I stayed in the Travelodge in Bolton some weeks from July to August 2021 to due a family bereavement (I traveled from Ireland). Due to the circumstances of the bereavement we unfortunately required hotel accommodation during this period.

I can only say the staff at the Travelodge in Bolton Central River Street are some of the most welcoming, polite, kind and hardworking employees I have come across. The sympathy and understanding shown to my family during this difficult time meant a huge amount to all of us, and really made the difference. All staff from management to reception and cleaning we had nothing to positive experiences with. I cannot recommend the hotel more, I will certainly be staying again for any of my future trips to Bolton.

Zero issues to cleanliness, the accommodation was always left spotless and the location is very central with excellent transport links with the train 5 minutes down the road by foot. If I had to point at any improvement it would probably be some Air Conditioning as it was during the warmer periods during our stay. The price was modest and very competitive.

Thanks again from all the Connolly/Coffey family.

The hotel despite being close to a busy road gave me a quiet and comfortable nights sleep. I got a warm welcome on arrival from the lady on receiption who was very informative. I didn't try the cafe / bar as i had plans that evening and the following moring, but will in the future.
The room was clean and pleasant. I made good use of the shower , the water was very controlable with good pressure and lots of hot water. I've paid 10 times as much for a hotel room and not enjoyed the shower half as much.

After our recent visit to the travelodge i was a bit disappointed this time.
Reason for this was as follows main light in room not working properly when switch on and shower gel dispenser in bathroom broke so could not get any gel out.
This was reported to a member of staff who came to the room to have a look, member of staff was very apologetic and said they could not offer us another room as the travelodge was full up so offered us a complimentary breakfast instead which we accepted due to there been no other room available, but still feel there should be a maintenance person on site.

When I checked in travleloged hotel in bolton everything was okay.

But soon as i got into i went into the bathroom to check if there was hand soap and there was notting in there so i went back to the reception to tell them they there's no hands soap in the bathroom to wash your hands they told me they will bring it up but they didn't bring it up at all so I had to go to the shop and buy my own hand-wash soap.

You would off though they would check they bathrooms properly before new gust checks in any off the rooms they provide when you have paid for it and booked them.

It is really unhygienic during going to the toilet and able to wash your hands with hand soap and they pedal bin was broken to.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone whether they are friends or family

My Room Number was 315

Also just to add.

When I was checking out in the morning time the reception was very rude to my girlfriend who ask staff member if she could have a spare keys to go and help me bring my bags downstairs she was like no his booked the room for one person to stay but she told the staff she's not staying she is here to collect but he needs help bring the bags downstairs
And tried to explain that I can't carry havey bags on my own but she was not having it all.

Stayed here on Friday 28th Feb, I had read a few bad reviews before I came and nearly cancelled my booking but I’m glad I didn’t.
There are around 15 car parking spaces and there is a car park just next door, if you ask reception they will give you the code needed to get In.
Check in was quick and easy, staff were very friendly and helpful.
No sign of drug dealers or homeless people.
The room and bedding was clean and smelt fresh everything worked as it should. The room was lovely and warm. We slept well, there was a bit of noise from the traffic but we had the window open so that is to be expected as the hotel is by a busy road.
The only downfall for us was the cooked breakfast in the morning. The bacon was very hard and over cooked, mushrooms were shrivelled and dry, scrambled eggs and hash browns were almost cold.
There is a selection of cereals, breads and jam but we were looking forward to a nice hot cooked breakfast so we were a bit disappointed.
So we would stay in this hotel again but we wouldn’t pay extra for breakfast in the morning.

This hotel is situated right next to a busy road and junction. I've stayed here previously and if you're unfortunate enough to be on that side of the hotel it is impossible to sleep. If it was possible to contact them before checking in and request a room at the opposite end/side it will save you a lot of noise stress. It would benefit from an air conditioning system particularly on the higher levels and definitely because opening the window means the traffic noise is worse. The room I had did not feel clean and I could smell cigarette smoke which I think was coming up from outside. I know the Travelodge chain follow COVID protocols but overall it just felt 'dirty'. It just needs a bit of TLC. The carpet was filthy and there appeared to be chewing gum stuck in parts of it. Definitely didn't walk through the room with bare feet! On the plus side, the staff are lovely and really helpful and will do what they can if you have a problem or query.

Needed somewhere to stay quite urgently. Booked really easy on my phone.
The place was easy to find and has plenty of on the site parking, nice and open too.
We were greeted by the Assistant Manager, Kevin, who was so welcoming and pleasant and made us feel right at home. He explained everything, how the cards worked and about breakfast in the morning, also about the restaurant which we could use straight away.
Did have a little problem using the card to get into the lift (my handling, no one else’s fault) and he came over and helped us out straight away.
The room it self was very roomie, had a double bed and two ‘put me up’ beds. We had plenty of teas and coffees, as I think the room was for 4 people, there were only 2 of us.
The bedroom/bathroom were very clean, the room faced the main road, which you could hear slightly, but not enough to ruin the experience. The room for the night was £44, we paid extra for breakfast £8.99 each, and then an extra £5 for Wi-Fi. All in all, value for money.
We went down to the restaurant, and greeted by the friendly lady behind the bar and ordered food.
They did have 2 courses for £12.45, which we took advantage of, and again, very value for money.
The food was cooked & presented lovely, we both had the Buttermilk Chicken Burger, and pancakes for desert.
We both got a reasonably good night a sleep. The only down side, the bed was quite hard, but that’s just down to preference.
Breakfast, again, greeted by a lovely member of staff that explained about the continental side and the full English. Everything was unlimited!
Again, came out nice and hot in heated bowls and you just help yourself.
The lady who cooked it all made sure we were ok and had everything. She had wacky green/blue hair (sorry, didn’t catch your name) and was very friendly.
The dining area was lovely, clean and spacious!

I would definitely recommend staying here. We got value money, it was clean, tidy and above all, so welcoming with the friendly staff!

Good value for money, ideal location. It’s a very basic hotel, suited our needs and allowed our dog to stay too.
We brought a dog bed with us.
Just needed somewhere to rest up, the room it self was quiet there is a motorway type of road in front and road works going on but still not too loud.
We traveled from Birmingham and London to the vets as it was the cheapest around, the train station is 7min walk straight to the hotel.
The vets was just across the road there is also a pet store nearby, Costas across the road and b&m with everything you could ever need.
The staff at the hotel were lovely, Sofia the room maintenance person, very friendly.
Front desk I believe her name was Julie or Julia, welcoming.

This hotel is a nightmare. Checked in on Tuesday 22/03/22. I asked to stay in a room on the ground floor due to my knee but the receptionist gave me room 405 on the 4th floor. Here comes the nightmare, I needed to insert my card on the card reader on the lift to be able to use it all the time which proved a tough row to hoe. It failed 9 time out of ten trail. I got stung by a creepy crawly on my back and even my girlfriend was frightened. We had a ladybug crawling all over us on 23/03 until i switched on the light to remove it. There was no shower gel in the bathroom. The website said hairdryer available but there was none in my room.

The room is poorly ventilated as the window could not open due to restriction. I was boiling on an 18 degree weather in a poorly ventilated room . The nightmare continued when the alarm test what carried out without any prior warning. I left my room and work, went downstairs only to be told it was an alarm test. I went into the lift, the alarm went off again, and i got stuck. Just today 24/03/22, I asked that my room be cleaned and beddings changed, I was told my beddings wont be changed unless I use it for 7 days. Like seriously? The room above us kept on stomping on the floor . The noise from the road was mad. Avoid this hotel at all cost. It is a nightmare.

Stayed at this lovely clean and very welcoming travel lodge with my friend Lou after a night out and I'm so glad I chose this one.

When I checked in and out I was met with curtiousy welcoming and professionally by Kevin who was very informative and friendly. He made my first impression of my first stay memorable . Always making sure you are ok and if I needed anything. Looked the professional smart part when you enter the doors of this hotel.

The hotel is spotless and smells so fresh . Had to wait a while for the lift but thankfully I was only on the first floor so walked up the stairs.

Me and my friend had breakfast and so glad we did.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious warm and cooked to perfection. It's a bottomless style cooked breakfast (as well as cereal) and the serving area was kept spotless by Wioleta
Wioleta your breakfast was delicious and will certainly be back just for your cooking. Wioleta was in and out of the kitchen making sure the food was perfectly stocked up and everywhere was kept clean. She even kept asking if everything was ok. Means a lot to me that.

Kevin you made my stay at travel lodge Bolton and thank you for being so helpful , friendly and welcoming

Wioleta your cooking is exemplary and cooked to perfection.

You both made my stay thank you. You are both a credit to travel lodge and will make a point of my next stay will be at this travel lodge because of you both.

I just had to make sure to review this hotel and really had to hugely mention and thank Kevin on reception and Wioleta who cooked our breakfast. Without a doubt 5* because of you both.

Thank you so much
