Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The rooms were smaller than anticipated but very well laid out & the bed very comfortable. A mirror is needed in room 12! The rooms were spotless. Facilities to make tea & coffee. Breakfast not included but cereal, fruit & yogurts available in a fridge. Staff were friendly and efficient. We had an excellent breakfast supplied by Brew cafe on Sunday at £13.50 each with complimentary coffee & tea. It was Lancaster music festival which we were not aware of so didn’t use the bar as very crowded. Would stay again.

Perfect location, from booking direct over the phone with Olivia to arriving and being greeted by Nina, fantastic experience. The room was beautiful, hot day & arrived to windows being open, lovely breeze & a fan already on so the room was cool. They don’t offer food but offer a complimentary cereal, fruit & porridge station in the building to have in your room. Would absolutely recommend and would stay again when back in Lancaster.

Fantastic location, car park right next door, lovely and clean, Liam on reception couldn’t do enough for us. Explained everything when showing us to our room. Complementary fruit and cereal included in the price of the room.. We paid extra for a full English breakfast and it was enormous. Staff are all really friendly. Will definitely go back.

I don't often write reviews, but such a fabulous place I thought I should. Really helpful and friendly staff, who were able to safely store our bikes and help us find somewhere open for food on a Sunday eve. Comfy room, and unexpected, but very welcome self serve breakfast, as well as £5 bar voucher for booking direct. Great bar and beer garden. Highly recommended.

Lovely Hotel with friendly staff The free help yourself breakfast was a good idea ? Only complaint are the shower sachets. They are hard to open? Surely for what it costs a wall hung shower dispenser would not go amiss and less messy ? Apart from the above we enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your review and constructive comments. We are currently reviewing our shower sachets and looking into the use of soap dispensers, experimenting with them in a couple of our rooms to see how they stand up to wear and tear. Hopefully if you return they will be in place. Again thank you and take are.

We were only looking for a one night stay in Lancaster and this just fitted the bill. The room was very comfortable and the serve yourself breakfast was more than adequate. I would thoroughly recommend this bar/hotel to anyone visiting Lancaster.

Stayed here Monday to Friday this week on a business trip. What a gem in the heart of Lancaster. Rooms were immaculate, cleaned every day. Spotless!!! The cleaners are amazing. The staff are friendly efficient and couldn’t do enough for me. Family run business by an amazing couple. It was a pleasure to meet you Kim and Bill (what a voice by the way) Right near the buses to Lancaster university and everything in the city centre. Thanks for all and see you in Ireland x

Very nice hotel. Clean, newly renovated rooms and friendly staff. Nina at the reception went out of her way to help us, providing local information and answering our questions. There was cereal breakfast and fruits which was unexpected as the booking didn’t seem to include it. The location is excellent. Walking distance to every major tourist spot in the centre including the castle. Thank you!
