Tewkesbury Park hotel has won acclaim for its peaceful ambiance and pristine cleanliness, with travelers consistently praising its welcoming atmosphere and immaculate rooms. While the service is generally celebrated for being attentive, there have been occasional lapses in food service and room assignments. Guests enjoy the amenities, especially the spa and dining, despite some comments about spa capacity and food temperature.
The hotel offers comfortable rooms with impressive views, though noise levels and the absence of air conditioning have been concerns for some. Opinions on value vary, with certain guests questioning the pricing in relation to the experiences offered.

Hotel's Favourite
I have just returned from this stunning hotel and I already can’t wait to go back!!!
Where to start?
The place is immaculate. The decor is exquisite. The staff are so friendly, professional and all so smartly dressed. The atmosphere is the most relaxing I’ve ever experienced in a large hotel. Everything appears to run smoothly and the staff make everything appear effortless.
The views and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. It was such a treat to sit in the lounge area looking over the hills with a glass of wine.
The food is extremely good quality and cooked to perfection, enjoyed in a fabulous, airy, classy restaurant. Both the evening meal and breakfast was 5* standard.
The bedrooms are so tastefully decorated and incredibly comfortable beds. Our room had a lovely view over the golf course out towards the hills.
I stay in a lot of hotels all over the U.K both for business and pleasure and I honestly can say this is by far my favourite.
Thank you for 24 hours of bliss.

Myself and my boyfriend had a wonderful stay at Tewkesbury Park. Upon arrival, the lady at the desk (very friendly, red hair and glasses I wish I knew her name!) upgraded us to the Lord Hastings room due to it being my boyfriend’s birthday, which was so kind.
The view from the window was gorgeous - looked over the golf course and the sun was shining. The room featured a bath with a TV in-front of it on the wall, shower was lovely and spacious, the bed was comfy & the room featured mini bath and wash products and other useful things such as a sewing kit/tea/coffee/biscuits and water bottles.
Breakfast in the morning was served piping hot with a choice of an English breakfast, or continental options so there was lots to choose from.
The swimming pool, sauna, hot tub and steam room were all great and were a lovely addition to the hotel. Relaxing before venturing elsewhere to dinner felt like we were on holiday! (Would recommend Rosado Lounge for food and drinks in Tewkesbury - just a 4 minute drive away)
Overall friendly staff, a gorgeous bar and restaurant, cosy hotel which also felt quite glamorous and a beautiful view to remember. Thank you very much and would 100% recommend!

Well impressed with the hotel and golf club. My husband and I took my in laws away for the weekend, as all our summer holiday plans had been cancelled. I googled Cotswold hotel with golf course, this hotel came up so we grabbed the clubs and away we went. We found it easy, just through Tewkesbury and past the Abby. Check in was easy with social distancing regulations in place. There is an app you can download for check in, restaurant reservations, menus, and a chat with the concierge. We had upgraded for ground floors with outside space which was a great call. The sun was shining and we sat on our patios watching the golfers come through. We had dinner in the restaurant. It was busy but the staff kept a one way system in place, wore masks, and had tables separated enough that we felt happy to be there. And the food!!!! Great quality, like you would get from a top restaurant. I had the fish cakes starter and Sri Lanka curry. Others at the table had pork belly, and lamb. You cant go wrong with anything on the dinner menu. We then had a few drinks in the lounge area. Again couches and chairs are set up so you and your group are separate and distanced. The next morning we had breakfast in the restaurant. It was busy as most guests went for a late 9:30am booking. I informed the waiter that we had a tee time in an hour, and he made sure our cooking times were quick enough for us. The golf course was fun! The 6th tee has a great view of the Abby. My mother in law waited on the back of the hotel with lots of tables and chairs and saw us in on the 18th. Again lots of outdoors space if the weather is right or guests and golfers to hang out and have tea/coffee of beers/cocktails in the afternoon. We had lunch before leaving. They offered us to have it outside or in which was very accommodating. They did not offer a Sunday roast but had lots of English favourites, Fish and chips, curry, burgers, and a trendy Bento box (with salads and nibbles). Again great food and service. The staff were so professional and accommodating in such a time of worry and stress. Thank you!

Thank you for your review and we're delighted that all the measures we've had to put in place gave you the confidence and assurance but equally did not detract from your enjoyment. We've spent a huge amount of time considering how we can ensure guest safety whilst maintaining all that makes Tewkesbury Park unique. Naturally, our two main assets are our staff team and the vast space that we enjoy with fantastic views of the area. We hope that you'll take the opportunity to return shortly and enjoy our beautiful corner of the country some more. Best wishes Patrick Jones General Manager

Me and my fiancé booked this venue November 2019 and then of course had the rollercoaster of 2020 and COVID. We decided to stick it out and had the most amazing time.
The hotel has had a lot of work done on it in recent years which has taken it up to a high standard throughout. The reception room has amazing views out over the countryside and although the room is large enough to fit lots of people in, they carefully arranged the tables and decorations for us so that 30 people still felt like it filled the room.
The food was superb, a few wedding veterans commented on how good it was and it was just as good for 30 as it was when we went for the food tasting earlier in the year where there were 4 of us, the increase in numbers didn’t diminish the food.
The private bar attached to the function room meant that all the guests were in the same place and between the seating and the decking there was plenty of space.
Obviously there were some restrictions as it was a COVID wedding such as face masks while not eating/drinking and everyone had their temperature taken on arrival however this was all well managed by the staff and it didn’t interfere with any part of our day.
We opted to have the outdoor pizza oven for evening food and this was also well done, orders taken from a good menu and then pizzas brought to you.
The King Richard suite which we had as bride and groom was huge and very well appointed including a massive bed, lovely bath and mirror/tv in the bathroom as well as a double shower. We wanted to properly enjoy the luxury so opted to stay a 2nd night!
The day after the wedding we had a lovely breakfast in a separate dining room from the main one for wedding guests only and then we enjoyed a leisurely walk into the town and along the river before coming back and using the spa before dinner.
I really cannot fault the hotel either in terms of facilities or the staff. We had the most wonderful time and I would absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone considering a wedding in these strange times.

We stayed for one night at Tewkesbury Park Hotel where we decided to stay as a halfway stop on our way to Cornwall.
We booked directly with the hotel on a Paws and Prosecco offer which included Prosecco, Dinner, bed and breakfast for us for one night, and breakfast, a doggy dinner plus treats for our dog.
On arriving a lovely long drive leads up to the hotel alongside the beautiful surrounding golf course views.
Covid measures were in place throughout the hotel, allowing us to feel safe whilst not allowing it to hinder our enjoyment during the stay. Check in was easy and handled perfectly by pleasant and courteous staff.
We stayed in a dog friendly, “Just Right” Double room on the ground floor with patio doors that open out to a seating area overlooking the beautiful views of the golf course. We were not disappointed with the room that was large, spotlessly clean and had a large comfortable bed.
There is no penny pinching at this hotel with the amount of quality of complementary products available in the room. White Company Toiletries, Nespresso coffee machine, Clipper teabags, fresh milk in the fridge and bottled water. Our dog was also catered for with treats, a sturdy raised bed, toy, towels and bowls.
We had a good hour long walk around the golf course on the day we arrived. Unfortunately, the weather was awful, so we did get soaked through but still, what a fabulous highly recommended long and beautiful walk it was.
We dined in the dog friendly Piano Bar/Lounge for our evening meal, away from the main restaurant as we usually expect to when staying away with our dog. The menu was a set three course menu as included as part of our package.
Although It was a restricted menu, we still had plenty of choice and the quality of the food was superb. Locally sourced ingredients, attentive and helpful service, where nothing was too much trouble. Our dog was also brought a lovely chicken dinner as his meal choice (I don't think he could quite believe it!)
For breakfast, the next day it was again just perfect. Lots of choices for cooked options and a cold platter with cereal, juice, pastries/muffins and coffee/tea were brought to the table by the attentive friendly staff. Just like the evening before, our dog was also catered for, with a cooked breakfast brought to him from the kitchen. Listen up other hotels that think they are dog friendly, this is how you ensure your hotel dog friendly!!
Overall, we just have to say that this hotel is a delight. The staff cannot do enough to please. The facilities and catering are top quality. The staff went above and beyond from the moment we checked in until we walked out of reception. Our only regret is we only spent one night here, but we will be rectifying that in the future. Thank you to all the staff that made this stay a most memorable one for us, despite the circumstances of the times we are in.

We were staying to celebrate our anniversary. We had previously stayed at the hotel last summer and wanted to return as we had been impressed by the standard of service. Upon check in we were shown to our room by a member of the reception staff. However, the hotel were exceptionally kind and had upgraded us to King Richard III Suite. It over looked the golf course and was a real treat to stay in making us not want to leave at all. During our stay I played a round of 18 and we made use of all the facilities. The health club is always left in an immaculate condition. We were pleased to see the addition of the new sauna hut. After our return from dinner we noticed that the bed had been turned down and pillow spray placed on either side of the bed with a hot water bottle in the bed. It was these little touches that make the hotel special. The next morning breakfast was fantastic with a wide level of choice. The staff were particularly accommodating by letting us sit in the orangery with views of the course. We were truly spoilt during our stay here and will definitely be returning to celebrate more happy occasions.

Thank you for returning to Tewkesbury Park and we were very pleased to upgrade you to our finest suite. We had great fun designing and creating our historic suites and are so happy with the positive feedback we regularly receive. I think it should be a key objective to make sure that our guests feel thoroughly spoilt, when they leave, as that's probably the key to ensuring that they will choose to return. Hopefully we'll get to see you again too. With many thanks Patrick Jones General Manager

Just returned from a three night stay in September 2021. First impressions left me disappointed. The receptionist was disinterested with no welcome or smile. The ground floor room was in need of renovation with scratches on the walls and marks on the carpet and furniture. The wall mounted television looked nice but it was impossible to watch BBC due to bad reception. The room had complimentary water, coffee machine, biscuits, milk & kettle. There was no housekeeping due to Covid but you could make a request by completing a card for the housekeeper or sending an instant message. Housekeeper usually responded to any request quickly but didn’t bring clean towels on the last day. The room was relatively quiet and overlooked the golf course with pleasant views. The complimentary WiFi was fast. The bathroom was small with complimentary toiletries and hand sanitizer but was in need of renovation.
On the positive side, the food from the bar and dinner menu was delicious and was always served piping hot. Service was a little slow at times but the staff were pleasant. The staff usually cleared tables quickly & the bar / restaurant was always relatively quiet. At breakfast, you had to pre book a time in advance. The buffet with pastries, cakes, fruit, toast etc was self service and the cooked breakfast section was served by staff. Guests also had an option of having a limited selection of cooked food served by the table. Breakfast was quiet but guests were using shared utensils to pick up food from the buffet. All staff and most of the guests wore masks at breakfast.
The hotel is located on a golf course in a beautiful location with lots of open space, it’s approximately 25 minutes’ walk into Tewkesbury. The hotel has lots of walking routes close by but if thinking of walking the ‘Deer Hunt Walk’ around the grounds it’s not easy to follow due to poor signposting. When asked for information the receptionist could only refer me to the map & didn’t know where to start the walk, some additional training would be beneficial. I enjoyed my stay but felt the hotel didn’t meet my high expectations.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your constructive comments with us and we appreciate your honesty. As a family run business, I am delighted to say we are continuously looking at ways to improve our offering. Over the last few years, we have renovated and improved many aspects of the hotel. Plus we have many exciting plans for the future as well, one of these is to improve the signage of the Deer Park Walk with a revamped map to assist with directions. I hope you will visit us again soon, and I look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel. Kind regards, Andrew Hotel Manager

Our party of 14 had a great time at Tewkesbury for Christmas. I will start with the majority of positives. Food was of a brilliant standard, from the quality and amount of choice for Breakfast each morning, right through to the evening sit down meals Christmas eve, Christmas day and boxing day. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful for any concerns that were raised. Reception area, lounges and reception a very high standard. Boxing night entertainment with canapes etc was great. Surrounding areas of the hotel really nice to walk round and the town of Tewkesbury within walking distance. Now a few negatives which in my opinion require a minor tweak to turn this hotel into a 5 star experience. Firstly, the bigger bar which wasnt open throughout the stay in my opinion would be a great addition. The extra space this would create in the lounges and the views over the countryside this bar offers would be great, especially with a big family like ours we could have our own space whilst also not disturbing people in smaller groups whilst opening presents for the children. The bar staff in the smaller reception bar were very busy and this would lighten the workload with extra staff. A santa visit for the children during christmas lunch would of made it perfect and i imagine not too difficult to arrange as most hotels do this? This would make it so much more special for the kids and keep them in their seats haha. The standard rooms and surrounding coridoors require redecorating, our room whilst clean and ample, was not finished decorating, walls doors only first coated. The swimming pool lost heat throughout the stay but assume this will be rectified. I personally think there is a lack of ramp access for pushchairs/wheelchairs. Had to carry the pushchair countless times up a number of steps (not easy on your own with a 1 year old in it) FINALLY we are seriously considering rebooking for next year as we think the overwhelming positives outweighed the negative. Thankyou Tewkesbury for a great stay.

Responded 3 Jan 2020
Thank you for your review and we're delighted that you had a great time this Christmas. We're equally excited that you're thinking of rebooking and I guess it speaks volumes that by New Year's Eve we'd already taken 14 re-bookings for Christmas 2020. Of course, we can always learn from some aspects which might need to be changed and improved. I agree that with one or two larger parties it would have been better to give you the freedom of the Berkeley Bar and terrace, which would have freed up the lounges for other too. Honestly, we just didn't think of it at the time. You can also be assured that there was not fundamental problem with the pool, it was that our boiler locked out and temperature was lost overnight and therefore took time to get back up. That's the way with pools because the cooled water needs to run back through the plate heat exchanger constantly to drive the temperature back up. We aided this through adding hot hosepiped water to speed up the process but please do accept my apologies for the breakdown interruption. I'm not so sure about a Santa trip but we'll add it to the feedback and see what the team's consensus is. You can be sure that we're continuing to invest and improve in Tewkesbury Park. Because of the nature of our building with lots of small flights of stairs, it's extremely difficult to make it pushchair friendly since we'd need to multiple ramps and lifts. Once again, thanks for the feedback and we do hope that you'll revisit us. We look forward to welcoming you. Best wishes and Happy New Year. Patrick Jones General Manager

We booked online with Maria who was very helpful. On arrival we were greeted warmly and taken to our historic suite room which was lovely - beautiful views, comfy bed and bathroom full of luxurious toiletries. The showere was great but the bath water was always tepid fo some reason. Hoping fo a snack lunch we were disappointed at the elaborate menu, so went to the Golf Bar which was expensive and basic. The dinner was superb with excellent service. Breakfast was also first class - a selection of continental pastries, fresh fruits, cereals etc brought to our table followed by a full English. No complaints, and off to the pool. Sadly the booking system (due to Covid) meant queuing for a place. On both visits I was the only one queuing and the pool was empty anyway. We had a special table on the second evening with beautiful views over the golf course; the menu was good but the choice limited and the fish of the day was cod again. We really enjoyed our stay in beautiful surroundings with attentive and enthusiastic staff. The management did well to get it all up and running after such a long lock down, and we look forward to a return visit.

Arrived mid evening on the hottest recorded Monday in August after meeting with family in the area . Check-in smooth and pleasant, Covid precautions in place. Room on top floor had lovely views over back of hotel outdoor seating area, golf course and hills beyond. Long, cool drink from bar taken outside - plenty of distanced tables and chairs. Watched the sun go down with backdrop of distant piano music from terrace and the murmur of voices in restaurant / delicious food smells wafting.
Room itself very comfortable, nicely appointed bathroom (ironing board & iron on hand if needed) together with Nespresso coffee machine, Borders biscuits and a good reading light in addition to bedside table lamps. Large bed gave space for us to sleep keeping cool in very humid temperature!
Seated in the atrium for breakfast, with a breeze from the open terrace door and watched squirrel and a small deer pottering about the grounds. Continental breakfast (pastries, cheese and a small bowl of fresh fruit + coffee and juice) was followed by waffles / bacon and maple syrup for me and scrambled egg on toast for partner. Everything was delicious (just couldn't eat both waffles, one would be sufficient!) Our waitress was very friendly, as were all the staff encountered and I think the hotel team are doing a good job in difficult circumstances. Life started to feel more "normal" and we left for home feeling full and refreshed. Would certainly recommend Tewkesbury Park - the hospitality industry has received a massive blow with current pandemic and , as a family owned hotel, we wish them well for the future.

Response from P Jones, General Manager at Tewkesbury Park
Responded 4 Sept 2020
Thank you for taking the time to write your review and thank you so much for your words of encouragement to us. You're absolutely right that, like so many others, it's been a very tough journey over the past months but we're delighted to be up and running again and best of all, providing some normality for everyone who visits us. It's been tough to get into our stride and adapt to many new requirements but I'm pleased to say that we're firing on all four again now. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Best wishes Patrick Jones General Manager

No problem as far as I coud see. I assume parent/adult in attendance.
Sorry I don’t know the answer to either question
No but I believe you can ask for this.
Why ask me, I was a guest. Phone or write to the hotel if you have a complaint.
