This was my first visit to a Travel Lodge and I have to say I was very impressed. The room had everything that my wife and I needed and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the mattress on the bed. I had a great night’s sleep! I would certainly stay again if I had a need to.

Thank you also to your receptionist, she was very kind & helpful and had a lovely smile - It makes a big difference!
She really could not have been more helpful 10 out of 10 to her!

I should also say we had zero noise from either inside or out so that was another plus!

I wasn’t expecting much being on the side of a motor way but the second I was greeted by Kristen, the reception staff I was instantly made to feel welcome and happy with my choice of hotels. I have had a few bad experiences in the past with hotels but my concerns where quickly at ease after Kristen reassured me that the hotel is cleaned daily to a very high standard and the area is under 24 hour surveillance which left me feeling content, happy and ready for a much needed sleep. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone needing to stay in the area and the staff are extremely helpful.

A nice hotel where I spent 4 nights. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Pricese were reasonable - ca. £ 160 for 4 nights. It is not a glamorous hotel, but is a good option if you need to stay few nights in Doncaster for leisure or business. Of course, a car is indispensable - the hotel is isolated on the A1 and there is no public transport whatsoever. The hotel does not offer any food, but just next to it there is a fast food takeaway, a cafeteria and a shop selling some snacks

The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are very dated. The bathroom was cleaned to a good standard, but it's best not to look at the floor or the carpet too closely...

You can't lock the room door from inside the room (though you shouldn't be able to get in without a key) and there is no lock on the bathroom door either.

The prominence of signs warning you about thefts from cars in the car park is disconcerting.

There appeared to be some longer term residents at the hotel who were drinking and smoking outside - at times it got a little rowdy but in general didn't bother us.

The hallways smelt of smoke and the room smelt pretty musty.

The hotel is located on a small service station site with a Greggs and a Burger King.

Was really struggling to understand how this hotel got so many 5* reviews. Having read them again after my stay, I see that many of the reviewers have only ever reviewed this hotel...

Reviewed earlier this year and have stayed about 30 times since. Staff are brilliant, friendly and welcoming, Claire, Mel and Tracey I see the most of and Claire was a huge help last night after a mix up on booking.

It is a pity the hotel itself is pretty tired and the rooms remain in desperate need of renovation.. There have been some small touches, new heaters possibly paint touch ups and aware there is a new linen supplier. However , carpets still need replacing throughout and bathroom fans are not great if they work which does mean there are some rooms that have a damp smell, plus I believe pets are permitted in some of the downstairs rooms , which is self evident once air freshener dies down.

Rooms are clean and warm , bed is comfortable and rate is usually fine, when £30-40/night , but resent paying over £50 … as not value for money above that

When we arrived we knew there wasn’t much nearby there is a greggs and Burger King on site we didn’t fancy any of these, we asked the lady on reception about eating places and she directed us to a local pub.
The room was lovely spacious and very clean. The staff were very welcoming and always willing to help with any request we had. The lady that was on when we arrived interacted with the children and the children were very fond of her they kept commenting on how nice she was and myself and partner couldn’t agree anymore.
Next time we are up this way we will definitely be stopping here again.

Stay pretty regularly here, staff are brilliant always friendly and helpful, but the rooms themselves are pretty tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. Carpets and equipment have seen better days and no amount of air freshener covers up the ‘pet friendly’ nature of some of the downstairs rooms.

The extractor fans in most of the rooms I have stayed in have stopped working so consequently damp adds to the general odour.

Nevertheless it is conveniently located and usually fairly cheap, but like all Travelodges you need to book well in advance to get the best rates.

Myself and my daughter stayed here for one night. We had booked a twin room but got a double. We weren't too bothered so didn't complain or ask to change rooms.
The room was very clean and had everything you normally get in Travelodge.
The heater was efficient...so efficient I turned it off lol.
We were on the ground floor sideways on to the main Great North Road but hardly any noise even with the window open.
Receptionist was very polite and cheerful.
Nothing around except a small Greggs and Burger king and a "Hurst" petrol forecourt shop.
We caught a bus from Doncaster interchange. The bus stop is just over the pedestrian bridge over the main road.

We spent two nights in this Travelodge during a short break and were very pleased with the hotel. It was what we expected. Clean and comfortable with friendly staff. If you want luxury then I would suggest somewhere about five times the price but if you want somewhere comfortable to sleep then you can't go wrong with a Travelodge.

this hotel definitely did not have a swimming pool so think you may be getting it confused with another travelodge.
