It's only a three-star hotel but it was a pretty decent stay for what we required. If you get a view over the canal boats in the marina it's really picturesque.
Yes this place isn't located near many local restaurants etc but it does have the Stonehouse pub next door which is totally separate. It's very similar to a Premier Inn and Beefeater arrangement. The evening meals are fairly good value. £6.99 buffet breakfast is really good value
There may be some aspects around the hotel that might need improving but it's a three star hotel not a five-star hotel. You get what you pay for!
The rooms were really clean and it's the first time I've seen a microwave in a hotel room which is useful if you want takeaways delivered.
If you need somewhere that is very good value close to Milton Keynes then I would thoroughly recommend this place.

what a lovely stay at the Pear Tree, a big thank you to the manager who managed to get me an early check in. in the morning with the mist covering the marina and the swans swimming by it was so relaxing and peaceful. Every thought has been put into the lay out of the room and the fresh smell when you enter the room is lovely. can't wait to return.

Tucked in out the way next to the canal our room had a fantastic view overlooking the barges in the waterways.
Our room had all we wanted including the bonus of a fridge and microwave. The bed was a great king size and was very comfortable. The room was very clean on arrival and couldn’t find fault. The hotel had a very reasonably priced restaurant which included a carvery which was fab and such good value. Check in was quick and staff member seemed friendly. If we’re back in the area I would definitely use again as it was such good value for what you got

Lovely hotel. Room 215 was spacious with a large bed. It had a nice view of the canal boats and was very quiet. The room also had a fridge and a microwave. There were even plates and cutlery if you wanted to bring your own meal and re-heat.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the price. Usually very reasonable at around £70 a night looking at booking.com, but increased to £200 for the nights Take That were at MK Stadium.
Would definitely recommend and use again if in Milton Keynes.

My son and I stayed at Pear Tree Lodge for just over 2 weeks as we weee decorating a 5 bedroom house nearby. Thrown was excellent, powerful shower, comfortable beds, microwave fridge and the maids would come in every morning whilst we weee at work and leave it in a Tip Top condition to a very high standard when we returned from work each evening.
Julia (Hotel manager) , Adam (Night Security watchman) and indeed all the receptionists were a very nice people and a pleasure to deal with and nothing was too much trouble for them.
The Stonehouse restaurant/bar next door was very pleasant too, sitting outside overlooking a nice peaceful canal was most welcome with a pint of Peroni each evening.
I would 100% recommend Pear tree Lodge to anyone considering staying there and my son and I are looking forward to staying there again whether it be for work or just a few days break to relax.

We were very impressed with this hotel. Parking was easy, the staff were friendly and professional and check in was simple. Our room was spacious with a lovely view of the canal where we could watch the seabirds. Everything was spotlessly clean and there was even a fridge and microwave in there. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well. The hotel was generally quiet and there was very little noise from the adjoining rooms. I guess the hotel was slightly dated but we would definitely stay here again. It is excellent value for money.

This hotel is on the canal with lovely views from the bedroom window. Out rooms had been refurbished and were very nice and comfortable. The mattress and pillows we very comfortable. Our room had everything we needed including a microwave, fridge, hair dryer, coffee making facilities, and a iron and ironing board. The bathroom was very clean with soft towels and liquid soap. We enjpyed our stay. The hotel had lots of information about the area which was very helpful. Plenty of free parking as long as you noted your car registration.

This was a fantastic one night stay, really friendly welcome at the reception desk, should mention plenty of free parking but remember to put reg in at check In desk. Was given my key and given directions to my room.
My room really did have everything I could want. I was travelling alone but went for the extra wide bed which was very comfortable and had really nice linen. Had a microwave and two packs of metal cutlery, TV tea/coffee/ hot chocolate. Had a fridge with glasses. A bath with overhead shower, toiletries, tissues and bathroom very clean.
I had a room overlooking the marina, so had plenty to look at with the canal boats.
This lodge/hotel was excellent value and a continental breakfast basket could be purchased at reasonable cost or a cooked breakfast could be had at the pub restaurant next door, which was accessible without going outside from the hotel.
I would stay here again with no hesitation and as I say better value with all the room things mentioned and more.

We were attending a concert at MK stadium. The hotel was close enough to walk and although we paid substantially more than the standard room rate it was in line with all the other accommodation providers excess charging due to demand of the event.
Staff were all extremely welcoming and friendly and could not do more in offering assistance by providing maps to venue taxi numbers takeaway menus when we returned a bit wet from the concert. The room was spacious and immaculately clean. Yes a bit dated but that’s the building but the rooms looked as though they had recently been decorated and modernised without ripping everything out you can’t expect all fittings to be modern. I would have given 5 stars but unfortunately for me the bed was a bit to soft same with pillows which resulted in me having backache but this is purely personal preference. I would have no hesitation booking again if in the area although would ask for a different room with firmer bed.
The hotel was full with many guests attending the concert so I expected some noise with guests returning or getting up early however this was not the case it’s was really quiet and we were not disturbed at all.

we have been coming to the lovely pear tree lodge for over 3 years. we are always made to feel we are the only people staying in the hotel and greeted with a lovely warm smile form reception, down to the ladies who clean the rooms who go up and beyond . Saturday evening I took my rings off and one dropped, we searched the room from top to bottom. on leaving I asked reception to look out for it and said I think its behind the dressing table which is secured to the floor. The manager of the hotel has just rang me there maintenance man has taken the unit out and my the ring was found. where would you get service like this. I cant wait to get back and thank the lovely manager Julia and her fabulous team for the support they show to the guests.
