I've stayed at the Balmoral a few times now and it has been very pleasant every time. Siobhan always makes me feel most welcome and is very flexible when I need to change my booking. I haven't tried breakfast yet as I'm always out too early but there is plenty of tea/coffee/hot chocolate available. I think it is very good...

Good location for me, yes the road is busy during peak times but the rooms are double glazed. Nice friendly lady owner. Rooms converted from what would have been huge bedrooms giving a choice of rooms to suit short or longer stays. lovely little personal touches such as homemade preserves for breakfast which you wouldn't get with the chains. limited...

Hotel on a busy road. Room like a sauna but too noisy to have window open at night. Bizarrely heating seemed to be on in public areas like landing etc. Owners had left a young Australian man in charge, very pleasant, but not much clue about breakfast. Provided fresh fruit but unwashed and not prepared and yoghurt looked curdled. No...

After reading some of the reviews on here, i wasnt expecting too much. However, for what we paid, we were happy with our stay at the balmoral hotel. We got parked with no problems and greeted by a lovely aussie called Dean. We were shown to our room with twin beds that were so comfy. Room large enough and clean....

We stayed the night here last weekend after the races, we were greeted by a very polite lady (excuse me as I forget her name!) the hotel is lovely and welcoming and felt at ease and comfort straight away, the room was what we required and cleanliness was fine. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that, however lovely,...

we were recommended this b & b by the hospital, where my husband's mother had been admitted, hundreds of miles from home. extremely close to the hospital was the location, location, location. we checked in late, around 9 pm, and later froze, probably because of this. there was no extra blanket. we were shivering, in the bed! our friend was...

“Room 8 is the en-suite four poster double room at the front. It's a little quirky, but comfortable for a few days. However, in warm weather you do get the traffic noise if you need to leave the windows open, and that includes ambulances as it's so close to the hospital :-(”
