Spacious, light and modern, The Fallow Field pub is a great place to eat out in Telford. We're perfectly sited for travellers coming from the M54, A5, A41, and A518, as well as for locals looking for good beer, a wide selection of wines and draught products and a fine menu of outstanding pub food. Our daily service of British classics and modern twists is offered in addition to our red Tractor farm-assured rotisserie chicken, perfectly roasted until the skin is crisp and full of flavour and the flesh is moist and sweet. Our children's menu includes lots of favourites for the littlest chicks in the family and plenty of exciting choices for the older ones! In addition to child-sized portions of pub classics, young visitors can explore a menu of rotisserie-inspired dishes. Our dessert menu is also heavenly. Whether you're coming for a drink, a meal, or an overnight stay, you'll find first-rate service at The Fallow Field, where restaurant-style food is served by proper pub people.

Detailed Reviews
I won’t tell you how much we paid for our room in case it causes any problems but it’s safe to say it was unbelievably cheap (some deal my partner found on the internet), so we wasn’t sure what to expect.
We were booked up for a zoo keeper experience at the local Hoo farm because it’s one of the few places that allow children under 12 to participate, we drove over 3 hours to get there so hoped that we would have a good time and that the hotel would be at the very least acceptable.
We were greeted in a friendly manner by the staff in the bar opposite which is where reception is now based and made our own way to our room, it’s pretty much what you expect from similarly priced hotels, nothing fancy but all the basics were there. It was a clean, well sized room (2 single beds and 1 double), tea and coffee making facility’s and a TV (not great reception but it was only for a few hours. I noticed that there wasn't much storage room for clothing but this didn’t bother us as we were only there for one night. All of us slept OK so the beds must have been comfy….and the shower was warm and clean if a little dated.(note you must bring your own toiletries).
We arrived fairly late on Friday night so decided to just eat at the hotel restaurant/bar opposite which actually turned out to be a really good choice (not just because of the 20% discount) the food was good and the service was great, friendly and efficient (sorry didn’t catch the young ladys name)….so nice we decided to have breakfast there as well, the continental/helpyourself breakfast was nice but a little small on choice but it came free with the proper breakfasts that we ordered, not particularly cheap but the kids eat for free so it did end up working out very cheap, again the services was great and friendly (think it may have been last nights waitress’s mum), having discussed what we were up to the weekend the waitress gave us loads of advice and suggestions, really couldn’t have had a more friendly waitress.
All in all not just because of the price but also because of the staff, we would definitely book this up again if we ever found our self visiting the area in the future.

Check in was faultless.
Room was a good size, comfortable bed with crisp linen.
Great bonus was having wall sockets with USB ports - wish more hotels had these.
Bathroom was good with a bath and overhead shower, although water pressure could have been a bit higher.
Toilet could have done with a better clean.
Restaurant was good although bar service was a little slow.
Good menu choice with spit Roast Chicken being the Signature Dish.
Food and Bar Prices are reasonable.

Lovely, sparklingly clean, room (204). All Covid 19 protection measures in place. Warm welcome too. Dinner at the pub first night was very good, well presented, piping hot and no rushing us to finish. Slightly over-generous portions, perhaps. Breakfast, on both days, was extremely good, and Lisa, the waitress, was so friendly and helpful. even though she appeared to be the only waitress on duty. She is one of those great people who is always willing to go that extra mile to see that the customers are happy and well-fed. The reception staff were happy to provide us with extra tea/coffee etc. for the room. The cleaners we met were as friendly as the restaurant/hotel staff and took the time to wish us safe journey home. There is much of the area we have not explored yet, so next visit will bring us back to the Fallow Field

The hotel room was a spacious family room. Like a Travelodge really. USB charging nice bonus and free wifi.
No tea or cofffee and had to ask in reception, no milk available other than a cup of milk from the bar, not ideal at 7am when you want a hot drink.
Blood on my daughters sheet wasn't a pleasant discovery.
Shambolic experience at the restaurant. Supposed to get free beer with voucher, turns out its the cheapest drink you've ordered so only got a lemonade free. Was told any drink was free. For said free drink I wanted a Marstons pedigree, they didn't have any available lol! Non of the Veggie main options on Menu were available, just one that wasn't on the Menu.
They forgot my sons order and I had to ask twice. My daughter ordered veggie sausages as part of kids meal and they gave her meat ones. My burger was burnt.
After discovering the sausages weren't veggie they sorted it out and told us we didn't have to pay for it which was good of them. Then also then offered a free round of drinks which was nice. I paid up and then checked my bill back in the room and noticed they had charged me for one of the free drinks so had to return to get a refund of the drink.
Having a meal out shouldn't be that stressful ! I have since complained and they said they will speak to the staff there, hows about a bloody voucher for a pint of Marstons Pedigree eh !
Don't think I'll be staying there again, shame as its a good base for exploring Shropshire hills but will stick with Travelodge next time.

Absolutely awful! First time out for food since lockdown , was looking forward to a roast dinner. Chose to have pork due to advertised crackling. Received, both mine & husbands pork was stone cold. Kids food arrived and then ours. No crackling, had to ask for it and apple sauce - were told no crackling left- then explained meal was cold. Advised that all meat was temperature checked and then offered replacement. About 20 mins later mine and husbands food arrived and was mediocre to say the least. Overall a total disappointment and won’t be coming back. Such a shame as in the past it’s been lovely.

I stopped in the hotel for a wedding I was attending further down the road.
The room cost was reasonable for what it was however it was slow to check-in waited nearly 10 minutes to be seen to when I checked in.
The room itself was clean and well presented and bright with extra pillows available as well without having to ask. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable sleep as it was 2 singles pushed together with a double sheet just placed over the top to keep them together.
Plenty of power sockets through to charge and USB plugs available to charge devices while there.
The breakfast was nice as well in the morning and cheaper than competitors for similar products.
Overall with little tweaks it could be a much easier stay. I did like the mobile checkin and checkout

Arrived at the hotel and was greeted by the receptionist who was lovely and showed us to our room, she also booked us in for a meal at the restaurant on the same site. Our room was big enough for 3 plenty of space to put our luggage too. We spent two nights in the hotel which we used as a base for our holiday. We had a lovely breakfast in the restaurant on the first morning, fully cooked breakfast and continental breakfast too which was well worth the money and set us up for the day. We couldn’t have breakfast the second morning as they open at 8am on a Saturday and we wanted to leave before then but the Greggs in the petrol station had lots of choice for us to grab and go. On the second evening my son wasn’t well at the restaurant, he suffers from migraines so had to take him back to the hotel so he could sleep it off, the receptionist (a different lady) gave us some more towels to put down incase he was sick during the night.
The hotel is spotless very clean and welcoming.
Even though their is a Burger King and Petrol station quite close we didn’t hear much noise from either and was able to get a good nights rest. All in all a pleasant stay.

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave us an in-depth review. We really appreciate it. I'm so pleased to hear you enjoyed all aspects of your stay and will pass your comments onto both the hotel and restaurant team. Vicki was the first receptionist that greeted you and Deena (myself) was the one that gave you towels. I'm happy to hear your son did not need them in the end. Should you be in Telford again please come and stay with us. We'd love to have you back. Kind Regards, Deena & The Fallowfield Team

My sister and I spent two nights at this hotel and it is amazing value with lovely staff. Chris checked us in and made sure that we had a quiet room (in fact, they're probably all pretty quiet). The rooms are spotlessly clean, very warm with very comfortable beds and pillows. Obviously this is a budget hotel (that's the only reason I haven't given it 5 stars, not because it didn't do what it says on the tin) so there are no frills as such, but it is one of the best hotels of this kind that I've stayed in. The security was also very good - you can't get to the rooms without a key card which always makes me feel safer, the outside lighting is very good and there's loads of parking. Even better, the restaurant/bar opposite is fantastic so no problem about enjoying a great meal and a drink and then having to drive afterwards. Really recommend this hotel if you're in need of a comfortable, affordable, clean and quiet place with lovely staff. Thanks, Chris and all your marvellous team.

We booked the fallow fields inn for a 2 night stay to attend a concert.
The room is spacious with an extra comfortable bed and air con, best nights sleep I've had in ages. Good choice of coffee sachets in the room, nescafe gold blend, my favourite. Only downfall the kettle was a bit useless, didn't get a good boil on first go had to boil 3 times to get a hot cuppa.
We had dinner in the on site restaurant on the first day, reasonably priced and quality.
The breakfast the following morning I chose the avocado on toast with poached egg and bacon. It was delicious. My daughter had the cooked breakfast which sadly arrived very cold. The staff though were very quick to rectify the issue and arranged a new one to be brought out. It was hot but my daughter didny enjoy it as it tasted like it had been microwaved. Upon paying they deducted the cooked breakfast from the total without any complaint.
The staff inthe hotel and the restaurant are lovely and very friendly, efficient, helpful and professional.
We would definately stay here again

Nice room. Not so nice location. Pub too expensive. Bad sleep from being in room above reception.
Liked · room clean and beds comfy. price of the room was good and would have been a great place to stay at again if it was not for the mentioned issues.
Disliked · Hi I was rather disappointed with my Stay and the times I was around there was not a receptionist apart from when we checked in. Both nights I kept getting woke up by the auto sliding entrance doors below our room opening and closing, it was so noisy, even when watching the TV I could hear it. I had a long drive home today and I was very tired. I had to leave the radio on the tv to try and drown out the sound from the doors but not too loud as to disturb surrounding guests but still i got woke up. regarding safety this was worrying that there a lot of boy racers in the adjoining estate car parks racing round and their exhausts popping a lot very annoying and unsafe driving at speed. prices at the pub are a bit pricey and I feel a discount for Hotel guests would be a good thing.
