Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We checked in for a last minute stopover. We didn't expect much for the price. GOOD JOB!! The room was very dated, with peeling paint and plaster coming off the walls. When getting changed, we noticed that the curtains didn't cover the whole windows, and being on the ground floor, we felt rather exposed. We then went to use the shower, which we couldn't as the cold tap wouldn't turn on, and the hot water was scolding hot. By this time, we had enough and left. We reported this to reception and was told the manager would call us in the morning. We wait with baited breath and will not return.

I stayed for one night at the Primelodge as a stopover on a drive from Scotland to London. The property is close enough to walk into town. I realised quite quickly that the place is being used to house homeless people, I don't have an issue with that as the people I spoke to were all friendly just down on their luck. The hotel has 24 hour trained security presumably to keep the homeless in check not that I witnessed any bad behaviour. The room I was given was clean and had two single beds, coffee and tea were complimentary. All I wanted was somewhere to rest overnight at a reasonable cost and the Primelodge provided this. The staff were friendly and made me feel welcome and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time I'm passing through Doncaster. Don't be put off by the negative reviews if all you want is a bed for the night

The worst hotel if you can call it a hotel that I have ever stayed in for the price i was not expecting it to be spotless but what we was greeted with and saw in our room was a disgrace. The stains on the walls, the grime in the toilet and shower tiles filthy floor cobwebs and dust on back of the TV to which i actually rubbed my finger on the back of pure dirt covered my finger. Bed was not that bad but was 2 singles pushed together spent all night trying to get some sleep but just couldn’t with people walking and talking along the corridor room above banging about appearing to be moving furniture etc. The place just gives you creepy hostel vibes, never again.

What a dirty and disgusting room/bathroom. Dirt on the floor, faeces around the toilet seat, shower dirty and grubby. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Couldn't give it a rating of zero....why would you not check a room before it was occupied?

Before booking I was a little hesitant as some of the reviews where somewhat non favourable. However what relief it was when I arrived to find my room clean and comfortable. The double booked for £48 had all the amenities you would expect from a central hotel. The location was good for central Doncaster and easy walkable. Upon arriving the manager asked if I required a towel as I was wet through with the rain. The check in lady was polite and had all my information ready. The manager showed me to my room helping with my bag and he gave me directions on how to get into the town centre. The bed was clean and the towels fresh. The water temperature could of been a little hotter and the breakfast selection greater. I declined breakfast as was meeting colleagues. For the rate of the room I strongly recommend this hotel. Its cheap and chearful yet clean and has a personal touch with customers.

Definitely not my definition of a hotel, but here goes: Pros: Close to where I needed to be for work. Check in was quick & easy; receptionist (Gemma?) was cheerful and helpful. Unlike some other comments, the room, towels & bedding seemed generally clean. Water was hot, with good pressure. WiFi was free, quick & stable. Cons: as mentioned in other reviews, this is a half-way house, rather than a hotel. Most of the other residents seemed to fit this category, although I tried not to look too closely. However, I wouldn’t have minded this (people have to go somewhere) if the rooms had better soundproofing. As it stood, I was kept awake past 1am by people walking the corridors, talking (and not loudly) and seemingly rearranging furniture in the room above me. The layout is very cheap and basic, bed uncomfortable and with a noisy mattress protector installed. In short, if you absolutely must have the cheapest room in Doncaster, can sleep however uncomfortable you are and wear earplugs to sleep, then you can get by here. Me, I’ll spend a bit more (and read reviews) next time and stay somewhere else.

So we booked here for a Saturday night in Doncaster. Having parked up in the car park we checked in. This was the first "hotel" I've ever been to with a bouncer. I have to say that did concern me somewhat. We got our key and to my surprise it was a key card not a mortice key with a piece of lead pipe as a keyring. We made our way to the room which was, let's say basic. It had a double bed and a single. The double had a plastic mattress protector on it. That doesn't bode well given the searing temperatures outside. You know the feeling when you open the oven door and the heat hits your face. That was the room. Needless to say but there was no aircon. I shut the curtain to block the rays of the sun but you could've spat through the material so that did nothing to reduce the inferno. We then tried to nap but the heat and plastic sheet just made us turn into raisins. Having not napped we went down for a preprandial before going out for dinner. The drinks selection in the bar was minimal and no draught beers. It was, by comparison to many places, very cheap though. That did appeal to my Scottish sensibilities. On return from dinner we retired to try and sleep having been informed that this "hotel" is actually a halfway house for people leaving prison. Should you want to share a bar with ex-cons or if you're looking for something specific then you might be best booking here. Showering was an art form as your timing had to be impeccable to avoid the shower basin overflowing. The toothbrush holder was a veritable petri dish of bacteria and the toilet and cistern had a unique moving feature which really worked the core while trying to steady oneself for a morning evacuation. The hairdryer supplied by reception was possibly booby trapped as it did try it's best to ignite anything flammable in the vicinity so it was deemed safest to keep the hair mildly moist after this. Checkout was painless and possibly a relief. There are many actual hotels in the area and some may warrant the word prime. This however was crimelodge more than primelodge.

I dropped my partner off here and was there for 16 minutes dropping off, checking him in etc...they charged £100 parking fee ...when I call they say they will pass on to a manager/sort it out etc but they never do, no one will ever actually reply to an email, I thought it was all sorted as no more communication to then get a letter nearly a year later from a debt collection company for £170!!! I was there 16 minutes, was pregnant so needed to run into the toilet and help check a guest in, someone was in the car at all times !! Still ZERO response to emails, phone call responded with "oh yeah will pass it on" every time.

Dangerous for health! I was put in a room with no window. It was dangerously hot at night and very claustrophobic. No cooling. Seems run down. I would not stay there again. The clientele are interesting. It is not my habit to write bad reviews unless I feel strongly about it.
