I was so surprised how much I enjoyed this hotel. The staff were incredibly wonderful, the hotel was immaculate, and the rooms were super comfortable. We also enjoyed the food...breakfast was great and the piri piri chicken was excellent. We will be staying there again when I visit my family in the UK.

Just a quick overnight stay. Very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed. Love the little blue LEDs over the bathroom door so you can find your way there at night without disturbing others. Nothing exceptional here but absolutely no complaints. Simple business hotel that gives you everything you’d expect.

On a busy roundabout in Preston but you wouldn’t know it, the windows definitely keep out all the noise. Great car park facilities

The room was surprisingly large and plenty of room to move around.....but

The bed was a normal double size. Fine for one but in this day and age of larger and taller people and most people having king size at home we do find it uncomfortably small and rather too ‘cozy’ With all the space in the room they could very well be upgraded to larger more comfortable beds, for us this one was also way too soft.
Bathroom was spacious and again could very well have had a bathtub, maybe you could have a choice of shower or bath.
The reception staff mirrored the rest of the hotel as in they were functional, nothing more. Spoke to 4 different ladies and all were polite but non of them particularly friendly. We had to return to reception 3 times to get our key cards reactivated which is infuriating and it was dealt with in a manner that appeared resigned rather than apologetic. Our room was very cold but no matter how many times we adjusted the thermostat we couldn’t get the room any warmer.

The bar area and dining space can only be described as soulless. 90% of customers during our stay were single business travellers who were probably on expenses and to who £5 a pint means nothing. My mum paid £4.50 for a bottle of bitter and when asked if she might have a slash of lemonade in it was charged £1 for the privilege from a soda pump, I mean seriously how can you justify £1 for an inch of lemonade. That’s approx £15 a pint in real terms and the reason we had one drink only and then went to a traditional pub serving great pump ales less than a mile away.

Breakfast again was functional and nothing to write home about, fairly nice quality ingredients but no staff on duty the few days we were there to offer a warm welcome. Coffee machine serves nice coffee

For the price the hotel is good value, unless you then buy drinks from the bar and if I were a business person I might well stay here again but not for leisure with family, it’s far too corporate and lifeless for me.

We had a very nice overnight stay at this hotel after a great night out around Bamber bridge and Walton le dale. Very peaceful and quiet. Lovely comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean. Very nice breakfast either traditional English or continental in a relaxed atmosphere. The plates are small but you can refill as much as you want.
We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Spacious rooms and good breakfast. Room was quite cool and heater was centrally set. Only one thing that irritates me with holiday inn express is that you only get 3 packets of coffee and tea in a double room. No problem to go to reception but why cannot they leave 4.

Desolate is an understatement, I should of been alarmed with half a dozen cars in the car park-so perhaps the idea of turning down thermostat a degree or so to save a few bob wasn’t their best move. Lordy me the room was frozen and thermostat pre set at 23° It’s a sad thing to say, I went for a shower to get warm before going to bed.

Breakfast is what it is at an Hi Express, expect here everything is to be consumed with a dessert spoon & a fork - no staff to top up cutlery tray, lukewarm watery coffee and no sauces for hot breakfast.

Fine if you want to save some money in these different energy costs time, but charge a bit more and make the stay more comfortable, you will get returning guests.

Apart from that, as per previous stays, the hotel is spotless and staff when you locate them are helpful, oh watch out for the parking eye - one of those awful parking cameras and remember to put your number in the iPad at reception.

We were staying here, hoping it would make a good impression and we could use the Hotel as a regular stop off mid way on our regular travels to Liverpool.

On arrival, the car park was good, close to the building.
Reception area was clean and tidy, check in was quick and efficient.
The room we purchased was a rewards room through our IHG Membership. The room itself was tired and in need of a lot of TLC. The room was spacious, the bed looked like a very very small double bed, the bed was not comfortable, the pillows were good.
The wallpaper was torn right down the centre of the wall. one of the light shades was burst and broken. The bathroom was clean and tidy.
The bar area was ok, staff were friendly.
The breakfast area was well stocked, offering only bacon, sausage and egg as the hot options but still nice. The toaster didn't seem to toast, i put my bread through 4 times and still never toasted.
The view outside was very untidy, chairs had fallen over, and it was messy. When customers are looking out onto the patio, it could at least look presentable.
Many of the guests were not wearing face coverings and it wasn't enforced.

Hello mrsk136, Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for sharing your experience with the accommodation. I'm sorry to learn that your stay was not as comfortable as it's supposed to be because of the room upkeep, some of the equipment were not working and some of the covid protocols are not enforced. I know that this can be upsetting especially when your trip was supposed to be a relaxing one. I have shared your comments to our hotel management I am confident they will take steps so this doesn’t happen again. Despite some of the services not meeting your expectations, I hope you choose IHG still on your future travels. Sincerely, Jenilyn J. Case Manager IHGService

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Bamber Bridge for a fleeting visit whilst en route to Blackpool.

For context, Holiday Inn Express Hotels, as you may know, market themselves as budget hotels. However, we found the rooms and facilities offered by this establishment well above average and on par with, if not better, than other hotels which do not market themselves as budget hotels.

We had booked a twin room on the ground floor. The room itself was very clean and spacious, with plenty of floor space and storage for two people. The bathroom was very nice, with a lovely, hot, powerful shower! The bed itself was a decent size (for a single bed) and was nice and comfortable. I managed to get a good night's sleep due to the comfortable mattress, and the fact that noise in the hotel was minimal helped.

I suspect that the hotel is either relatively new, or recently refurbished because the room was very tastefully decorated.

Although I didn't spend too long in this hotel, from what I saw, the communal areas were well kept and clean.

We had breakfast in the morning, which was a choice of continental or cooked breakfast. The cooked breakfast consisted of Cumberland sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and baked beans, all of which were nice and warm and nicely cooked. There was also an array of cereals and there was some bread left out for toasting. The hot drinks were also very nice. The breakfast area, in keeping with the rest of the hotel, was clean and tidy with plenty of space for guests to find a seat.

In terms of some points for improvement, the two lamps in our room were slightly battered, which needs to be sorted by the maintenance team at some point. Also, considering cooked breakfast was offered, I would have appreciated some slightly larger plates for this as they were more like side plates. There may have been larger plates but if so, I didn't see them and people were loading there breakfasts onto tiny little plates.

All things considered, these are relatively minor points for improvement. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a budget hotel to stay in whilst in the area, as the standard of facilities offered exceeded one's reasonable expectations of a budget hotel. I would definitely return.

The room was really clean ,not sure if it had been refurbished.

Staff friendly,helpful.

Breakfast order for hot food ,was taken on arrival.

When we did get it in the morning,it was fresh . I really enjoyed it.
Considering Covid ,the breakfast was well organised, you can eat it in the dinning area.

The pillows was a dream to sleep on .

We stayed here on our way to Heysham to catch the ferry to the Isle Of Man.
We found this hotel nice and clean, with a bar, there is also outside seating area, and decent size rooms with a comfortable bed for a good nights sleep.
Close to the motorway, but very quite no traffic noise can be heard from the room, breakfast is buffet style which is traditional English, plus fruit juices and cereal. we
would stay here in the event of visiting the area again.
