Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked an afternoon tea but when we got there, they knew nothing about the booking. However a lovely gentleman called Christos made us feel very welcomed, offered us a complimentary drink for our inconvenience and arranged the tea. He turned what could have been a disaster into a lovely occasion. Christos is an asset to your hotel.

Came here for a spa break. We were made very welcomed with all the friendly staff at the hotel throughout our stay. Beds were very comfortable. Clean spacious room and big bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful with vegetarian option and vegetarian dinner was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Have stayed here a number of times and will stay here in the future. It’s pluses far out way it’s negatives…some guests excluded… Reception staff are always helpful, rooms are far larger than the norm with comfortable seating, clean and the furniture is more than acceptable, you even have a fridge 👍👍. For the ladies 2 good size mirrors in the bedroom. Bathrooms are fine, we can all find fault, clearly some reviewers live in spotless palaces…and ladies big mirrors in the bathroom also. The beds are so comfortable you will sleep the sleep of the dead. Pillows, they have recently changed to bricks…however housekeeping ( Keisha⭐️) sorted that out with some soft pillows. Breakfast is to a good standard, all self service, so you eat what you want. If they run out of anything speak politely to staff and even if busy they will seek to oblige. Food is in abundance, maybe towards the end of service one or two things may be low, but that is to expected. Staff are all very polite, but Elainie is up there with the best and most considerate staff members I have found anywhere. Reception seating area is quite comfortable, they seem to have sorted to some extent the issue of it feeling a little cold there…the location of the automatic entry door makes it difficult. There is a coffee shop in reception, pricing of prices and panini etc is fine. The bar needs a little something doing to it, lighting maybe needs dimming in the evening. Prices, £6 for pint of Coors, totally realistic for a 4 star hotel. I can’t comment on the evening restaurant, other than to note it is open to 9pm, the menu has been changed back closer to what it use to be, when the food and pricing was acceptable. They clearly changed back when they saw the impact of the trendy menu on revenues… However a couple of big gripes, which I’m sure Nicola Martin, who reviews this will know who is writing this review: 1. Car parking charges, are an insult. You will tell me lots of hotels charge to stop people who don’t have business at the hotel. That I get, but if you paying the hotel for any services, car parking should be free of charge. 2. Due to this trips circumstances and not being back till after 10pm each evening I was unable to avail myself of the normal dining facilities. No problem use the room service menu which was prominently placed on the bedroom desk. No great variety but hey keep it simple so any idiot can get it out of the fridge and put it in the microwave. Er no…I was told apparently the chef leaves at 9pm…after that it’s only panini from closed coffee shop. Seriously at a 4 star hotel ?? On checking out I was advised that the room service menu is available from 11pm-3am…strange the staff on the post 10pm shift don’t seem to be aware of this !! So panini it was…but that is pretty ridiculous…or am I being an unreasonable guest ? Unreasonable guest or not this hotel does most things to the levels I would expect for the pricing point with the added extra that it has some really good staff. Despite the gripes it will remain the hotel of choice for the Maidstone area.

We stayed at the hotel after a wedding locally and we’re very pleasantly surprised and found it really great value. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had forgotten to ask for a step free access room so I struggled a bit with stairs but that is my only complaint and to be fair it was my own fault! The room was very large and comfortable. Breakfast was the absolute star. There was the most lively woman greeting and helping customers. She was so kind and obviously took pride in her job. I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name. We had breakfast on Monday 6th Nov. I asked if I could get some gluten free toast and she took me to an entire station of gluten freeness! I was also specially cooked some gf sausages. On offer were gf bagels, brioche rolls, cake, bread, three different cereals, croissants and a dedicated gf toaster to prevent cross contamination. I was even asked if I was staying that night as they would prepare the sausages in advance for me so I didn’t need to wait. Absolutely superb service. We live not very far away so I think we will be back xx

Rooms ok, reception and bar area seating very dated and tatty, whole place has gone downhill, and to be charged £5 for parking when your already paying for a room is taking the p**s, never returning nor will the rest of the people with us

Great service and food, bar was amazing, aneal, I’m not sure I’d the spelling is right but the head bartender was amazing and seemed very interested and engaged with the party. The young man with dark hair was great and the woman who worked close on Friday night and Saturday was great with the blonde hair, didn’t catch her name. Really great time and great service

Wouldn’t stay here again .. the rooms were good tho . My daughter was getting married so we took lots and lots of rooms up .. We went on Friday and the wedding was on Saturday . Breakfast on Saturday was appalling . No bacon .. no eggs of any kind . We needed a good breakfast for the day ahead . Eventually they stocked up . Mega tomatoes .. mega hash browns and 6 rashers of bacon . At least being kind there were 10 of us hanging about … now the fun story .. we were told that the bar closes at 10.45 on a Saturday night eh what ?? So I spoke to the manager and she said we will keep the bar open if you request it .. please yes .. there will be 30-40 people here at midnight wanting to wind down with a glass of something . So yes she says .. fab result . Haha so although they can deliver food to your room till 3 am you can’t get food in the bar as such .. so 30 of us were in the bar .. quaffing away .. not noisy tho . We’re all feeling peckish . So the manager who is so so young and the under manager who looks in his teens had me to contend with !!! I asked can I please get a platter of sarnies . Nope I was told . I can give yiu a sandwich for £8 . Can you just give us cheese sarnies . Egg sarnies anything ??? Nope I can only give yiu sarnies individual at £8 The mentality of non compliance was amazing ..so if I’d ordered an individual sandwich for everyone it would have cost £350xx it’s not her fault tho . The problem is because she’s following rules and being young she didn’t have the nous to deal with the situation . I did apologise to her for me being older and she should have had better training to be more adept at her job . Just to be clear tho I wasn’t aggressive just frustrated .

I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a coach holiday. The rooms were clean and spacious and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were spot on with plenty of choice. However the evening meals were a real let down. Being on a coach tour I didn’t expect to have the same food as the other residents but I didn't expect unpalatable food. Several of our group were complaining, including the coach driver. The chef doesn't seem to have a clue about what sides and sauces should accompany the mains. Some of the desserts and bread rolls ran out and when a member of our group asked if there was more, she was told some had to be kept back for another group. One waitress was very helpful and tried her best to sort out problems but the rest of the young waiting staff spent too much time chatting and giggling amongst themselves. One even pulled a face at a resident behind her back, but was spotted. A poor attitude and unprofessional. I would stay here again for the bed and breakfast but would go to the local pub for an evening meal.

Stayed 3 days this weekend. Great location for us as we had booked train ride in Tunbridge wells, and other things to do. Orida Lovely family hotel. 8 adults,3 children had great rooms, lovely warm, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, (though would be nice if the steam room fixed) and great Gym, something for all the family. Wanted to have a small family celebration for 60th & 21st birthday celebration for my husband & Son. Family rooms lovely, Beds really comfortable and rooms nice & clean. Had spoken in advance to hotel Reception Rebecca and Lucy in the Restaurant everyone very helpful and helped me organise my weekend by email/calls before we came ,thank you for the nice touch to put balloons and birthday banner in the rooms. It was really fantastic, Saturday night birthday meal pre-booked the final order with the fantastic lovely Adam, who with his team gave amazing friendly service, layout and was really attentive to our family! Sunday morning we checked out after quick swim and decided to have a quick snack before we left. We had final fantastic service given by man called I think called Christof (I think a lovely Greek gentleman) at bar snacks served with speed and friendly smile. It was such a lovely family weekend which we hardly have together. Thank you all ! So much for your hard work in making the whole ambiance of a wonderful family weekend we will treasure!! Definitely will be coming back with friends for ladies spa weekend.
