Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked for 1 night , free parking and good location with plenty places within walking distance to eat beefeater , McDonalds, pizza hut and KFC also there are shops at lakeside designer outlet 5 min walk away .

Reception had a strange smell but check in was quick , room was spacious and clean and seemed great value , the shower great . I would have given 4 stars had it not been for the rock hard mattress and pillows so I've taken off 1 star , other than that it was good value accommodation .

Budget style hotel with a comfy bed, basic food and drink, nice atmosphere, seemed to be a couple of Stag Do's staying there. Very clean and the staff were helpful. Would probably stay here again for an overnight visit.

Due to covid and businesses trying survive the hotel had been used by the council to house the homeless. Which you might not even see them as there's not many. There is door staff there but probably only as a precaution.
Location was ok for shopping but only a £4.40 cab to town.
Staff were pleasant and helpful. Not really as bad some are saying and the homeless are gone 1st September 2021.
Value for money.

Arrived for 2 night stay only to find my room clearly hadn't been cleaned properly for days as it had layers of dust on all surfaces including the head board, carpet stains everywhere, and the kettle was filthy. I complained at reception and was given a new kettle and, after some insisting, a new room. I was told by reception staff that I should take up the matter of the poor cleanliness of the room with room with Cheltenham HQ as they had done all they could do.

The second room I was moved to was a little better than the first, but it still wasn't great. The shower gel/soap dispenser didn't work so I had to take it off the wall and remove the lid so I could get at the liquid soap. The toilet paper was sitting on the bathroom floor as the toilet paper holder was broken, so this wasn't very hygenic. Again there were stains on the carpet.

I had several conversations that evening and the next day with the customer services at HQ. Their attitude was very disappointing as they clearly thought being moved to a new room was sufficient. No sincere apologies were ever received, and was told they couldn't offer me anything for being inconvenienced apart from a discount on my next stay. I was told I would have 7 days to accept this offer and then it would be withdrawn. Clearly it wasn't offered graciously, so I didn't take up the offer.

Poor staff attitude and poor cleanliness means I won't be staying at this hotel again.

Stayed one night. Not again ! Burger £8.95 on 2 slices of bread. Rank. Cant wait to get out. Breakfast no beans, egg, toast as warm bread. To be fair staff tried their best but no organisation. Check under coffee machine old milk gone off. Drip tray full and they didn't know how to empty it so I did it. We had to go in toilet to wash the knives and folks or our food would go cold.

We had booked a quad room, when we arrived we were given keys to a quad. They then gave us the keys to another room which was made up as a twin and told us to build the additional beds ourselves while they went in search of bedding- not ideal when arriving late at night with children! The bedding was later brought to us by an unmasked staff member who was burying his face in the pillows to hold them. We were made uncomfortable by staff for wearing facemasks at check in (despite having had messages from the property requesting that masks be worn). The room itself was dirty with unwiped coffee spills down the walls and similar spillages over the desk. Raised these issues the day after we booked out and 10 days later have had no contact from the hotel. All this from a hotel that charged triple their normal rate because they could capitalise on it being a late booking on a bank holiday weekend!

The location was poor, very little around should you want to have a walk, also surrounded by industrial estates.
The place was dark and dingy and most definitely needs some updating. The reception had no bar on, alongside what looked like a games room in what should be the lobby.
The room smelt very strongly of smoke as well as the rest of the hotel. The carpets throughout the hotel wanted cleaning OR replacing. The rooms had no light shades, no toilet roll holder, dirty walls and dirty carpets as well as smelling of smoke. Nothing felt clean. The windows were filthy and the windowsill was full of black stains. It was a struggle to sleep as the room was red hot with no air working conditioning.
The hotel also seemed to be occupied by people who were being put up there, although not paying guests. It was a concern as these people seemed to live here?! Maybe it should state before booking that a percentage of rooms are occupied by 'certain people' then it wouldn't come as such a shock.
It was difficult to get a taxi as no one wants to pick up at that hotel due to their clientele (of whom we had no idea)?
I would not stay here ever again and would not recommend it to anyone.

i am absolutely disgusted, we went to stay at the doncaster international “hotel” and once we arrived we were greeted by 24 hour security. we were told we had to pay a £100 deposit after already paying for the hotel room (we weren’t made aware of this when we booked). it was full of drug users and the smell of drugs was appalling. when we arrived in our hotel, one of the locks was bust and once we opened the curtains there were other obvious drug users who were staying at the hotel shouting at me and my boyfriend through the window. I do NOT recommend at all staying at the hotel.

The previous reviews are very accurate that the hotel is full of unfortunates! This is not good for paying customers. If we had known this we would have booked elsewhere. WILL NEVER RETURN!

Stunk of weed and smoke when you walk in.
Security guards sat on chairs slouching and smirking.
Drug users ect outside and around the hotel which gave me and my mum derogatory comments which is not what you except when you book a weekend away in a hotel!

I appreciate that the hotel is completing a good deed putting up these homeless people during covid but this should be advertised. I feel like the hotel is misleading people and the photos are 100% inaccurate!

As value for money goes you can't go far wrong with this place. Spotless and everything you need in the room. On site parking and close enough to get anywhere without any trouble. Staff were friendly and helpful.
