Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

First time at the hotel an it won't be the last! Not 1 negative......not 1! Lovely people running the place, lovely staff... Had(OPTIONAL) to give the owner an extra tenner as I felt I was robbing them at £35 brekkie included! Never been so satisfied....apart from being with the Mrs 😁

An understated, delicious and exceptional value for money Sunday Carvery here at the Lyndon House, Walsall.

Georgia and her Team were simply amazing with a highly personalised and attentive service. We’ve eaten here a few times now and the service, food and staff are frankly, exceptional - thanks so much, I can’t recommend here enough.

Have stayed at this hotel for over 10 years. Since the death of previous owner Ken standards are abmissmal. This establishment owners need to decide whether paying hotel guests are actually welcome. Our room was not serviced for 3 days. Kelly hotel manager when she is in charge of breakfast uses the previous days pre cooked sausages. Cutting corners!! Cigarette butts left outside our room whuch we had to ask to be cleaned . Rude bar staff who di not want guests over locals in what they perceive their bar! Truly shocking service from Tracey and Kelly

on arrival there is a small carpark to the rear which can easily get busy but i got there early enough to get a space, the entrance is through the pub which had a nice welcoming atmosphere. I had booked a double which took me by surprise by its size as it was huge with a sum what period theme, 4 poster bed and corner bath no standing shower. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. I was gutted they didn't serve an evening meal but they did do a cooked breakfast.

what a great little find, as a walsall native living in exile in the northwest i stayed here for 2 nights so i could go to watch the walsall play at home on saturday afternoon, (2-1) 👍⚽️ 1st thing to mention are the staff, i really haven't stayed anywere before where the staff are so nice! genuinely happy to help with anything, its a very old building so if you want the hilton, book the hilton! the room was quite big, very clean, very comfortable double bed, nice sized bathroom, big waredrobes for all of your clothes, iron and hairdryer in room, tea and coffee making facilities, i was overlooking the main road but it wasn't a problem, the windows are double glazed in a fashion, there is a good bar downstairs, pub prices, not hotel prices, i didnt eat there but am told its pretty good, a special mention to Leanora, she chatted to me for a good while on friday night as the bar wasn't that busy, she then served me breakfast saturday and sunday morning and couldn't be more helpful, the breakfast is a full english or a variation of depending on what you want, also a cereal selection if you like that? a word of caution, if you need wheelchair access or have difficulty walking/ climbing stairs this isn't the place for you, like i said its a very old building and trying to modify it for wheelchairs would probably break the place, all in all a very pleasant stay and next time im down to watch the mighty saddlers i will (if its available) be staying here again! another word of caution, sadly walsall is a hole nowadays with literally no nightlife for a biggish town, apart from the arboretum there really isn't any point venturing into town.

I rarely, if ever, write reviews but I was so impressed by this place that I just had to comment. I went to the Lyndon last night for a few drinks and a meal with friends. The bar/lounge area, while large, gives the impression of intimacy and cosiness. Unlike most pubs these days, the furnishings were great and the open (gas) fire in a beautiful fireplace gave off a lovely warmth. The drinks were very reasonable priced and Tracey, on the bar, was incredibly friendly. I ordered haddock and chips and it was a huge piece of fish, thick, moist and with a lovely light batter (I think you're gonna need a bigger boat...). I was hugely impressed by the cleanliness of the toilets - probably the best-kept I've ever seen in any pub. Clean, warm, with great food and decent drinks, I will definitely be back.

Lovely quirky hotel in walking distance from Walsall Town center, been past for years as my hometown is in the area (Burntwood) visiting family and not wanting to take another 3hr trip to get back to Manchester in one day booked here was very cheap (around £65-75) brekki was included, our room was like a medieval castle, mahogany paneling on the walls brickwork and tudoresque ceiling, definitely an old building, but yeah the pub was a joining and gave like old school pub vibes with the little nick naks on the walls and ceiling, cheap drinks! (£7-8 for a cider and a beer) overall great sleep, great brekkie and definitely would stay here again.

One thing I will say is the bathroom is very dated and looks like it needs a thorough deep clean, but that's the only negative I'd say.

We just spent a one night stopover at this hotel and it was really enjoyable. The room we stayed in, in the separate accommodation area was rustic/ gothic / medieval. Most of the bedroom had exposed rock and it made a change from a modern Travelodge type room. The room felt like you had really gone back in time in a good way.
If you want modern you might be disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was really nice and quite large.
We visited on a Friday night and it was quite busy initially when we arrived. We didn't eat in the bar area, but we did have a drink later on and it was quieter and was a nice way to finish off the evening. A nice place to stay.

Best Carvery around. Visited today with my family and mother and father in law and we all had a brilliant meal. Great quality food at a fair price cooked and presented with professionalism. Many thanks to Manjeet for a wonderful meal and to Kay for being a warm and gracious host!

We have been here a number of times before and the food and service is always consistently great. We are always made to feel welcome and we love the food and drinks that are served. That’s why we keep coming back!
