Went friday the 17th for an overnight stay, we were not disapointed. Great selection of Hand pulled ales, nice wine and lovely food. The pub is really old and quirky, loads of little snug areas off the main bar. The food was of high quality, the evening meal and breakfast were hearty and of good value. The staff were excellent...

We really love this pub and have been a few times. It's is great after a nice walk around the reservoirs with the dog. I have noticed over time that the service and speed has been in decline. Today there was just one waitress for the whole pub, and two people behind the bar. There was a queue to the...

I've been coming on and off to the Strawbury Duck for past few years and always received a warm welcome. The pub can be extremely busy but even in busy times the food quality and atmosphere shine through! The staff are super hard working and attentive and this is probably the best pub for dog walkers and owners I know....

Stayed for one night, this is a place with lots of character and history if you are looking for a quiet place just outside Boulton this is it the only downside is the state of the approach road from the rear. Take the Station road it is in reasonable order. Food is second to none and the staff are really...

Literally in the middle of nowhere but a fantastic little pub. Visited with some work colleagues and steak and kidney pie was a little more kidney and not as much steak but very tasty. Bury black pudding starter was a must though - could have eaten it twice!

Can't review the food as we were told at 2pm by some snotty 18 year old waiter that there were no tables until 6pm yet the place was half empty. Spoke to the manager who was struggling to cope with a few drinks orders behind the bar and he showed no desire to accommodate my partner and I. We were...

We haven't visited here for quite some time so we thought we would try again. Same old menu but no special board tonight. The meals where we'll cooked with reasonable quick service. One downside is it appears that they have had a sizeable price increase across the whole menu.

We've been a few times and never disappoints! Always a good meal had. And considering every time we've been and it's been busy the staff have always been friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and go again and again. It's a great place to eat and welcomes dogs too which is a bonus.

Came here to eat with my friends and we where shoved in the corner it took half an hour before our order was taken and then after an hour and ten minutes our starters still hadn't arrived I went to the bar to ask and the rude waitress didn't even offer an apology! The food was a poor standard the...

We visited at lunchtime on a Sunday and have eaten here previously with no complaints. However I certainly will not be returning anytime soon. We asked politely if we could add a place setting to a table of six... The manager was extremely unhelpful to the point of rudeness. ... A poor example to his staff . Four of our...
