As a Hilton Honors Diamond member of 10 years with over 600 nights, I’ve experienced a wide range of service, but the team at Hilton DoubleTree Swindon truly sets the bar high. From the moment I arrived, Sonia, McKenzie, and Chris went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional.
The room was immaculate with thoughtful touches like a chilled bottle of wine, two bottles of water, and a half-price voucher for an alcoholic drink at the bar. The air conditioning worked perfectly, ensuring a comfortable night’s sleep, and the clean, well-appointed bathroom made for a relaxing stay.
What really stood out, though, was the team’s warm hospitality and eagerness to help. Warm welcome. Arrived as a large coach group and check in was very quiet and smooth. We had a lovely warm cookie on arrival. Our room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The only negatives with the room was that there were no sanitary bags in the room and the walls were paper thin.
The buffet was lovely with a good selection of starters, main and pudding. Breakfast was a good selection but my only negatives are that I am dairy free and I had to ask each morning for oat milk and also decaf tea. The chief made me scrambled eggs without milk which was so nice of him. I would just suggest leaving a dairy free milk by the cereals with the other milk for people who don’t have dairy. The restaurant was very clean and staff friendly.
The drinks at the bar were extremely over priced which is a shame but we went to the Beefeater (Premier Inn) which is 4 minutes walk for drinks the following evening.

A lovely welcome at reception when I arrived, I think the lady was called Abbie. Lovely doubletree cookie as I went to my room. Room was lovely and modern and very clean. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent well done to the chefs that evening, steak was cooked to perfection. I’ve stayed in many Hilton’s due to work but the breakfast here is amazing, I got a warm welcome from Denise who explained how the buffet area works. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel for business. The reception staff are excellent and a credit to Double Tree, Hilton. Also the space available for business purposes is good.
The restaurant is mediocre at best. By this I mean the tepid buffet breakfasts which have the usual items available. Some cereals, full fat natural yoghut, forget the 'fruit cocktail' as the apples are old and grainy having been prepared days prior I expect, the usual sausages, bacon, runny beans, eggs either fried or scrambled (although I must say that if you request them poached, they will do that for you), hash browns, toms, mushrooms and toast.
The lunch options might as well be dinners as all are hot except the wilting very basic salad. No sandwiches/wraps/bagets/ buffet salads etc.....
Dinner - I only ordered room service. First night, beef burger which was reasonably tasty and came quickly, second night, having had a hot dinner at luchtime, I ordered a ham and mustard sandwich at £10 in total incl room service fees and the ham was the 'slimy' version. Not great for a tenner!
Now, the rooms. At first I was given a connecting room (locked) which was fine initially before the adjoining guest arrived when I could hear them using their bathroom through the wall/door....tinkle tinkle.... and the full on facetime convo with their spouse, I imagine.
I asked to change rooms and the reception staff were very good. I was given another non adjoining room, only this one was next to the lift and so the whirl of the power cables and fan was hard to tolerate all night, but slightly better than hearing another person use their loo.
The location is very good for the railway station and although I didn't use it, there is lots of parking close to major road routes.
Cleanliness is reasonable, mattresses are awful! Feel very cheep and bouncy. I liked the feather pillows and duvet.
Overall, I'm glad my organisation paid as I would likely have looked elsewhere. That said, reception staff are great, location is great, cleanliness is acceptable, but beds and breakfasts are poor in my opinion.

We had our wedding at the DoubleTree by Hilton Swindon at the end of August 2024.
The lead up to the day was facilitated by Jess and Shannen. They couldn't do enough for us, made the effort to respond to the copious amount of emails we sent (we ended up in the 70s!) and did what they could to accommodate our specific requests, among those being a memory table dedicated to my new husband's grandparents.
We were looked after on the day itself by Jason and Fatima. They checked in on both of us regularly throughout the day and kept us abreast of anything we needed to know in a way that didn't worry us. A shot of Limoncello for the bride (me!) before walking down the aisle was a fantastic touch.
The only reason we put a 4 and not a 5 is because we were informed that early check-in was at the hotel's discretion. This would have been fine, but all of the guests that requested early check-in were denied. Guests also described having a confusing booking process, difficulty using the discount code the venue supplied for our wedding day (the discount code is a great idea in theory!) and a long-winded check in.
Having said all of that, on the day, the guests were in awe of everything the venue did for us. We received so many compliments on the food and we've been told they were made to feel incredibly welcome. DoubleTree by Hilton Swindon did enough to make them forget about the stuff that happened before the day.
The food for breakfast was divine, and a lot of people (the happy couple included) appreciated all of the facilities that were on offer in the rooms. They really thought of everything.
In short, my new husband and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding day, and that is largely thanks to DoubleTree by Hilton Swindon.

I booked a one night stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Swindon, when I arrived late in the evening it was very busy in the lobby, it took a while be be attended to. I was welcomed as a Diamond Elite member and I was upgraded to a Queen Deluxe Room.
The room was spacious with a hugely comfortable bed with very nice bedding, tea and coffee facilities were provided and the TV had a good range of channels, however the cables had been disconnected prior to my stay. The bathroom was of good sizeand had a bath/shower combination and a range of toiletries were provided.
Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of hot and cold options with items being replenished frequently. It was a very good stay at Doubletree Swindon. Getting to/from the hotel without a car was fine with buses running frequently into Swindon / McArthurGlen Outlet Centre from a bus stop five minutes walk from the hotel.

We have been to visit friends & for the first time we traveled with our puppy. We check the price of Holiday Inn where we would normally stay but realised they were going to charge us £15.00 per night for the pup. I did a search & not only found the Hilton to be much cheaper they only charge £20.00 per stay. We had stayed in other Hilton Hotels so knew what to expect.
We were able to find a Disabled Space right outside the door then checked in quickly. Reception smelt amazing! We had a lovely room which was very spacious, extremely clean & very quiet. Our overall it was excellent, just as we expected.
On the first night my partner went to get us some drink & came back to the room to tell me he had met a really lovely Manager who had stood talking to him. He worked out my partner was from Newcastle so had been talking to him about a nightclub he had visited many years ago in Newcastle.
The next day we were going through reception & we saw the same Manager as we now know is called Jason from Swansea (to tell him the name of the nightclub) he again stood & spoke to us about his time in Newcastle, asked why we were here, checked everything was ok with our stay so far & asked if we needed anything. He explained he would be off when we checked out so asked a over a lovely lady called Abby from reception to come over & asked her make sure we were getting the best out of our stay & that we were going to be well looked after. He was a true gentleman, in the time we spoke to him he made us feel like friends, for a manger he was so down to earth. It was like we had known him forever.
The following morning I wanted clean towels so I asked Abby, who was just as helpful & had that arranged for us when we came back to our room
I can’t recommend this hotel enough, we have stayed in numerous Hilton Hotels but we have never felt so welcome by all the hotel staff.
This is now the hotel we will use for any future stays we have in Swindon!!!

Having stayed a numerous hotels in the area, The Double Tree by Hilton is by far the most professional. On arrival, the staff greet you with a smile and quickly locate your booking. The best part, you always get a free, warm cookie to devour when you get to your room!
The standard of the rooms is very high and always very clean. My room has been serviced every day of my stay, and it has always been the same every time I have stayed. Even the towels are dried and re-folded!!!
The beakfasts have a great range with pastries to porridge, traditional cooked English and various cold options available. I found brekfast very good value due to the wide options that are available. I was served by Fatima, who was very welcoming and seemed to never stop cleaning, greeting and helping everyone. It was nice to see staff being as attentive early in the morning as they are in the evening.
The in-house restaurant, 14 Twelve, has exceptoinal food. A wide range of food is available and it caters for most tastes. The front of house, Jason, is great at selling the menu, regardless of what you end up choosing. The rest of the team, Katie and Alex, have always been full of smiles and enthusiasm. They are always making the place look its best.

I have stayed at the hotel a few times, and it was always as good as it could be. All rooms do have air con, and the restaurant and pub offer excellent choice and quality of food, so there is no need to search for a restaurant nearby. Any stay starts with check-in, and there I found a star of each stay Claret. She made me feel welcomed, ensuring I felt at home,always welcoming me with a smile and a cookie. I enjoyed the first while on occasion I turned down the cookie. No matter what you need, she makes sure you have a pleasant stay.

A long wait to check in but a very nice lady booked me and welcomed me back as a Hilton Diamond member and as it told me on my Hilton app I had a free room upgrade which was a saving of £31 . It was a good large room with partioned bedroom but noticed very small 32 inch tv which is out of proportion With the size room the room is very tired and needs a modern uplift and a much better bed as he bed is old and worn out and very noisy when you move there is a 4 inch gap from bed to wall which made the pillows falling into the gap and kept doing all night Breakfast was standard for a doubletree but the ladies cook was on duty and having been here many times I know she is good and there was nice good bacon and nice poached eggs As I was in a hurry I just did fast drop checkout but got a shock when I got my receipt via email to see that I was extra charge for the free room upgrade and a non deposit fee of £20 for a dog visit even thought I do not have a dog so were do the just say it’s £20 for a dog visit . plus I had ordered cheese platter fee for £10 which was fine as I asked for that and was good as it included a small bottle When I complained about the over charge I was told yes I got a free upgrade but there is a £31 charge so when is a free upgrade not a free upgrade it looks like when you stay at a Hilton so I think it’s time to look at a New Brand of hotel
