We had a delicious meal here to celebrate a family birthday. The food was outstanding, in choice, variety and quality. The service was a little slow as they appeared to be short staffed but was very courteous and helpful.

Even though our room was a bit small, even though the band was a bit loud (we had an early night) and even though the breakfast coffee was not the best. I would rate this as one of the best one night stay I've ever had. On our arrival the staff ,a young woman in this case, was extremely helpful ,pleasant...

Visited this pub for a 40th birthday celebration. Lovely cosy surroundings, very clean and inviting. Fish pie not available despite ordering prior to the visit.Very disappointing. Sunday Lunch was poor for the price (£10.95 in Autumn/Winter menu £11.50 elsewhere on website) -pointed this out when paying still charged £11.50 and not changed on website.) Expected a much better Sunday Lunch after...

Very disappointed with the meal, the waiters and bar staff were friendly and helpful apart from the person we took to be the manager who appeared uninterested in our complaint. Several of us ordered Lebanese Chicken which sounded very nice on the menu but the shallots turned out to be pickled silver skin onions, probably from a jar, the overall...

The hosts and all the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough even though they were extremely busy the attention detail was exceptional. This was recommended by a friend and I can't thank them enough...

Stayed Saturday Night last weekend. Room was warm, tidy and clean with good quality towels. Didn't eat anything from the main food menu so can't comment on that , but the the breakfast on Sunday morning was excellent. I would also like to praise and thank the staff who checked us in on Saturday. They were all very friendly with,...

Popped into Wagon and Horses for lunch for the first time, very wet day but pub was warm and cosy with log burner going. Staff were very friendly and the sandwiches were exceptional. My friend and myself felt it was a really relaxing pub with character. Many thanks

We had 48 hours. What would we do? We chose Lancaster and used Trip Advisor to locate good tourist venues and a place to stay. Other people's reviews led us to the Wagon & Horses and it lived up to all the praise: friendly welcome, excellent food, comfortable room, view of the river and a short walk into the city...

The food here gets better and better! The menu includes lots of things I've never tried before but everything is fantastic - full of flavour, presented beautifully and served by cheerful staff. I like everything about this pub - the drinks, the music, the furniture, even the loos! It's a friendly and welcoming pub but still feels like a place...
