It doesn't have a lift, rooms were clean and comfy, breakfasts were great, everything to set you up for the day. nothing was too much trouble. Staff were friendly. Plenty of parking spaces. They only did breakfast but there is a pub across the road that did food.

The room, location, and service were disappointing. If you're prone to claustrophobia, this place isn't for you. I reserved it for two nights but chose to cancel the second one after an unsatisfactory stay, expecting a refund as advised. However, five months on, I've yet to see that refund. Every time I call, I'm informed that the head office has rejected my request and no reason is given neither provided any contact details for head office.

I must express my profound disappointment and disgust after a recent stay at the Barons Court Hotel. To call this establishment a hotel is an insult to the hospitality industry. It was, without a doubt, one of the worst accommodation experiences I have ever endured. Let's start with the olfactory assault that greeted me upon entering the hotel. The pervasive, nauseating stench that hung in the air can only be described as a putrid cocktail of mildew, stale cigarettes, and a suspicious odor that strongly hinted at illicit substances. It was like walking into a sewage treatment plant crossed with a disreputable dive bar. The auditory torture that awaited me was equally distressing. The noise from the rooms next door and above was incessant and unbearable. It was as though the walls were made of paper, and every cough, conversation, or intimate encounter of the guests adjacent echoed through my room as if they were right beside me. If you value any semblance of privacy or a good night's sleep, this place is a living nightmare. Speaking of "living nightmares," the unmistakable smell of marijuana being smoked pervaded the hallways and common areas. It was clear that the hotel was either completely indifferent or willfully ignorant to its guests openly flouting the law. This left me feeling not only uncomfortable but also unsafe, as it's not unreasonable to question the security of a place that turns a blind eye to illegal activities. The decor of the Barons Court Hotel can only be described as tired and tatty. The furnishings are ancient relics from a bygone era, and it seems like no effort has been made to update or maintain them in decades. The wallpaper is peeling, the paint is chipped, and the furniture is worn and uninviting. I could only wonder when the last renovation or cleaning effort had taken place. The carpets, on the other hand, were beyond filthy and sticky. They clung to my shoes, collecting all sorts of unidentifiable substances, making every step through the hotel a harrowing experience. It was clear that cleanliness was not a priority here. Lastly, the most egregious accusation I can level at this so-called hotel is the suspicion that it is being run like a brothel. The blatant disregard for the law and the lax oversight of the guests' activities gave the distinct impression that this establishment is less concerned with providing a reputable lodging experience and more interested in facilitating illegal or morally questionable activities. In conclusion, the Barons Court Hotel is an absolute travesty of a so-called "hotel." The noxious smells, unbearable noise, filthy conditions, and the potential criminal activities taking place within its walls make this establishment utterly unsuitable for any traveler seeking even a modicum of comfort or decency. I implore you to stay far, far away from this place if you value your well-being and sanity.

Stayed here at the end of June for 1 night to break up a long journey at the start of our family holiday. Had to pay for 2 rooms because we were 2 adults and a 10 year old child. Through the night until around 02:30 I had to go down to reception due to ridiculous noise from another room. I made an official complaintthe next morning at reception and was told they had known about the issues with the other room and that I would be refunded. Told to send an email which I did the next day and I am still waiting on my refund or even a response to the email. Every time I phone the hotel I am told by Rachel that the refund is being processed and Richard, the manager, not available but she will get him to call me but still no call. Disgraceful customer “service” and to be honest the hotel is very run down not worth bothering with. Avoid!

Atrocious hotel experience. My 8 month pregnant wife and I had to leave early morning and cut our stay short due to public disturbance & violence in other rooms. When trying to get hotel staff to resolve and later complain to get a refund we have had no luck. Full story: On the second night of our 3 night stay, the fire alarm triggered at ~2:30am for 20 minutes on and off due to someone smoking in their room. At ~3:00am the room above us was causing a public disturbance by 3 men and a woman screaming, fighting and smashing doors. We could hear frequent mentions of whether they should call the police or not. I went to the hotel reception to ask if they could resolve it and they said they would. Half an hour later I called reception to check if they had knocked on their door because the noise hadn't reduced. The man in reception said he knocked on the door but had no answer and replied to me saying we can't help people fighting. This disturbance continued until ~5:30am with no resolution. My 8 month pregnant wife and I felt so unsafe, restless and agitated that we will not stay our last night. Upon leaving, we wanted to discuss these issues with a manager however finding no managerial staff were available (on a Saturday nonetheless) and the staff couldn't resolve our issues at the time i.e. offer any reassurance, moving room or compensation which is very disappointing. We followed this up with a complaint to the hotel and asked for a refund for the night we didn't stay and the night we left early on. They have responded with a request has been made and over 3 weeks later still no update. Even with countless calls/emails to chase, they do not have an update. They do not have a number we can contact any refund department directly and staff have not been helpful

Avoid this place. I spent 4 nights here and didn’t sleep once, place is a hostel not hotel, it’s run down no evening meals . I had stamping on the ceiling. Loud tv and sounds of pleasure all night every night and it started from 2100 and was still going at 0730. Lounge tv hardly worked. Bar was under stocked, staff kept disappearing. If you want a pay by the hour no sleep hostel your in the right place.

This hotel is shockingly bad. I’ve stayed in places in Africa where I had to share a room with a goat and it was far more hygienic! The whole place needs closing down. It’s filthy. IT’s rundown. Receptionist was rude and unhelpful. Someone was urinating outside the front. The dining room was filthy. The shower didn’t work and the water was scorching hot. From the outside it looks closed down. There’s no soundproof at all. It’s smells musty and damp. Chamber maid knocked at 8.15 to clean the room and because we didn’t let them in ours wasn’t cleaned. But you’d need more than a cleaner. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Hotel or Brothel ?!?!? I’m not too sure… absolutely the worst, dirtiest, grotty place I’ve ever stayed… first impressions you think it’s closed down, do the right thing and find other accommodation, kept awake from 22:00 till 04:00 from the non stop banging and let’s say screams of pleasure…. non stop, bathroom I avoided at all costs, painted over mould to try and make it look better but it was a joke. Looking out the window onto a flat roof covered in trainers, socks, cond*ms and even a syringe. AVOID IF YOU HAVE SENSE! HEALTH HAZARD!

Clientele very rough and ready. A brothel seemed to be operating next door with comings and going is all through the night. People hanging round in the corridor and you could hear every move and groan through the paper thin walls. We heard one female, telling her client her life story. No one in reception during the night to complain to, even when we were brave enough to leave the room. Corridors smelt musty and of weed with stinking Carpets, that stuck to our feet. We got very little sleep but when we did the bed was very worn and soft. Bathroom was okay with a bath tub and shower that worked to a fashion. Windows work old and insecure with a view of the activities in the car park through the night. Nothing decent around the area and the pub opposite has now closed, and its to be bulldozed for a new Lidl. We came here as it was pet friendly, but our dog seemed as scared as us through the night. This place needs closing down and there are much better travel lodge or B&B accommodations to be found. I’m sure.
