Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I stayed here at the Village Hotel Swindon for a week on a work trip. It is a nice hotel with a good bar and restaurant. The gym here is fantastic, plenty of equipment all in good condition and better opening hours than other hotel gyms I have been to. Breakfast was lovely, Nila is brilliant and made me feel very welcome here.

This morning was the launch of the new Les Mills classes. I took part in Body Combat with Emily Smith, Body Pump with Hayley Luxton, and Sprint with Stacy Williams. All three classes were brilliant, and the instructors were amazing - so much energy and enthusiasm 💕

We usually try to stay here twice a year, and we always have an amazing time! My parents stayed last week and I emailed to enquire about a balcony upgrade Shaun very kindly gave them a complimentary upgrade to make that stay even more great, overall they had a great time. And because it was so good we all went has a family again for a night, we was greeted by a lovely receptionist the the self check in worked efficiently as always, we was allocated Room 268 on the 2nd floor the room was SPOTLESS! The cleanliness has definitely improved since our last visit last year, not that it was bad but the detail of the cleanliness in our room this time was exceptional, even from the polishing of the light switches. We managed to get a quick swim in the evening, changing rooms were adequate and clean as always although the hallway leading up to the pool was quite slippy. The pool was warm, and quiet and the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi was great! Although, it would be nice to see the pool slightly refurbished as it’s starting to show its age now. Adding onto this, the leisure staff were also very helpful. We eat in the restaurant for dinner, the food came out quick and was delicious, although the prices were questionable compared to recent years. Service was also very good and staff were helpful. I just wish the Buca Di Beppo restaurant was still there as that always used to a highlight of our stays, but of course I understand the way the brand is going offering quick pub grub. We also eat breakfast at the hotel in the former Buca Di Beppo, breakfast was good and the offerings were great staff were also very friendly. Overall, we had a great day! Although the hotel isn’t as modern as other properties within the brand I think that’s what makes the Village Swindon unique and keeps us coming back as some of the newer properties are very bright, but the Village Swindon offers a cosy atmosphere, and it’s also great to see the recent investments in the hotel in refurbishing and upgrading rooms. We will be back in either August or next year, looking forward to it already! Thanks for having us, see you soon.

We visited the village today for Easter lunch and to meet the Easter bunny, it was myself and 4 kids, the staff were friendly and very welcoming especially Freya, Steph and David in the pub and grill! We had a real mix of food from a burger to full Sunday roast which the kids all loved. 🍽️ 🍔 🍗 They were treated to a table visit from the Easter bunny with included an Easter egg as a treat and the kids were all happy. 🐣 🐰 We ended our afternoon with a quick visit to Starbucks where we were served by Keira who was so friendly☕️🥤 Over all the service and welcoming we received was top notch and I definitely would recommend a day trip if not more to this place 😊🤗 A massive thankyou to all ❤️

Chose this hotel for myself and my son for a relaxing stay before a flight the next day, booked a family room for the large double beds. Upon arrival the checking in was simple, greeted by staff and given directions to the room. The room hadn't been cleaned from the previous occupant so returned to the reception to report my findings. Was moved to another room that was the last available (clean) room. The new room had 2 single beds which ruined the reason for choosing this location. The family room was huge was would have been perfect for what I had expected and requested, but this ideal was removed through cleaning error/room management error. Management apologised and compensated the inconvenience and error.

Dear Aldoovree_travel, Thank you for taking the time to write this constructive review. I am very sorry to see that we have fallen so short of your expectations due to the family bedroom booking oversight. I can see our Host Manager Shaun has contacted you directly. Thank you for positively highlighting the teams actions and compensation. I hope this went some way in restoring a little faith and we look forward to making up to you next time you visit. Best Regards, Mark
