We didn’t expect much as this is a budget stay, above a pub. We booked three nights in December as it was the closest place to stay near relatives while visiting from Australia. My husband also knew the pub as he’d lived in the area for many years. We knew it would be basic. The good: clean, spacious room with excellent shower! Coffee/ tea making facilities and cereals for breakfast if you want any. The staff we met were very nice and helpful. The bad: NO HEATING! When we stayed temperatures were below 0 and there was frost on the ground, yet there was no heating in the room. After sleeping fully clothed for 2 nights we checked out and the nice staff refunded the third night. This isn’t acceptable and staff were aware there are issues with the heating! I have to ask why rooms continue to be let when there is such an ongoing issue that needs sorting or at least put fab heaters in the rooms. The mattress on the bed was well worn and needs changing too. Not comfortable. Whoever is managing this place and leaving their nice staff to deal with unhappy customers needs to sort it out or risk loosing great staff and more customers. Paying a budget price shouldn’t result in a lack of basic facilities and if that’s the issue put your prices up and sort the problems! Avoid booking in winter months!

Recently stayed one night at the Ingram Arms Hatfield Nr Doncaster. Staff called Rebecca very welcoming on arrival even helped us upstairs with our cases as my husband and I have mobility problems. Room was spacious single beds put together room was clean but basic decor a little old. Comfy bed but never slept due to traffic ongoing throughout the night inc police cars with sirens. Continental Breakfast items were left in corridor which consisted of individual boxed cereal, fruit some pastries then milk and yogurt in a small fridge. Not happy about check out process via fire escape stairs which werent disabled friendly and we were people in our 70s we werent offered to leave via the stairs down to the pub area. Nice staff but not suitable if elderly and have mobility issues.

Small hotel quoted as serving continental breakfast which was not full continental with a very limited amount of choices offered, although it was available early morning which was a plus. The location was good but service was not outstanding. Bed was comfortable. Would not recommend.

The Ingram Arms is a large pub we found, a younger crowd having fun over easter singing and dancing till midnight. The rooms advertised upstairs look a lot better in the photos than they do in reality. Ours, or the room we were showed first had not been made up yet, neither had the second and our host from the bar downstairs cursed the girl for not doing her job properly before finding a third room (Room 2) had a bed made up and clean cups etc. Everything else was layered with dust on most surfaces, the shower heads needed a good scrub and the bed, a cheap divan, sunk in the middle and only had room for one bedside table on one side. The furniture is junk shop but functional and the room feels secure enough. Walls are white emulsion, a few scuffs here and there but not that bad. No remote for the TV, which shares the top of the drawers with the teacups etc. The Kettle is on a small shelf by the floor next to the radiator. The door to the accommodation area is locked after 11pm and exit/entrance is via the fire escape if the bar is closed. It’s a metal staircase, ok lit through the beer garden out onto the car park. There is a fridge in the corridor with some milk and yoghurts and a small selection of cereals, fruit and instant porridge. No cooked breakfast though you can see a large kitchen from the fire escape. Pretty sure there are no staff on site at night too. It’s a noisy pub down stairs and the noise didn’t stop until around midnight. That didn’t bother us too much, but if you’re after an early night, it might bother you, though there were some foam earplugs in a drawer. It’s a shame that budget hotels have to be like this. A feature wall of bright coloured paint or a few rolls of paper, hanging the TV on the wall and 20 more minutes cleaning each room would make a huge difference and be worth £109 for 2 nights

Room Tip: Room 2 has a bed with difficult access into the bed on the right side. No bedside cabinet on that...

Visit this pub on a regular basis. The staff are always very pleasant and the service is always very good. The beer always tastes good, the real ales are especially tasty. They now have a lovely beer garden outside and it is a great place to sit when the sun is out.

I was very impressed with this place which I visited mid week in the middle of December. The room I stayed in was massive with a very large comfortable bed. The staff were accommodating and let me stay beyond their advertised check out time. The only slightly disconcerting thing was I set of earplugs in the dressing room drawer with the notes that they are provided on a complimentary basis to compensate for occasional functions in the pub. Fortunately, it was a quiet night although I’m not sure my opinion of the place would’ve been the same if They had been holding a party in the downstairs bar. Having said that, this is a room above a pub and hardly a quiet countryside retreat.

We stayed in bedroom 4 which faces the main road. There was a little road noise but not enough to disturb our sleep. The bed was big and comfortable. The room itself is large and clean, with a small modern bathroom. Soap and shower gel are provided. The Ingram Arms does not do a cooked breakast, but does provide fresh milk (green and blue top) and a selection of cereals. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and would return again.

In the centre of Hatfield, 7 miles from Doncaster, the rooms above the Ingram Arms are fantastic for an overnight stay.clean and comfortable, with a self service breakfast thrown in, and not far from the airport too.

I decided to take my husband for a trip to Doncaster to visit the museum and meet up with one of his childhood friends. We loved The Ingram Arms, a super friendly welcome from the staff - and the regulars - and a fantastic bedroom which had obviously been recently completely refurbished. The room was very big with a large bed, crisp white sheets and everything you could need for your stay, it was at the front with large windows overlooking the High Street. If you do stay here be sure to have a drink in the bar, the regulars were really friendly and the bar room banter a real hoot. Highly recommend the Ingram, we'll definitely be back!
