We did an overnight stay before a flight with our 3 year old at the beginning of August. We had a family room which was a good sized bed and bunk beds. My little girl stayed in the bottom bunk and slept really well. I was able to bath her and settle her with no issues. Check in was easy and we had no problems getting parked. We actually took the car in and out twice during our stay and never found it hard to get a space.

If I was to make 2 small criticisms (and these are just things to maybe improve stays for others....)

At nighttime, the music in the reception area could probably do with turning down. We had hoped to get my little one to the airport still asleep but when walking through reception at 4am it was a little bit like a nightclub!

In term of bed set up, we had to take our own bedguard and dismantle this in the early hours. Having the option to hire a bedguard for the lower bunk bed would be a really welcome addition for most families I'm sure :)

Other than those 2 minor points, excellent stay and we will return as guests next time we need an overnight stay for a flight.

We stayed here the night before a flight start of January. we used the pool what my son found amazing very clean and well kept. after we went and got food in restaurant at the hotel menu was a little bit limited but portions of food was very filling. Room was of a good standard having a family room with a single and double bed looked very fresh and modern in fact the whole hotel looked very fresh and modern and looked like it had a recent refurbishment. would I stay here again before a flight from Gatwick, 100% yes 😬thanks got a pleasant stay

The breakfast was outstanding as was the person operating it, KAT M. KAT M., Is a BIG reason we stay at sandman. I think you should keep her around at ALL costs. She is always early, friendly, cheerful, helpful, professional in manner and dress at all times, and well groomed. Provides superb assistance with personal requests, having special items on hand, (Gluten Free bread, tobacco sauce, and other non-standard items), and always remembers my needs, wants, dietary requirements, name, food preferences and instantly exceeds them. You consider her a VALUABLE asset to your company. She always greets your guests warmly and makes the guest feel welcomed and valuable. She can make an ordinary day seem bright and cheerful.

Room had no air conditioning, although it is advertised they do, shower drain was SLOW and if not careful the bathroom could flood. No working exhaust fan in the bathroom, so was damp and mirror was fogged up and useless. Lift was STILL in disrepair, (7th time), lift and floor it stopped at was misaligned causing a tripping hazzard. We showed manager an internet price for our room, but she would not match the price, in fact we had to sit in the lobby and make our own reservation via laptop. Several other issues, none of great importance, but management was told of the deficiencies each time, (over several years), and in reviews, yet nothing is changed.

We won a Facebook competition for a night stay at the Sandman Signature Hotel with 3 course meal, Prosecco, 2 cocktails 🍸 and full English breakfast The food was all very tasty and well cooked. Tyra, Joe and Marco who were on reception were great nothing was too much trouble. We had booked a time to go swimming and there was only 2 other people in the pool which you could easily socially distance from. We wore our face masks 😷 whilst walking around the hotel (unfortunately not everyone did) The man on the door of the shark restaurant was very good at making sure everyone scanned their QR Code used hand sanitizer wore masks and followed the one way system through the restaurant. We didn’t know the hotel allows well behaved dogs and they have rooms on the first floor for them. You could go down to breakfast whatever time you wanted between 8am - 11am on weekends and could choose where you sat in the breakfast restaurant the lovely ladies who welcomed and served us breakfast were lovely and kept checking we were ok and if we needed any more drinks. A very yummy full English Breakfast setting us up for the day. I would definitely recommend this hotel and am very glad we have chosen this hotel for our wedding next year.

Stayed here on my Birthday the night before flying from Gatwick. Got off to a bad start with maintenance works taking place and a fire alarm going off when we were checking in, however it wasn't much of an issue as these things happen. However, due to everything being looking a bit hectic downstairs and needing to use service elevators and it already being about 9:30pm we decided to treat ourselves to room service seeing it was my Birthday.
I had fish and chips and my partner had a pizza. As you can see from the photo it was a very small, grease covered portion with about 5 chips. From memory I paid about £17 for this on the room service. My partner's pizza could be likened to a frozen £1 pizza from Iceland. I won't bother checking the receipt for how much that cost as it will make me depressed. Didn't bother to bring up any sauces with them. Didn't have the beer we ordered and so they had to come back with that and the bloke mentioned 3 alarms going off downstairs hence it being a bit hectic.
Had a lovely sleep apart from worrying if the fire alarm was going to go off in the night.
We decided to stay elsewhere on our journey home and we won't be staying there again, especially on my Birthday.

Stayed here on a Sunday night and there was evidently very little occupancy at the hotel and the bar staff, kitchen staff and receptionist were standing around chatting in reception. I tried to call down to room service 4 times and either no one answered the phone or they kept putting me through to the bar where no one answered, and when I did get through they hung up. When I finally got through, to request just an ice bucket and two glasses, I was told I would have to pay £3.50. What a rip off for them to bring some ice to the room.

Prior to this, we had seen on booking.com that the cost of our room had decreased dramatically and when we enquired about this at reception, their answer was that booking.com must have put their prices down and there was nothing they can do.

At the cheek of already charging paying guests an additional £10 per car, per night to park in their car park. This hotel is out to make whatever money they can and come across extremely greedy with little care for their guests.

Having just stayed at The Sandman Hotel for a week whilst on business I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel, size and standard of the room with an excellent shower ( very powerful).
Breakfast was ver6good and well run. My only disappointment was the main bar. Peroni was off all week and the bar was constantly running out of beer or changing barrels.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again but the bar staff need to up their game.

We stayed here for one night before heading to Gatwick airport for a flight.

The receptionist we were checked in by was not particularly friendly and barked at us rather than talked to us. The reception area itself is decorated nicely and feels welcoming on arrival, but unfortunately the rooms are not of the same standard.

For some reason we were given an accessible room so all the items in the room were too low for someone not in a wheelchair to use (sink/mirror are the obvious examples). The bedroom area had 2 small double beds which were comfortable and we did sleep well. However, that is where the positives end! There was only one USB socket in the whole room and no other available electrical sockets (we could see one down the side of one of the beds but could not get to it without pulling the bed out). The tea/coffee quality was poor and a complete lack of thought has gone into the wardrobe arrangement, as the ironing board had been jammed in there so no clothes could be hung up. There were no coat hooks either. The mirror that had been provided in the bedroom was small and just above desk level, so you couldn’t look into this whilst standing up drying your hair (although I’m not sure how you could dry your hair without a socket anyway). There was no full length mirror either.

The bathroom was tired and dirty. The floor tiles were cracked and did not appear to have been cleaned as there was hair on them on arrival, the wall tiles in the bath were mouldy and the area around the basin which was black was covered in white smears which looked as it if had been previously wet and not cleaned since. The hand soap provided next to the sink and shower gel in the bath were in holders which meant you could not use the items unless they were removed from the wall (which is obviously not the idea) as they had been hooked into these using the pump, which you could not then press down on.

I am glad we were only there for one night and wouldn’t stay here again!

Stayed for a night before our holiday, out of Gatwick, and again afterwards. Lovely comfy and clean rooms. Then it’s all downhill! The restaurant wasn’t busy but it still took 10 minutes to get a menu, another 10 minutes to order and another 15 minutes to get our food, which was a dried up steak sandwich and overcooked and dry chicken strips. Two waitresses, wearing scimmpy black T-shirt dresses. Both had difficulty walking in their high heels and spent time adjusting themselves. A couple at another table said it was most off putting and I agreed. Maybe in a Bar in London but definitely not in a hotel restaurant or even in their Bar. Talking about the Bar, we arrived for our second visit and decided on a drink. There were about 5 people at the Bar and the waiter was enjoying their chat, totally oblivious to my husband and I standing waiting to be served. The two waitresses in their awful black T-shirt dresses were so busy washing glasses and adjusting themselves to notice. It was only when we complained to the guy at reception that we got our drinks. The staff need a kick up the b......e and they are bringing the hotel down. We won’t be back.

This hotel exceeded our expectations not that we had any reason to expect anything bad. We hadn't read any reviews. We booked it as it was conveniently located to where we were visiting and because it offered good sized rooms, a full English breakfast which we regard as a bit of a treat when away from home. But most importantly it accepts pets (£10 per night).

We have not been disappointed. The room is very spacious and comfortable with a chair and three seater settee, large screen TV and a king sized bed.

The staff are very friendly, the breakfast excellent (the best hash browns ever). We ate in the evening in the restaurant and whilst the choice on the menu is limited, the food we had was excellent. The wine list is also limited but not overly expensive and the Merlot we had was very good.

Would we stay here again? Definitely. .

Taxi cost varies from £11 to £17 depending on what taxi company you use. Then I would get a taxi for dinner to town Crawley its only £6 and your choice is a lote more for cuisines and places . We have stayed at Sandman Signature Gatwick for well over 12 years and I wouldn't stay anywhere else because of reception staff and swimming pool plus room sizes plus its quiet.
