Stayed for one night in June ahead of a flight to Canada. Easy to find, easy check-in especially if you have the app, well laid out room with a good shower and an excellent cooked buffet breakfast before checking in for your flight. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for one night as we had a very early flight from the north terminal in the morning. We did it as part of a package using the valet parking option which is right next door and very convenient. The hotel is also attached to the terminal so a very easy start to the flight day.

Check in was efficient and the hotel looks very modern and smart. Next to reception is the bar/eating zone and whilst it’s very limited in options we found the food quick and tasty.

The room looks modern, with pump dispensers in the bathroom for shampoo/shower gel/body lotion etc. Sockets right by the bed and the standard chair/desk/beverage options.

The two issues we had was firstly finding crumbs on the chair and sticky tape with hairs on on the floor - given the extra focus at the time on cleaning to prevent coronavirus spreading it seemed poor to find simple cleaning errors like that.

Secondly the bed seemed very hard and with very soft pillows, so consequently we struggled to get any sleep as it was very uncomfortable.

Overall I would have to think about whether I would want to return, there are other hotels in the same part so would probably try them next time.

My wife and I stayed here the night before a flight from Gatwick North Terminal. The location is brilliant as it is literally connected to the terminal building via a tunnelled entrance passageway. Very convenient and easy to find.
The staff on reception were friendly and helpful and checking in and out of the hotel was speedy and efficient.
Our room was pretty decent with 'Cleanstay' guarantees to reassure guests that health & safety was important and everything had been hygienically prepared. Facilities in the room were reasonable with kettle and hot drink sachets, desk area and chair, comfortable double bed, good quality shower and nice sized bathroom with wall-mounted spa therapy toiletries.
There was continental breakfast available from 4am and hot breakfast from 6am. The continental breakfast was rather basic and no fresh milk was available when we went down around 5.30am, only almond milk (which was actually quite nice) but the hot breakfast kind of made up for it at 6am with some very tasty bacon.
Overall we were happy with the hotel stay and would certainly use it again if flying from Gatwick North.

I don’t want this review to sound moany but I do want other travels and the hotels management to know why I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Check in
There were two staff members behind the reception desk when we arrived and one person was dealing with another customer. We queued up behind the person in hope we would be called forward by the other staff member but they seemed busy shuffling papers about so we waited patiently. After about 2-3 minutes another customer entered reception walked straight up to the counter and rudely spoke to the staff member asking to check in. What really annoyed me was they just checked him in!
Seriously! Reception was empty apart from the person in front of me. We came in with four large suitcases and stood 2 ft behind the customer in front. Why would you allow this rude customer to just push in!

The room
It has to be one of the noisiest rooms I’ve stayed in for a long time. It wasn’t noisy in regards to outside noise or other customers which sometimes can’t be helped but everything creaked. Every step you took the floor creaked so loudly so you heard every movement from the corridors and adjacent rooms, additionally the bed headboards are attached to the the wall and if someone opened a door within a few rooms distance the headboard shook which woke you up.

Air conditioning in the rooms
Basically this is not fit for purpose, ours worked but kept switching off after about 20 mins and the windows were locked shut.
So it was a rather warm stuffy night. I admit I didn’t contact reception about this fault to give them the opportunity to rectify it but we didn’t realise until it was late and we were settled in the room.

Breakfast
Firstly with the current situation regards coronavirus and this being an airport hotel why is their NO antibacterial spray available for people going for breakfast? You touch lots of surfaces before getting to breakfast (lift buttons, door handles etc) and there are lots of things like toast and pastries which you eat with your hands.
The breakfast itself was not nice. We were looking forward to having a waffle as it was advertised but their was no batter left. The hot items were cold and extremely greasy. Cheese and cold meats were out but the covers were broken so they were exposed to the air and starting to dry up. I don’t drink fruit juice and asked to get a glass of water but apparently they don’t do water and I watched as a few customers picked up and return pastries looking for the one they want as no tongs were available.

We payed in excess of £100 for a one night stay, we could of got a cheaper hotel from the Premier Inn next door but as we’ve stayed in Hampton Inns before and loved the large comfortable beds but this hotel doesn’t have Hampton beds and they are rather small and uncomfortable.
Think I’d take the cheaper hotel and go for breakfast in the airport in future.

I am very sorry to hear that the reception staff checked in another guest while you were waiting in the queue. I will be speaking this to the Reception Manager to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Please accept our sincere apologies, we’re taking steps to ensure we maintain our high standards of customer service in the future.” We are deeply sorry to hear about the noise you encountered during your stay. I know how important getting a good night’s sleep is to our guests. I have passed your comments onto our senior management team. With regards to the Air conditioning, I personally checked with my Maintenance Manager with the specific room you were staying in and we couldn’t find anything obvious reason. Our rooms are set to the Hilton standard room temperature. Although this can be adjusted manually, this operation can take approximately 30 to 45 minutes to reach the desired temperature. In the event that this option fails, we do encourage our guests to contact our reception team for further assistance. We do have hand sanitizer and our hotels follow all the precautionary measures with regards to the corona virus outbreak. Our guest safety and security are out most important to us. My sincerest apologies that you were disappointed with our breakfast. In light of your feedback, I have shared your comments with our Food and Beverage Manager in order for this to be reviewed and better our guest’s experiences with us. I hope that I can convince you to change your mind about another visit to our property. Please reach out to us directly if you would be willing to give us a chance to turn your experience around. We stayed one night here to be ready for an early flight here next morning.
Good welcome on arrival, and were told about the breakfast arrangements.

There was a really nicely planned bathroom with walk in shower, lots of hot water for showering and good quality toiletries. Comfortable and spacious bedroom with ample storage.

The safe was in the top bedside drawer which I thought was brilliant, very convenient to get at.

Comfy bed, tea and coffee, good complementary cooked breakfast from 6.00am and good continental selection too ( including instant porridge and hot milk as well as the usual cereals ham cheeses and pastries).

All in all did the job perfectly for us and would have no hesitation in recommending to friends and family.

Attached to North terminal it’s a great place to get a bed for the night. You get a warm welcome from the reception staff.
Rooms are a good size and the bed comfortable, you can control your own heating from the wall thermostat, also well soundproof and you can’t hear the corridor noise or your neighbours.
Bathroom well thought out with containers of shampoo, soap, body lotion e.t.c. Duvet on the bed was very thin and the pillows a bit flat.
Breakfast is included and brought out hot but the waiter is grumpy and rude if you ask for anything (I asked for a fried egg and got told only what was there).
Over all a good place for the night and reasonably priced but nothing special.

It is hard to fault the Hilton if you are looking for somewhere comfortable to overnight before an early flight from Gatwick airport. It is a very short journey (allow 20 mins max) by monorail to South terminal and you are under cover all the while - so no need to wrestle with a brolly if it is raining. you can get a drink in the bar and a reasonable meal at night and breakfast is available from 4 if you have time before a flight. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The only downside is that the hotel is very difficult to find at the moment due to building work in the adjacent car park. Our taxi had to drop us off some distance away and signage to the hotel uis non existent- they are currently working on this with the airport though. If your flight departs from South terminal, you may do better to choose a hotel there and gain a bit more rest tine?

The Hotel is modern, functional, convenient, clean, soulless and despite achieving a reasonable overnight rate on line, some of the subsequent costs are beyond justification. You’re at the Airport Terminal, if you tripped over you’d be in your seat on the plane. It’s very poorly signposted once you reach the reserved drop off parking area and if you want to aimlessly wander around the fourth floor of the car park looking for a route to the hotel it’s definitely your place to be as it’s two floors down,but obviously you’d know that...Not! The Hotel was fine, staff were ok just about passing the friendly-ish test. Rooms are huge, bathroom big enough, just. The towel provision very mean....why? The beds are comfy. TV...haven’t they heard of free view? 1st attempt at daylight proverbial. There’s no aircraft noise whatsoever, truly amazing frankly. The bar is fine, but Santander or any Building Society could assist you with the mortgage required to buy a drink or food. You are a captive audience and at £8 a pint for beers is unjustifiable. Hadn’t appreciated there might be alternatives to eat in the Airport this side of check-in. The food on offer is predictably pricey, but as it seemingly is all microwaved fodder, it’s uninspiring and the vegan pie was over cooked and cardboardy. It’s barely passable. I’d feel embarrassed charging the prices they do. It’s economically offensive and if the staff dressed as Duck Turpin lookalikes it’d be highly appropriate. I’d use the Hotel again for convenience, but I wouldn’t eat nor drink within, I’d take my own and use my room to imbibe. Unsurprisingly NOT even a freebie bottle of water in the rooms, mean provision of tea and coffee .
Clearly not bothered about reputation so I owe them no assistance in that regard.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, right inside the North terminal. This means you can walk directly to check-in and don’t have to take a shuttle bus or taxi. Also a positive is that the windows are soundproof and you don’t hear anything from starting/landing planes.

The rest of the hotel is average at best. Staff was friendly, the rooms are clean but quite old. The breakfast was not good. Basically there were only unhealthy products and the scramble eggs looked like some nasty ready meal with lots of additives. In any case due to the location I think it is still the best choice if you have an early flight from Gatwick airport.

No complaints hear at all parked at long stay into north terminal dropped bags off night before flight. Staff where friendly room functional and clean good breakfast in the morning 30 seconds to terminal no bags straight to security. Did exactly what it said on the tin!!

Hi - No. At least not in my experience. On the hotel website they have, with hindsight, very clear instructions on how to park (Car Park 6, Level 4?). After a long late drive and not having the directions in front of me I found it very stressful. it is actually very straightforward! Enjoy your trip!
