A perfect location for a romantic evening. We were lucky to stay in The Ashton suite for a night and no stone has been left unturned to ensure absolutely everything has been thought of to make a stay as comfortable as can been.

A lot of time and attention has been given to the new rooms, and clearly no expense spared which gives the room an exclusive luxurious boutique hotel feel.

The riverfront location makes sure that a good quiet night’s sleep was had and making us fresh and ready for the equally wonderful freshly cooked breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. The One Pan breakfast comes highly recommended.

We can wait to stay again soon.

So we stayed for my birthday last week on the DBB offer which was £250 for their 'best room', the Ashton Suite. On arriving the gentleman who I assume was the owner, was lovely and very attentive and we had a very smooth check in, and were given a bottle of Prosecco which is included in the offer. We were shown to our room and it was all lovely. The only real thing that stood out was some of the levels of cleanliness and a few other small things that I would expect in a room at this price bracket to be a much better (having stayed at some fantastic hotels in the UK as a comparison). Firstly, as you went up the stairs there is a glass barrier between the stairs and the upper level in between it was extremely dusty and dirty. Also in the separate toilet the same thing, the tops of the tiles had a think layer of dust, quite basic housekeeping I would think, especially ATM. And buttons missing from the headboard too (not so much luxury). Little things in the bathroom like no shower cap and lack of little extra touches, tissues and such like, and we only had 1 main bath towel in there too, and a free standing ugly fan in the bedroom area kind of takes away from the luxury feel which is clearly being aimed for in this room. I would suggest its available on request but not on show, especially at this time of year. There were a few other things but I don't want to list loads of negatives because it was a lovey room, but I think if the owners just changed and adapted a few small things in the room it would be fabulous. I would definitely chose a different room next time for comparison. The restaurant on the other hand was a different matter. 10/10. Possibly one of the best meals I have had. The attention to detail in here was second to none. Glass wear, cutlery, little touches that really stood out (literally too many to mention), and the fishcakes were definitely the best I have had anywhere. The monkfish was delicious!! Breakfast was also to an amazingly high standard, the granola was the best presentation I have seen. Awesome. I would definitely eat here again. Our waiter Jason was very professional and attentive.

On the whole a good experience, with the edge just taken off with some small things in the room that can easily be sorted.

Stayed here 2 nights to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Our planned luxury holiday in Crete was cancelled so wanted to stay somewhere special to compensate. Quite Simply French did not disappoint! Gorgeous room (Williamson) and lovely discreet service from our French Italian hostess - she was fabulous. Great location overlooking river and only a short walk up to the city centre. I’ve never been to Lancaster and was surprised as to how attractive and petite it is - lovely! We opted for the breakfast with room option and it was very special and worth the £15 charge. We also dined in the restaurant on the evening of our anniversary and it was fantastic. I will return to Lancaster again and simply wouldn’t stay any where else than this boutique little restaurant with rooms.

Quite simply put 😛 This hotel experience was nothing short of luxury! We stayed in the Ashton, and were taken back by the beautiful interior design, modern shower room and comfortable living area. The whole room is lit up with the amazing view overlooking the river Loon and big windows that contributed to a bright atmosphere. All the staff were especially welcoming and friendly, making our experience all the more wonderful. I would highly recommend the scrambled eggs and salmon on sour dough bread!!
We left the building expressing how much we enjoyed our time spent with quite simply French. Special thanks to Rob for holding our bags for the day!

My partner and I came up to Lancaster for my 22nd birthday and stayed two nights in the Ripley suite which was beautiful. I am a vegan and notified the staff of this, they were extremely accommodating. When we arrived there was a vegan chocolate birthday cake in our room which was delicious and when we went for dinner at the restaurant I had a full vegan menu with lots of options to choose from, also delicious. They had even decorated the table with balloons. The following morning we were informed that there was a problem with our lights and that they would be fixed while we went out during the day, when we returned the lights were fixed and working perfectly and we had been given a bottle of prosecco for the inconvenience. This was extremely kind and along with all of the other details the staff saw to made this a truly amazing stay. We hope to return soon and cannot thank them enough for such a lovely birthday!

Booked as a stopover Scotland-England,I chose because of complimentary reviews. Well. These reviews underestimate our experience of Quite Simply French, the most amazing hotel rooms and also a lovely French restaurant - menu& food were divine.
I have stayed in hotels all over the world for business and leisure, many 5 star, but no hotel room anywhere can compete with QSF rooms. The room furnishings were luxurious, beautiful, exquisite, and room had the most high tech lighting/heating gadgets that we have never experienced before.Had a chat with the lovely owner next morning who let us view the other 3 rooms, and they were just as beautiful but also offered extras with river views and baths. I wish I had time to tell more, but shall end by saying you MUST book restaurant early as it was full ( but the lovely staff managed to accommodate us). Ann Marie & Erik Bogaerts

I booked the Ashton Suite as a birthday stay for my wife and it really wowed her!
Service was exceptional from booking, through to an early arrival (Rob kindly helped with parking and luggage transfer) to a warm welcome and tour of the beautiful two-floor suite.
The suite was amazing with many unique touches including an espresso machine and mood lighting. After a day cruising the Lancaster canal we enjoyed just sitting with a beer / glass of wine watching the River Lune and passing walkers and cyclists. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent. Unfortunately we were unable to dine in the restaurant due a staff Covid isolation but the breakfast next morning was one of the best we have ever had. Service throughout was superb and Rob and his staff were perfect hosts.
The only drawbacks that we found were having to descend from the bedroom to use the loo during the night and also the absence of a wardrobe; however, rails were wall mounted on both floors and were fine for short stays.
All in all this is a wonderful boutique hotel and we look forward to returning one day.

I travel regularly to Lancaster for business and stayed here after trying most of the hotels in Lancaster. This is bar far the nicest, the rooms are luxurious with everything you would need, I honestly can't recall the last room I stayed in that was as nice as this. Just as important I think when you reflect on a stag is the service and there were numerous staff who I met and every single one was warm and made you feel right at home. I have already book for the coming week. We'll done to the owners and staff for making it such a wonderful place to stay. BTW the restaurant attached, literally amazing food ate there every evening and the breakfast had a great selection of cooked and fresh options, something for everyone.

We visited Q.S.F on our last day in Lancaster were we had enjoyed a four day break and what a wonderful restaurant this is.
Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, the interior is superb, beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated throughout with plenty of seating options spread throughout this restaurant, a great place to unwind in.
We were greeted and seated by a very pleasant member of staff, we ordered wine while we checked out their menu and in the end we both opted to have a pork meal, after a short wait our meals arrived and what a treat.
Pork was amazing, beautiful cooked and well seasoned, potatoes were delicious, couldn't fault anything about our meal, in fact we couldn't fault anything about our visit here, great staff, wonderful riverfront location and top notch meal and wine,a fitting end to our trip to Lancaster, its easy to locate along St George's Quay, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning to visit Lancaster.
