Stayed here recently for 2nights. The room itself looked worn and tired. The bed was comfy however I had a poor sleep as a result of these church opposite. The church bells rang throughout the night - the windows were unable to block any noise. I also found the street underneath my room to be noisy.
The shower in the room was poor - pressure wasn't high enough so came out as a dribble of water.
The room condements were a nice touch, bottle of water, selection of teas and some biscuits.
The food within the hotel was okay. Very large portions but the food was basic.

The hotel itself is located on an old high street, which will quaint, had limited to offer. Pretty much all shops close at 5pm and nearby restaurants were limited to pub food, Chinese or Indian.

Overall, I would stay again but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Had a Sunday roast which was slightly below the normal good standard we have had . The worst bit was the price of a large Sauvignon £8.50!!!! And the wine is not even that nice . The bull are trying to go upmarket with the food and decor but they really need to offer a bigger choice of wines at sensible prices. This has put me off returning due to the stupid wine prices.

I was welcomed by the friendly team who run this pub efficiently. Unexciting, bland selection of beers, nice environment, including a non-smoking area in the beer garden, which was much appreciated, but disappointing, since there is no Internet access, so I was forced to go inside. I felt somewhat pressured to buy food, despite having booked a meal elsewhere.

Amazing service and food. I came for an special occassion and it didn't disapoint. The roast dinner was absolutely delicious.
Our room was nice and tidy, the decoration was pleasant and the bed was really cosy. If I ever come back to Stony, I will defenitely choose this hotel again.
A great point is that the hotel follows the Covid safety rules religiously, everything was clean and properly desinfected, so I felt compfortable and safe at every time.

The refurbished rooms are lovely and the bed large and extremely comfy. The room we had looked onto the pub owned by the hotel & so noisy customers outside meant sleep came when they went home.

Breakfast is catered by the cafe below the rooms which is not part of the hotel and I found the menu extremely poor and didn’t really like any of the options. No cooked full English or traditional options - just a choice of 4 random options such as scrambled egg or beans on toast, pancakes with lemon and sugar, melted cheese bagel with gherkins & another option which I can’t remember. Orange juice had 3 cubes of ice in it to make the glass look fuller, so had to drink it quickly before it was watered down by the melting ice. If you wanted anything from the cafes breakfast menu and not hotel guest fixed menu then you had to pay for it in full and cannot mix and add items from cafe menu to fixed menu. It makes you think the cafe does not want to cater for hotel guests.

I would advise not booking a room with breakfast as it’s a waste of money - better off finding a ‘Spoons for that.

The Hotel itself though is lovely, just a shame about the breakfast.

Never coming here again. The drinks were far too overpriced, no drinks menu or wine list so we didn’t even know what there was to offer. I have never being to an establishment where the staff were that rude, no joy or friendliness - walking zombies. One of the servers started walking away as I was giving him my drinks order. Just completely baffled by how we were treated by the most rude staff and the ridiculous and unnecessary prices. Wouldn’t recommend to my cat.

Took my partner and grandmother in for a meal today and Service was fantastic very friendly helpful and relaxing atmosphere, staff very assertive and polite. As someone who has alot of experience within the food industry I can be very critical, however the food was absolutely faultless. I had the lamb shank, cooked to perfection fell off of the bone, moist full of flavour and complemented by mash and courgette all amazing flavour and presented beautifully, partner had the slow cooked pork again beautifully cooked not dry at all and full of flavour, nan had the salmon in white wine sauce, also cooked to perfection full of flavour and great presentation. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone and have already booked to go back.

I popped into The Bull for a quick lunch last week with my wife. At the start we were the only people in the restaurant. We ordered a sandwich and chips. There was quite a wait, but when the food turned up, the beef was dry and the chips were not cooked.

Now it’s pretty impossible to get things perfect first time, but I think there trying to turn things around is just as good as delivering first time.

The new manager Justin introduced himself, asked if everything was okay, we explained the situation and he replaced the bad food and gave us the meal free.

Without that service we would not be going back but now we are willing to give it another try.

Some might argue a pie is just pub grub but on rainy miserable day during lockdown and a diet going well , why not treat myself to something wholesome for lunch and support the reopening of local business. Was really impressed with the mushroom and spinach pie here served with mash, root veg and gravy. Most pies seem to be filled with a sludge of indiscernible ingredients but not this one - this pie has visible mushrooms and spinach inside and the pastry, although big! was of good quality too. The veg and mash was also spot on. Will come again and do recommend.

We ate in the pub/restaurant/cafe (couldn’t work out what it was really!?) The waitress was abrupt and rude from the onset, and made us feel incredibly unwelcome. We felt embarrassed to bother her ! Daughter has severe allergies so asked to replace the halloumi with bacon and told there would be a £2.20 addition charge for this. Questioned that we weren’t having halloumi (more
expensive than bacon!?) and still she insisted on an additional charge. She did back down eventually but she was just so rude. Told the place was shutting at 4 pm two times, and were pretty much shoved out the side door at 4 (we were on our way out anyway). Food was average. Honestly haven’t felt so unwelcome somewhere for a long time.
