Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Carpets were disgusting, towels were stained, bed rock hard, and noisy all night. Unless you are on a super tight budget go to one of the other budget hotels near by. Only good thing was that it was easy to get to from motorway. No idea about breakfast, I went out to eat.

First impression from the entrance was it looks ok, clean, tidy and the car park is well lit. The room was very small, the bed was very cheap and uncomfortable when you turn over you can hear and feel every spring! The bathroom was clean the shower was diabolical! May as well stand outside and use rain water. The room was cold and noisy because the windowsill was busted and rotten so you can hear every passing vehicle from the duel carriageway and the draft was ridiculous, when it rained the dripping on the windowsill outside from the gutters was very loud. The room was turned over and cleaned every day but very dusty and I had to constantly ask for an extra towel because they only provide 1. We cut our stay short 3/4 nights because we could not bare sleeping in there any more! When I complained and asked if there were any other rooms perhaps one that may have been renovated the receptionist laughed hysterically. If I had the choice again I’d pay a bit more and stay someone else, or sleep in your car. 2 non negotiable for me a decent bed and clean room and this was neither.

Being a well travelled businessman, I have been in many many different hotels Location wise, the Campanile is £10-15 cab ride from the station, so easily found. The location itself however is on an industrial estate with not much around. The hotel in the evening unfortunately did not have a chef so food was limited, dinner options were even more limited so I opted with a colleague to go to the M&S across the road. The room I was put in was the wheelchair accessible room. There was a dead moth in the bathroom and the shower area was quite mouldy. Surprisingly I slept relatively well, given the doors and walls were paper thin and my head was next to the entrance area. Also worth mentioning are the lights, which were all cold bright blue bulbs, not warm white, which doesn't necessarily bother me, but I know many others struggle with lighting before bed. Breakfast was warm not hot (full English) but relatively quiet. I would say the staff are warm and helpful given the challenges faced. If you need a cheap place to stop over one night, then choose this, otherwise, it's well worth putting slightly more to stay in a more comfortable hotel.

We have stated at Campanile for at least thirty years and always had a good experience. In the past we have taken our dog. On this visit we were sorely disappointed to see the drop in standards since new management. Staff very friendly and helpful but rooms getting very tired. Only one bath towel instead of two. Asked for hand towels, which are no longer provided. One eventually found. Evening meals were cancelled which we rely on. Continental breakfast good but spoons ranged from soup to serving spoons with which to eat our cereals. Holes in bedroom curtains. Very low toilet close to wall. Difficult to use and get up. Standards definately on the decline.

Dear Benidorm55, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It looks like you were part of a large group who stayed with us over a few nights with different menus available for the dinner options, which we have the practice reconfirming the chosen menus and food allergens. Please accept our sincere apologies for the delayed service and rest assured this has been made aware for the improvement. While we have Double and Twin Bedrooms available to accommodate 2 guests in the same room, we do have extra towels available in the green box by the walk-in wardrobe which we have added new sticker to advise our guests of this arrangement, if otherwise our friendly and helpful reception team will be happy to assist further. Thank you once again for the review and we hope we will have another opportunity to welcome you back soon. Kind regards Hotel Management

I have stayed before but a while ago. Easy to find, the staff are very welcomong and helpful, prepared to go out of their way to help you. The rooms are clean, may be a little tired and dated but never the less comfortable. If I had a slight negatvie but they are not alone why when the shower os over the bath do they not put in a grab handle to aid getting out and a shelf for your glasses ( the seeing kind not the drinking ) The restaurant was busy and we had a little wait but nothing too bad The menu a little predicatble but the service is good and the food OK No continental breakfast option ( I only eat toast so did not wish to pay for a full English ) The car park was good and well lit. The hotel does not have air conditioning which made this weekends stay a little warm. Would I say there again Yes .

Have stayed in a few Campaniles and know them to be pretty basic but cheap. This one was no exception. Check in was quick and easy. Public areas looked bright and clean. Our room was small but satisfactory, though one bedside light didn’t work and one bathroom light was inoperative. The bathroom bin was rusty and the loo roll holder was hanging off the wall. It wouldn’t cost much to replace/repair such small items, which would improve the overall effect hugely!!! The other strange item was the very low level wc pan which was very uncomfortable to sit on and I imagine elderly people would find it hard to get up from (maybe someone had used the loo roll holder as a grab rail!) On the plus side, the towels were large and fluffy - a nice change from many hotels. Unfortunately room 131 (not recommended) was adjacent to the lift which made it very noisy with whirring/clanking/talking plus the landing doors squeaking and banging. Guests came and went until very late and resumed very early!! Location is good as it’s away from main roads and on a trading estate which is quiet at the weekend. Overall it was good value for money.

Room 265. Probably the worse sleep in the worse bed ever. Even the soft pillows were firm. As for the mattress, just like an ironing board. Stiff neck and back for the next two days. The shower head needs renewing or at least please clean it. Water spraying in every direction. No wonder that there was mould on the ceiling. Long hairs in the carpet and on the quilt. Does anyone clean? I advise anyone to book elsewhere. The next morning we did not stay for breakfast but one guest was complaining loudly about there being no eggs and tea spoons etc. It may have been cheap but you expect more as a paying guest.
