We went for Sunday Lunch today OMG it was absolutely fabulous. My mum and I shared the Sunday roast platter, which included roast pork with crackling, half roast chicken, roast beef, yorkshire pudding, scotch egg and all the trimmings. It was so BIG we couldn’t finish it all so we took half home. They are also happy to provide containers to take any leftovers that you have home with you. My Husband & Daughter both had pork belly, again they were very BIG servings. I can say this was our first time here for Sunday lunch and definitely won’t be the last. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. Get ya sen down.

Stayed here with my partner for a works Christmas party that was at the racecourse. This hotel was nice and close. The reception area is quite nice and feels pretty modern. Nice welcome from the receptionist also. We were given room 20. Wow what a walk that is. Some sort of maze to work out where your room is. Narrow corridors with doors everywhere! Not a good place to be after a drink! Our room had a little kitchen in it with a microwave and a kettle along with an Iron and a fridge. Very strange set up for such a small room. Everything about the room and the bathroom was sooooo tired and worn. I don’t know what other rooms are like but I know this one needs some money spending on it. The bathroom was mouldy with a mouldy, worn and dropping to bits shower curtain like something out of the 80’s! The mixer tap type of shower that was constantly leaking and had mouldy grout. Very very basic. Curtains in the room were mouldy, the bedding was strained, the cushions absolutely stank and the bed was rock hard with 1 pillow like a sheet of paper. The reason for my review being like this is because we paid £83 for this. So overpriced for such a run down room that needs TLC! I’ve stayed in better premier inns and travelodges for much less! This place should have been half the price! A lovely looking building in a nice easy accessible location just needs attention on the inside.

We didn’t stay in the hotel. However we went for Sunday lunch and it was appalling. We firstly sat down and wasn’t given any menus to look at, a waiter just came over and asked us what we wanted. Luckily we had researched the menu before arrival so we knew what we wanted. We ordered a sharing platter for 2 of us it came out and looked amazing however it was simply not edible. The Yorkshire puddings were dripping in grease, the meat wasn’t nice at all, the Sunday lunch was that bad I had to leave the table to be sick in the toilets (which can I state were dirty and unclean). My partner and I came home from this meal and felt really Ill for the rest of the day to the point where today 24 hours later we are currently both off work with sickness and diahorrea and I can only blame that on The Regents terrible Sunday lunch.

Not the best Experience but you get what you pay for but it is overpriced for what you get. Firstly the staff were very good friendly polite and informative. Down stairs the reception and bar area looked good but once entering the stairs and corridors that changes. Dirty carpets dirty walls and decoration. The room wasn’t any better it was dirty and a smell of damp in the air. The shower was that dirty we couldn’t use it, Mold in the tiles dirt in the door really bad. A double room with only one towel ? The bed was small no drawer on one side dirty window with mold which wouldn’t open. Sorry but we would not stay here again it need renovating and the rooms updating to the 20th century.

The Regent like many small independent hotels is looking a little tired after Covid but despite this it’s definitely worth look at. The friendly staff and superb breakfast more than made up for the tired feel of parts of the hotel. It must be said my room was clean and very well appointed, I had a fridge and a microwave as well as the usual kettle. The highlight was undoubtedly the breakfast, I had the “Yorkshire Grill” an excellent full English, served in the lovely breakfast room.

Well what can we say, we got married here on Saturday and the whole experience from start to finish was absolutely amazing. The planning before the big day and the day itself. Simon and all the staff are so great, nothing was too much trouble. The day ran so smoothly. We would highly recommend The Regent hotel ,

We called in for lunch, not as a hotel resident, and had a very enjoyable experience. A very friendly welcome as soon as we arrived and shown to our table. There was a good range of bar food available on the menu but on the other side of the menu it was Thai food. This was just too tempting, so we decided to go Thai! The chef came out to see us and to check just how we wanted our food cooked as far as spices were concerned. Everything was fresh and cooked just right for all. Highly recommended both for the food and friendly welcome. An excellent restaurant.

Came for a gallery exhibition. Hotel staff was very friendly, room was clean, but was a very noisy place, bands and bars late into the night and then just my luck, some guy across the hall was playing a recorder while watching tv church at 8am on a Sunday morning. Not really the hotels fault. Definitely will never forget this stay though. Yay Doncaster

Had a pleasant stay. Was lucky to be upgraded as our room was not ready. Room very large with a good view. Shower good temperature and pressure. A bit dated and housekeeping not 100% but everything correct upon asking. Staff very good. Breakfast good. Very good value for money in very centre of Doncaster
