if you need to!

Let’s be real - when it comes to a decent hotel stay, all you need are vibes, vino and a viable venue. Now, which of these very important virtues does the Leonardo Hotel, Swindon Town (up the reds) have? Vibes: as I walked from the carpark to the entrance, I knew this side of town perhaps wasn’t where dreams are made. Hotel itself was 6/10 vibey, area was 2/10 vibey. Overall, 5/10 on the vibeometer. Vino: tesco was a 5 minute stroll down some of the dodgiest looking backstreets I’ve ever risked my life endeavouring down. 4/10. Viable venue: overall, the Leonardo hotel is a clean pair of hands. Does the trick if you need a reasonably priced bedchamber in Costa Del Swindon. Next time, I’ll pay a bit extra and stay out of the town centre though.

I had a pleasant stay at the hotel for a training course, with a very comfortable bed. I was in a room which was designed for wheelchair users so it was larger than the standard rooms, which was a nice bonus. However, I had issues with the drain not being sufficient for the power of the shower leading to standing in a puddle of water each time I showered. It was also an adjoining room, meaning I could easily hear the people in the room next door (and vice versa I would imagine). There was a good selection of cold and hot food at breakfast, although the hot foot wasn't anything special. The staff were all friendly and incredibly efficient at cleaning the tables. I ate at the bar one night and it was average quality for the cost (£17 for a cheese burger and a small portion of chips).

Paid extra for an "Executive Room", which evidently was a complete waste of money. The air conditioning didn't work, meaning the room was uncomfortably hot. In-room fridge also didn't work; so whilst the complimentary water was a nice touch, it was warm. I complained to reception and was told that there were no other Executive Rooms available, but they would find me a fan for the room. By 10.45pm still no fan, so I spoke to reception again, who said somebody was coming up with one now. At 11pm a lady arrived to say there are no fans, but they would be moving me to another Executive Room (seemingly one had suddenly appeared). 11.15pm, and after a really long drive and day, I was moved to another room, to find that the AirCon also didn't work in that room. By 11.30pm I gave up trying, and had an uncomfortable night in a very warm room, so hardly slept. Wi-Fi was poor; really slow and keeps kicking you off the network. Bathroom was very small, tired and basic. Water pressure was pretty bad, so the shower was more like a dribble. Looks like some areas of the hotel have recently had a refurb, but it's all style over substance, as the very basics just don't work. Bar/restaurant was okay, but very basic & uninspiring food and drinks menu, all of which were very overpriced. The Duty Manager did offer a 50% refund, but that didn't really make up for barely any sleep after a 300-mile journey.

I stay at this hotel at least 5 days a month, and it is almost ideal. Check staff helpful anal attentive which makes for a great start. Rooms very good. Very clean, and really spacious. That’s just what you need when you stay a few days at a time. Always plenty of hot water too. Beds large and very comfortable so a good night sleep is guaranteed always. Only a couple of issues I have. 1. The car park is sometimes full which is a real pain, and disabled spaces are always used without cars with badges. 2. Evening food isn’t good, and very expensive for what it it. 3. I think it has rooms rented by social services All that said, it my hotel of choice in the area.

I have previously stayed at this hotel for a number of years. The hotel has drastically gone down hill. The reception staff are horrendous I reported a loud noise in the bathroom they treated me like an idiot patronising then said it was the toilet and maintenence fixed it. Turns out it was the fan stuck on in the bathroom kept me awake all night. I was locked out of the room twice but again patronised saying I was using the card wrong when I was not. I upgraded but the room was so small there was barely a foot between the bed and the wall. The soap dispenser was broken and there were no tissues. What a shame management really disappointing trip train your staff! They're border line rude and have no clue. Be aware your staff are running this hotel down .
