Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The best carvery by far I have had in a long while. The meat was perfectly cooked. I dont like meat that is fatty or under cooked. This meat was perfect. The chefs were accommodating and lovely. The pie delicious. I can't wait to go again. The staff were friendly and the place clean and tidy.

Me and my family stayed for 1 night and it was a really plesent stay. There is a local shop where you can get snacks and drinks for the room just across the road. There was no breakfast on a Sunday just to make anyone aware not a problem for us as we like to just get up and g we stopped in bar and it was very friendly with the locals speaking to us. The owner was also in the bar and he bought us all a shot which was a nice touch all in all would stay again if I was in the area it costs around 7 pound for a taxi into Doncaster City centre

Visited yesterday for Sunday lunch as had seen so much hype about it over social media recently. Didn't expect Michellin star food but what we did have was good, old fashioned cooking. The gammon was lovely as was my partner's steak and potato pie. The vegetables were good and in particular the cauliflower cheese (most restaurants charge extra for this but this was included in the price) The Yorkshire pudding was home made and so big we shared one between the two of us. The only slight niggle was the roast potatoes not being crispy but the roast parsnips made up for this. I'd certainly recommend the pub for Sunday lunch. Take away containers were also available for those not able to visit the pub to eat.

Booked a one night stay at hotel with some mates and first impression was ok…..but got to the room and noticed something was missing I know everyone expects shampoo and shower gel etc but my room was missing a bathroom. I missed the small print where said no bathroom included. Also bloody cold room I have had to lock the kettle on to permanent boil to try and warm the room Pro point though the penguin I brought with me was able to acclimatise to the room

Jamaica Independence Day? Firstly prices are extortionate £25.60 for 2 pints of lager and 2 gin & tonics! £3.45 for three packs of crisps! The chavs shouting and swearing. The bar staff were painfully slow and the only thing nice about the place is the hanging baskets. Saw at least 4 people with their own bags of booze (don’t blame them though) avoid!

The hotel offers Sunday roast from 12 noon. Usually it is an excellent meal good choice of meat and vegetables. Today however was very poor. Only ham left, a very dubious pie and few vegetables. The Yorkshire puddings were overcooked and crumbled when using cutlery. The price has gone from £6 to £8.95 for a small plate. People before me asked about the food on offer and told that’s it. They must really look at stopping selling meals when they know they cannot fulfil the obligation. Several people asked for refunds and there was no issue in this. Very sad today at what has been usually a reliable place to eat.

While the majority of the staff were really friendly, the accommodation is beyond tired and food availability is limited, although the breakfast is good. The hotel is the location of the dirtiest stair carpet I've ever seen, and security is non-existent; I got back from a day's work to find my room door had been unlocked, the window onto the flat roof/smoking area had been opened wide, and a random piece of wood some 3ft long had been left on the floor. When I went to ask about it, the only member of staff I could find, when she would finally speak to me, when she got off her phone, said "I don't know darling", and just walked away. If I work in Doncaster again, I'd rather sleep on a park bench
