Rooms are pretty basic and reminiscent of a Travelodge but they are clean and functional and the beds are incredibly comfy. Reception is in the pub (and not particularly well sign-posted); we headed towards the beer garden, only to find you should left from the car park but had missed the small directional sign. The staff in the pub are very nice and you will receive a discount on main meals if you are a hotel guest. The breakfast was probably the best one I've had in a UK hotel for years. Everything is freshly prepared and cooked to order. None of this sitting around stewing or in rivers of grease. I tend to gauge the kitchen staff's ability on their presentation of eggs and black pudding - both of which were done to perfection. The self-service croissants and bread were also fresh and delicious.

Highly recommend. Yes it is on an industrial estate, but it is quiet and we had a cracking night’s sleep. Comfy bed, great shower. Check in a bit confusing as in pub, but that was only moan. McDs just opposite and an Aldi right next door. Ok meal in pub. Overall really good.

I have been working away and stayed in this hotel for the last 2months. The rooms are clean, very comfortable and the staff is amazing. They go over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting this area. The staff at Marton’s Pub are fantastic.Working away from home is not always pleasant but they make me feel very welcomed and they genuinely care about their customers. The food is delicious.I would highly recommend this hotel and pub.

Whilst waiting for our house purchase in Thorne to complete, we stayed at the Kings Chamber for 9 nights. At £50 per weekday night, this was excellent value for a family sized room. All tea, coffee and biscuits were available. The beds were comfortable, which led to a good nights sleep. What more could you ask for!

last minute stopover. Adequate room and considering covid everything you could wish for. Tea coffee milk handed to us at checking in. Room on ground floor. Bathroom clean toilet not as you'd expect..but worse you can hear all the doors to rooms banging continuously, this continued through to approximately 2-3am in the morning. Not sure what the men were doing but it didn't sound good. Couldn't fault restaurant eaten there many times over last 5yrs..brilliant.

Good afternoon, Please accept our sincerest apologies regarding the experience you had whilst staying at the hotel, we shall ensure that the doors are reported to our maintenance to slow down the door closers which should then hopefully stop this from happening again. However I am glad that your experience at the restaurant was an enjoyable one. We hope to see you again soon.
