Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ideal place to stay, only a mile from ASDA, Vue Cinema and lots of eating places. Also about 4 miles from the lovely Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We had a super view of the adjacent Lake from our room. The room was very basic with only one chair to sit on and no settee, only 2 mugs but no drinking glasses, and no bedside table. The TV was tiny! Maybe 24” screen. The bed was very comfortable and the new “moulded” bathroom was excellent. The shower was much easier to work than the old ones which had the shower head connected to the bath taps. A large free car park was very useful (register your car reg at Reception) and the adjacent walk around the lake was very enjoyable.

The lakeside Travelodge in Doncaster provided excellent service at a very good price. We had a room overlooking the lake, which is a definite bonus when staying there. It is in close proximity to the Outlet stores, and a new Spanish style restaurant has opened close to the Travelodge, which is an excellent alternative to the fast food outlets nearby.

I was visiting my home town of Doncaster for the first time in over 10 years and was attracted to the hotel because of its location and price.

I requested a lake view and was over the moon with my room. It was helped by the fact that we had some glorious weather.

The only disappointment is that the hotel doesn't have a bar or dining area and, at the time of visiting, there was a choice of only Subway or a high end Tapas restaurant in the retail units on the ground floor. There are a few empty units so maybe more choice will be added in the future.

It's only a short walk to a pub which sells what appears to be good quality food.

We arrived in the evening after a a very long drive, our room’s bathtub was blocked it was unblocked by one of the staff and after that I have to clean the tub myself. The staff who unblocked the tub leave an odd smell/ bad body odour so we cannot use the toilet straight away. There’s no bedside electric outlet so I asked for extension cords and luckily they have 2 to spare(needed for CPAP). The room was a bit hot but the electric fan available was dirty so I opened the window instead I did not rest well as some customers who came late were so loud
and the location of our room is noisy as we are near the main door, everytime people going out and coming in we can hear the door banging. I was not able to connect wifi for 2nd device. The room is clean, the lighting is a bit dim. The location is good near the lake and shopping outlet

Room was clean, although there was food stuck in the sick drain so I did wonder when it was last cleaned beyond a cursory wipe down, as there was also a strong drain smell. The room was also roasting hot, with nothing but a fan and the ability to have the window open a few cm. I commented on this to the reception team and they blamed the hot weather, although it was cloudy and about 18deg, so lord knows how hot it gets when it's actually hot out!
The breakfast box is really reasonable and we kept the flapjack for later in the day.
The location is great if you're just passing through. It's close to the M18 and A1M, and the lakeside location is fab for a wander round and also makes it quiet. The tapas restaurant underneath looked lovely. The free parking is right outside.
For what you pay, it's good.

We had a room with a beautiful view of the lake. This is a brilliant location for lakeside shopping outlet and lovely walks around the lake. Rooms were spotless with lovely large towels, the only fault we could find was the small TV. Definitely stay here again, great value for money.

It had the best views (over the lake) compared to other nearby accommodation, perfectly spotless. I've clearly misunderstood what the star ratings for hotels are before because this far exceeded my expectations of a '2 star' place - it was immensely comfortable, the heating worked perfectly (yes, I had the heating on in May!), everything was clean and functional. Outside was quiet, inside everyone was quiet during the later hours (I had ear plugs with me just in case, but couldn't hear my neighbours). Best Travelodge I've ever stayed in.

Wonderful views over the lake which has a good walkway all the way round which is about 2 miles. There are trees lining some of the perimeter which makes it cool when walking in the sunshine. There are also plenty of grass areas for walking your dog. We stayed for 2 weeks with our Old English Sheepdog Bertie and the charge for him was just £20 , they also provided a fan so Bertie was cool and happy . Very comfortable rooms and friendly staff , we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

The view from this lodge was wonderful across the lake. The hotel was clean, comfortable and I had two wonderful nights sleep. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This was the first time I have stayed alone In a hotel and I would recommend it as good value for money.
