I am so surprised that this is only 3 star as I received 5 star hospitality, from Freya greeting me and making me feel so welcome to the surroundings, the rooms were absolutely spotless and very well decorated, beds were comfy although a single I slept like a baby. Set in a beautiful area where you can go walks with gorgeous paths, they have a vintage car set off today from the hotel and everyone of the people asked how I was and were so friendly. I will defo be staying here again without a doubt.

A great find in a village south of Doncaster. Accommodation is lovely. Meals are a real treat as 2 chefs who own the Inn have established an excellent cuisine. Would certainly recommend for folk wanting a quiet and restful charm pub atmosphere with wholesome and tasty food in well served, plentiful servings.

Friendly pub with very good grub, for locals and travellers alike. Adele is front of house to greet you and make you fell like it’s your local and Andy is in the kitchen cooking up a storm of feast-portion favourites.

It’s so nice to see a thriving pub with accommodations. Misson is a lovely village and the Angel is by far the best place for a warm welcome and good food.

I have not placed a review for some time but The Angel Inn deserves my effort. We visited a week ago for a lunch bite to find it was under new Management and took a copy of the Sunday Lunch menu. Booked for today (5 adults and 1 infant). Fantastic! No other words.
Once again, so family friendly, and the Chef took time to talk to our Grandson. Great touch. Firstly, drinks spot on, Moretti, Real Ales and good choice of spirits. Great prices. Best in the area. Food!!! Where do I start? Restaurant quality. Sunday lunch starter, main and desserts as if you were dining in the Crown Hotel in Bawtry. As you know from my previous reviews and my 6.5k followers, I do not give praise easily. Try it for yourself. You will not be disappointed. PS Beer garden with games and toys to keep kids entertained too. Excellent

We stayed one night at the Angel Inn.
The rooms are off a courtyard, away from the pub.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
There was tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. Plus a mini bar.
The breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked to order.

We had seen all the advertising and excellent reviews, so booked to go on Saturday 11 April. In the event the experience did not come near our expectations. The bar area was shabby and the selection of ales was poor, compared to what was advertised. Service and food was only just about average. We paid £18.00 for a starter to be shared by four and it was only enough for two and they left out the whitebait that should have been included. The whitebait was served up later after we complained. We understand that the Angel has recently been taken over and we would not visit again, beware!.

I am sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations on your recent visit. The starter is actually for 2 people and can only apologise for the whitebait being missed which we acted on immediately. You are correct that The Angel has recently been taken over. We took over the day before your visit. Even Rome wasn't built in a day. In our attempt to continue with service as usual it appears that we missed attention to detail. It was a very busy evening which I pointed out to you when you booked your table and against my better judgment and with some insistence on your part I agreed to take your booking. Once again, our apologies. Anyone visiting us at The Angel can be assured that they will receive our best service and attention at all times

We visited the Angel Inn to eat as it's one of only a few pubs in the area that are welcoming to dogs. The pub itself is home to Max, an incredibly gentle and friendly German Shepherd. He didn't worry about our dog at all, was very friendly and came over to say hi then disappeared back behind the bar. The area without carpet for dogs has a few tables but isn't huge.

The pub itself is very cosy, great large carpark and the food was fantastic. I can't comment on the rooms but it is absolutely worth visiting for the food alone.

Barman was very friendly and the food was reasonably priced. No more or less expensive than most standard pubs. Food was definitely homemade and really really good. It's a bit out of the way so don't come expecting to instagram your food :)

Arrived on sat, checked in, owners couldn't find reservation, put me down as a different surname, weird, but sorted. Owner showed us to our room but nothing was explained about breakfast etc. Room was nice, comfy bed, nice bathroom etc, only niggle was cobwebs behind the tv and on the ceiling. Read in welcome book breakfast was served 7.30 till 9.30. At 7.40am, in the pouring rain, we went to the main building for breakfast only to find all doors locked. We went back to room and returned around half an hour later, still locked up, but luckily bumped into owner outside who let us in. It was then explained that we should have let them know the time we wished to eat. Unfortunately disappointed with the service: had to ask for milk for the cereal, asked for 1 tea and 1 coffee, was served 2 teas, fresh juice full of ice, menu was incorrect, advertised as locally produced jam but was actually hartleys, no croissant, was not offered a choice of eggs with cooked breakfast, and then came fried and over cooked, had to ask for sauce. One of the owners seemed rather disinterested and this resulted in arguments between the two of them. Wi-Fi was down all way through our stay.
Enjoyed our time spent in Bawtry. Lovely bars, shops and restaurants - definitely worth a visit and the food there was amazing.

On reading your review I must firstly say that I thought it to be somewhat harsh. There was no question that we had your reservation your name had simply been misheard over the phone. I am pleased that you were happy with your room and indeed it was my error that I did not go over the breakfast details with you. However, as you yourself point out the breakfast times are in the welcome pack and directly below these times we ask if you would kindly advise the bar team what time you would like your breakfast. I agree that breakfast that morning was not the best of services and we appear to have got more wrong than right. In our defense I did ask you during and at the end of service if everything was alright and you said that it was. We have taken on board your comments and in light of this we are changing our breakfast menu and times. Wi Fi is a problem in the Misson area and not just the Angel and is something that we are already addressing
