Nice hotel with excellent staff. Brewer's Fayre was excellent friendly and hard working staff. Clean comfortable rooms. Would have preferred a shower but bathroom was good and clean. Soft towels and Baylis and Harding Toiletries.

Great central location, 5 mins walk from train and bus stations. Adjacent to retail park with shops, bars, restaurants and cinema. Friendly helpful staff, clean room. Comfortable bed, basic soap in bathroom, no wardrobe, only a rail with a few hangers and a couple of shelves and a drawer, so only really suitable for two or three nights unless you are willing to live out of a suitcase. Secondary double glazing in addition to normal double glazing so it was very quiet. I had a family room to myself so had plenty of room. It had a king size bed, a sofa bed and I could see a rollaway bed under the bed. I would imagine that with the rollaway bed in place there would not be much room to move about. Breakfast in Brewers Fabre was £9.50 and was a typical English breakfast, no frills, you can ask for poached eggs etc and they were cooked just right. Continental breakfast was cheaper. Helpful staff. Can’t comment on evening meals as I didn’t eat there, but plenty of restaurants in the vicinity and fast food outlets nearby. Art gallery is next door and is free. If you have time to spare you must visit Walsall Arboretum, beautiful park and it is free, probably about a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive. Leather museum nearby.

This is the third time we have stayed here. We stay two nights and go to Drayton manor me my husband 6year old daughter and 3 year old son. We were a little concerned about this stay due to covid but the staff are doing an amazing job they are so friendly and welcoming and the room was lovely and clean. The guy running breakfast both mornings we were there was working on his own and was very busy. Despite his extra work load with everything now Been table service he did brilliantly and was service with a smile. When we were at drayton Manor it unfortunately rained alot and were all soaked we rang the Premier Inn to see if we could change our evening meal booking in the restaurant to later just to give us chance to get a warm shower and all dry off. This was not a problem and we were greeted by a smile when we arrived back and handed some extra clean fluffy towels to help us dry off would highly recommend staying here.

The accommodation was a great value for money - we had an issue with the room when we first came and were immediately offered a different one. Breakfast was a good value for money too. Definitely would go back again.
However, despite a reservation and the restaurant not being full we ended up waiting for our (not elaborate) food for over an hour. That is unacceptable.

On a trip to, and returning from, the Lake District, my wife and I stayed at the hotel as a convenient overnight stop. Staff were all very helpful and the hotel is modern and comfortable. Parking is easy.

However, we were looking forward to our Buffet breakfast, extensively advertised as ‘back’ throughout the hotel, but were disappointed, both going and returning.

Apparently, according to the Brewer’s Fayre staff, when they are quiet they prefer to freshly cook the breakfast. This sounds plausible, but the resulting breakfast did not live up to this promise; over-cooked eggs, hardly cooked tomatoes, watery mushrooms (probably tinned or boiled), tired fruit salad and second rate bananas.

We much appreciated the response of the Premier Inn receptionist who patiently listened to our concerns and refunded our breakfast payment.

They did the same on our return when the Buffet was again not available.

If we are in Walsall again we will stay at the Premier Inn and hope that by then breakfast is sorted.

On a related note, not down to Premier Inn, who decided that the road outside the hotel should be entirely made up of bus lanes, making it very difficult to find one’s way to the hotel without incurring penalties, especially if one is a first- time visitor?

I stayed for 2 nights with my friend I was down with my friend for my 50th birthday celebrations. We had a lovely view from room, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. On the day of my birthday when we got back to the room Fay had left a welcome note with some biscuits was such a beautiful surprise as my friend had never been to midlands before so it really did make us both feel welcome it really was above & beyond & great customer service.
Sharon who was cleaning our room was extremely polite & helpful it all just added to make our stay even more memorable. Thank you Walsall Premier Inn team

This premier inn was a disaster!! Don’t go if you don’t want to lose sleep!!

Arrived at the hotel at 10:30pm on Friday 23rd September 2022 with my friends. We checked into room number 401, and when entering the room, we were hit with a horrific and foul odour of cigarette smoke. Immediately, we returned to reception to report issue and requested that we move rooms. We were told by the hotel receptionist, who was not helpful at all, that we could not relocate rooms as the hotel was “fully booked”. We were told that we could not be offered a subsidisation, as this was something that Premier Inns do not offer, and in replacement, we were offered a “complimentary continental breakfast”. We attended the breakfast the following morning, where the quality of the breakfast was terrible, it was tasteless and watery, and were seated near an extremely noisy and disrespectful family, with screaming children running aimlessly around the restaurant. The restaurant staff made absolutely no attempt to remind the parents to seat their children, out of courtesy for other attending guests. In addition to these points, we did not sleep very well due to the roaring sound of the air conditioning, and when using this facility, the room would not chill despite following the instruction manual. During our 3 day- 2 night stay, our hotel room was not cleaned, beds not made, and towels not changed. Furthermore, we were told that our room would be sprayed with an air conditioner such as febreez, to extinguish the unwelcoming smell, but this did not happen as when we returned to the room after reporting this, the smell still lingered as strong as it did before. Finally, we were also disturbed during the night by other guests running through the corridors of the hotel, during the early hours of Sunday morning.

As a regular premier inn leisure customer, staying all across wales, England, and Scotland, I have never ever experienced such a bad experience as this. We were appalled by the lack of enthusiasm and empathy shown by premier inn staff, and will not be returning to another premier inn, as we were completely left uncompensated, in a terrible room.

We were visiting relations in Walsall. We required 2 rooms which should have been interconnecting, 1 being an accessible room as I'm a carer for my elderly Mother.
I phoned the hotel many weeks before our stay to ensure this was possible before I booked and was advised to contact them immediately after making my online booking with my booking reference to ensure we would get these rooms. I did exactly this and spoke at length to the receptionist at the hotel.
When we arrived, not only did we not have interconnecting rooms, they weren't even next door!
And, neither room was an accessible, one which for my disabled Mother was very disappointing.

The receptionist did try her very best to find alternative rooms but she couldn't as it seemed all were fully booked. She eventually did offer an accessible room on 5th floor but we would have had to move all of our belongings the next night.
Having just had a very long car journey we really didn't want that hassle.
We therefore declined and put up with what we had for our 3 night stay.
We were given complimentary breakfast & a box of chocolates as an apology.
But, what was the point of me phoning the hotel twice to organise our rooms if then nobody bothered?!

The other issue is the car park. I lost count how many times I was clock watching and feeding the parking machines again. The hotel really needs to sort out the 4 hour parking during the day. We didn't always need our car. Surely a simple parking permit whilst staying at the hotel would work? Even if you pay a fee for that!!

Sadly after many stays at this Premier Inn we have decided this was our last. There are now alternative local hotels so we will try those next time!

Had a great stay here. The short version is this is a nice, clean hotel and breakfast was great, but the car park presents a couple of issues which is why it misses out on a 5/5.

We stayed here during the Commonwealth Games. Prices were inflated as a result but I felt they were reasonable.

The hotel is very well located with several chain restaurants right next door and the town centre within easy walking distance.

The hotel is very modern and clean. Rooms are really nicely decorated and very comfy. The windows cannot be opened which meant the room did feel a bit stuffy despite apparently there being ventilation.

Breakfast was really great and worth the extra money. Huge choice, both cooked and continental and the dining area was really nice.

Service was consistently good from every person we encountered. Always felt very welcome when coming and going.

The car park had preferential rates for hotel guests but you must type your registration into a device in reception every day, so bear that in mind as you could get fined by the third party operator.

The other car park issue was that my car was broken into. The car park is covered by CCTV and well lit, but I guess being on a busy road some opportunists took advantage. Nothing taken, but make sure you don't leave valuables.

Finally the back of the restaurant could do with tidying up. It overlooks the canal but looked bit of a mess with rotting tables and rubbish swirling around.

Apart from these issues, everything was perfect.

I stayed here on a Friday night with my three young children aged 10, 6 and 4. It was easy to find with a car park right next to it with lots of spaces.

We turned up around 8pm, and we’re greeted by really friendly staff. Check in was quick and easy and we also booked for breakfast the next morning.

We were located on floor 3 which we had to use a lift to get to. The communal areas were clean and my kids loved the little walkway with floor to ceiling windows that looked out onto the town. The only downside was that the corridor leading to our room did smell a little musty. But clean nonetheless.

The room was a standard family room, which had been set up to sleep four by adding two singles beds to the existing double bed. The room was clean and presentable. Typical premier furnishings and decor. Exactly what I expected, but a little cramped with the added beds.

Everything worked fine, although there was only one TV channel available!! Kids weren’t too bothered as we had tablets and devices we could watch movies on.

It was very quiet for a Friday night, which I was pleased about. Location is excellent. I needed to get a few bits and managed to find an Aldi which was open across the road. The hotel is located right next to a number of food places so you had plenty to choose from if you wanted to eat. As well as having its own restaurant which serves pub food.

We had breakfast in the hotel, which has something for everyone in their buffet. I had cooked vegan breakfast. Vegan sausages were cooked to order. Kids had cereals and toast. We all ate well.

Checked out easily too. All in all a good stay meeting the expectations of a usual premier inn experience. Would like to add that staff were very helpful and were very friendly with the kids.

Also keep in mind that the car park is operated privately and has a charge. But still reasonable at £3.70 for the night for guests.

We stayed in room 316.
